The Duck Ratings and Reviews
Went here for Valentine's day. It was the first time we had been here. The atmosphere was very nice. Exposed beams, string lights, rustic. Since it was Valentine's, it was pretty packed, but not noisy or over crowded. They had some nice dinner and cocktail specials. The waitress was attentive, even though they were very busy. They also had live music, a guitar/singing duo who were very good. I had the short ribs, which was delicious. My husband has the steak special, with a lobster sauce which was also excellent. The only thing that wasn't up to par was the dessert I ordered . White chocolate mousse. It was inedible. Like a paste of granulated sugar. I sent it back and they took it off the bill. All in all, it was a very nice experience and we would visit this restaurant again.
We had a Group of 6. Shared Pretzel knots, Duck Confit Poutine. Delicious. Others had the Chicken Cordon Bleue,French Onion soup, delicious but less salt next time. Fish and Chips, Fried Chicken Sandwich, Fish Tacos, all excellent, Butternut Squash Raviolis were ok.
The deserts, oh yeah. Excellent we had everything but the brûlée.
Is hard to find the door, but there are multiple restaurants under one roof. Having an opentable reservation helped and we were seated immediately. The beer selection was great. We all had cocktails that were done right, and the server was friendly and attentive.
Our group had the duck confit poutin... Which was wonderful. The fried wonton and Mac & cheese, both good.
A couple of us ordered beers that came reasonably fast.
Meals were the "not your average chicken cordon Bleu", a new York strip, and a filet. All were tasty... I'll note the steaks were a one level undercooked from what was ordered. My medium rare filet was really rare and my friends NY strip was medium rare instead of medium. Neither of us sent them back and still enjoyed them.
Dessert was excellent... We had the Kentucky bourbon pie, the only way to improve it would be to warm it up a little.
We'll definitely come here again.
The food was excellent, I had the hazelnut encrusted salmon. It was cooked to perfection. The waitress was very good. And I the ambiance was so warm And comfortable. I highly recommend the Duck. The dress was casual or dressy of you are there for a special occasion.
Me and my wife have eaten here about a dozen times together and every time the food has been perfect with great service and a good beer selection. We took our family here for lunch before an event. One chicken cordonblue was under cooked. We brought it to our servers attention, she removed it from the bill and the person was served a replacement dish. asap. Mistakes happen and I think a good measure of a resturaunt is how they handle a small mistake. We will still be back for the great food and beer, and I would still recommend The Duck, and all of table 3 restaurants.
My first time at The Duck restaurant and it won't be my last! We went for lunch on Saturday and enjoyed our meals very much! I was also impressed, not only with the menu selections, but also with the several special selections that were offered. The food was delicious and the atmosphere and service were wonderful. Everyone, including the manager, were very friendly and they made every effort to make you feel welcomed! We will be back!
Our favorite rstaurant, we go a few times a year when we are visiting the area. Fabulous food!! Fabulous service!! Our recent visit was no exception and we enjoyed our delicious meals as always!
We were not crazy about the recent renovations, though. The new bench seating along two walls might have increased seating capacity some, but tables are oriented differently now so those lack the 'privacy ' they used to afford, and conversations are louder. We also thought the original railing on one side added to the rustic charm of the space.
We are looking firward to another dinner there in March!
As always a fantastic meal. Surprised that they no longer offer prime rib even though it was still listed on the menu. Our server worked with us to find alternatives and hit a home run for all four of us. Her knowledge of the menu and how dishes are designed helped her in describing so we could decide.
Excellent, attentive service. Excellent food - portions a bit large. Good gluten free selection. We had reservations for 6:00 pm. Just as we were leaving a bit after 7, the band was setting up in the bar area. Most likely music would change the atmosphere somewhat. However, we appreciated the pre-music quiet. Excellent choice for pre-theater [Stageloft Theater is just blocks away] dinner.
My wife and I have been to the Duck several times and always had a great dinner. The service was second to none the other night and my drink really topped off the evening. If your looking for a nice place to eat and talk without all the noise then this is it. We will definitely be back, without question.
Food was very good! Service was initially very good but slowed after dessert order. Their Kitchen serves two restaurants. They comped our desserts, which were very good, and were apologetic. We were very happy as to how they handled that situation so we will definitely come back!
Foot traffic was a bit light at 6:45 on a recent Friday but was picking up considerably as time went on. Prime Rib was very good - the sides meh. Baked potato was a bit under done and root vegetables were fine just not my favs. Waitress was very attentive and kept checking in but not in an obtrusive way. Drinks were good; my wife had a specialty cocktail which was quite tasty while I opted for a cider. Prices were what you would expect from an upscale...but not too stuffy...dining establishment.
