Food was very good! Service was initially very good but slowed after dessert order. Their Kitchen serves two restaurants. They comped our desserts, which were very good, and were apologetic. We were very happy as to how they handled that situation so we will definitely come back!
Foot traffic was a bit light at 6:45 on a recent Friday but was picking up considerably as time went on. Prime Rib was very good - the sides meh. Baked potato was a bit under done and root vegetables were fine just not my favs. Waitress was very attentive and kept checking in but not in an obtrusive way. Drinks were good; my wife had a specialty cocktail which was quite tasty while I opted for a cider. Prices were what you would expect from an upscale...but not too stuffy...dining establishment.
Friendly and attentive service. Menu offers a well-rounded mix of creative but accessible dishes; we each were very happy with our meals. Live entertainment was too loud (and began a bit too early) for our liking. We’ll return but will check the entertainment schedule first.
I thought the atmosphere was decent with a casual vibe, but wasn't impressed with the food. I had the tenderloin and my husband had the pork shank - neither one were very flavorful. My brother had the salmon and really enjoyed it - maybe we made the wrong choices. Tenderloin was a skimpy piece, not what I'm used to at locations closer to Boston, etc. Wouldn't go out of my way to go back. Service was attentive though.
We had a most enjoyable dinner at the Duck this past Saturday night. The highlight of the evening was the entertainment in the bar area. They were not too loud so you could still talk and the song selections were fantastic as was the talent of the musicians. The food was good. Not great but I did like the menu options.
My wife and I having been to Avellino a few times wanted to try the Duck and we were not disappointed. Made a reservation on a Saturday only about 3 hours in advance and fortunately got the time we wanted, ended up getting seated in an area of high top tables (again only reserved 3 hours in advance) but got seated right away. A bit livelier than Avellinos, I liked the look of the bar area. Had clam chowder, beef tenderloin and the not your average chicken cordon bleu, all were excellent. Good service as well a very enjoyable evening.
We had not been to this restaurant in 30 years, dating back to when the upscale "Whistling Swan" graced the first floor and the casual "Ugly Duckling" upstairs offered pub-like fare. The current iteration, The Duck", disappointed us at first with its somewhat rustic setting and hard surfaces reflecting noise. The food, however, was varied and outstanding. Our platters of shish kebab and crispy Asian duck with basmati rice and vegetables were enormous. We made a complete and equally delicious second meal from the ample leftovers. We would welcome an opportunity for a return visit.
Our restaurant experience was very good. We will definitely be returning. The only downfall was that this Open Table reservation did not make it to the restaurant. Luckily they were not busy yet and seated us immediately. I recommend calling the restaurant directly to make a reservation.
My husband and I ate here for the first time during Brimfield Flea Market week. We had a reservation, but I should have asked for a booth because we were sat at very small table which didn't fit much at all. Our calamari appetizer was fried perfectly and tasted great. We had the New York Strip for dinner which was just so-so. Our waitress did not ask us if our steak was cooked properly and we had to ask her to remove extra glasses since my husband had ordered sparkling water. We were not given bread, but the table near us got bread. Our server was very polite and pleasant, but it was almost like they were short a server or something.
We dined here for my friend's birthday. Food was excellent and atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. It was a Friday night, so there was a live band playing. We closed the place that night after having a 730 reservation. Great conversation and fun! I will definitely visit again soon.
My husband and I came to eat here for our first wedding anniversary and it was more than what we could have asked for. The remodeled barn loft is beyond cozy for a very enjoyable and tasty dinner. We had the buffalo chicken dip which was incredible as an appetizer and finished the night off with awesome sirloin steaks. The service was also impeccable and our waitress was an absolute sweetheart. I would recommend this lovely gem of a restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal and a great time.
My husband and I used to go there years ago. The food was always excellent and this place ranked up there as one of favorites. I'm not sure what happened; I could have gone to a chain restaurant and had a better meal. Hopefully it was just an off night for the kitchen but it's too late for us. We will not be returning.
The Buffalo chicken dip was all blue cheese and no chicken. My husbands steak was ordered medium and what he received wouldn't even have passed as medium rare and the a baked potato was just that. Not really even warm and we had to ask for butter. I had the Tenderloin which wasn't cooked much better served on top of greasy potatoes. Not at all worth the $190 bill which I would be more than happy to pay for GOOD meal over and over again.
First timers -went for lunch on a Saturday - party of 6 adults. Server attentive plus negotiated with kitchen staff to get two dinner-only items prepared. But two requested items from the lunch menu were not available. Expect we'll eat there again - good place to meet between Boston and Hartford.
