My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our Afternoon Tea at the Prince of Wales in Niagara on the lake… awesome experience
Jodi was amazing and the food yummy. Always such a pleasure to take it all in and just enjoy!
Wonderful way to spend our birthdays
Perfect for high tea, delicious tea and food, great service!
Our server was fantastic. Minimal interruptions. She let us enjoy our time at high tea. She was knowledgeable and answered our questions with kindness and grace. The food was a journey of the senses - beautiful and flavorful. The location was stunningly gorgeous.
Took my mum here for her bday and she loved everything about it. Service was polite and courteous. Beautiful hotel and tea room with old world style.
We have enjoyed the Afternoon Teas for a number of years and have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The tea, food and service is always impeccable. The ambience is perfect for making a relaxing time and experience, you feel as if you have stepped back to a gentler time! As with everything, good things don't come cheap, but I would say that the Tea is still very good value.
Love this place always. Good quality is always somewhat questionable (ie white sliced bread)
Very pleasant experience. Great food and service. Scones are delicious
Grace, our server was so kind to our 7 year old. Making her feel super special - like a real princess! Thank you Grace!
Overall the experience was always amazing. Staff were friendly and food was spot on!!
Always a great time. Service is fantastic. Of course the food and tea are delicious
Afternoon Tea was fabulous. Items were nothing like we experienced anywhere else. We also added the cheese plate. Sat outside on verandah. so peaceful. Server was knowledgeable and professional. Definitely go back!
I went with my husband and 12 year old daughter. We all had a great time We! We loved the presentation of the food and the flavors were extraordinary. We would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the area.
The only true downside was that the seating area was a little too small and they were seating guests from multiple restaurants in the same patio area. This made it difficult to determine which wait staff belonged to which customer/table.
The service and food were so amazing!
The Traditional afternoon tea was delicious and more filling than anticipated. The spot is a great spot to sit out on their covered patio.
The wait staff was amazing and attentive, and the tea selection was really nice. Would do it again for sure
Such a great experience even during Covid restirctions. Will always come back!
This was a lovely place to go for afternoon tea. The service was wonderful and the staff were friendly and helpful.
I liked the sandwiches. The scones were freshly made. Still warm. And excellent. I liked their cheese as well. Just the other sweats were a bit too sweet for me.
I always have a great time coming here for high tea and bringing my friends with me and I will continue coming here for high tea. Thank you for the experience.
Outside near the Fountain was a disaster with wind and the seed pods coming off tree and into our water and dishes. They did move us to the "Porch" were we had originally booked.
We had to take a two seater instead of a table for our group of three because there were no bigger tables. I have had Tea here a number of times before with no problems Inside in the Drawing Room is the only appropriate setting, but due to Covid we could not go inside.
Victoria was excellent! We sat by the fountain and thoroughly enjoyed everything.
We booked a reservation for the drawing room. Got there, and was literally sent to three different places before being seated. Our table was super wobbly which is not great when you have two pots of hot tea. The server was the most slowest server I have ever seen. We would ask for simple things like more sugar and milk and she would take 20mins to grab it. By the time she came back. My tea would be cold. Food was awful! Cheap and bland. It’s literally nothing special. The amount of money spent, could’ve been well spent somewhere else. The workers gave us dirty looks and made us feel uncomfortable. The whole experience was not what we expected. They are also playing Christmas music in June.
It was lovely, Thank you. So nice that my hubby is bringing his Mom again on Saturday! Twice in one week!
Tropical green tea was a very good choice for a hot summer's day. Good selection of sandwiches and pastries - the scones and smoked salmon sandwiches were the highlights for us. And everything was very picturesque.
Victoria our server was wonderful! Pleasant and informative, with Covid it’s outdoor dining so they’ve done the best they could given the restrictions and it was still very enjoyable. I thought the portions wouldn’t be filling but I was more than wrong about that, everything was delicious I will be returning.
What a great afternoon! The tea and food was delicious, the ambiance on the patio was amazing and the waitress was so nice and attentive. We will be back
Service was wonderful, would definitely recommend.
Scones warm from the oven such a lovely touch.
Very nice outdoor afternoon tea service. Friendly waitstaff who were exceptionally attentive without being intrusive. Good value compared to similar places in the city.
Afternoon tea at the Prince of Wales is typically been one of the highlights of our trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake. Not this year unfortunately. In fairness, they had just reopened after a lengthy lockdown so I expect that they will hit their stride but they aren’t there at the moment.
The sandwiches were stale and there was no choice. The ham and cheese lacked any mustard or any type of seasoning being just a slab of ham and a slab of cheese with a little butter and a lot of stale bread. The cucumber slices were too big and the cream cheese was missing in action. The salmon sandwiches were lovely. There was no coronation chicken. Too bad. It would have been a nice alternative to the incredibly unappetizing ham and cheese.
The scone was delightful but creamer fraiche is a poor substitute for clotted cream.
The pastries were tasty and the tea was plentiful. The devilled eggs would have benefited from less mayonnaise and a pinch of paprika.
But the most disappointing element of all was being asked if we were “ready for a box” translation “here’s a box for the leftovers. Please leave.” When we had only been there for thirty minutes including the time we spent waiting for our food.
Please don’t offer a 5 p.m. table time if you want people to leave at 5:30.
Would I recommend The Drawing Room to a friend. Yes, because I am hoping that our experience was just a start back issue.
I had a lovely experience at The Drawing Room. Great service, amazing food and a great little place to have afternoon tea!
The service was fantastic. Available but not all over us. The food was amazing and the setting perfect.
considering all the COVID protocols we were able to enjoy our time there. we miss the indoor ambiance but it was still a great time by the fountain.
Always an amazing experience! A traditional place to enjoy!
Awesome service and great outdoor table. Thanks!
We love coming back to the Drawing Room for high tea. It is an elegant experience with quality teas and food as well as service! Love this gem in NOTL.
Was wonderful as always. The food is always so fresh and delicious. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Been a bunch of times and I’ll go back a bunch more
Disappointed in food. Sandwich bread was dry all around the edges. Deviled eggs were also dried out on top. Seemed like food was not stored/covered properly. The Drawing Room itself was a bit shabby and in need of repairs to walls. Chunks of plaster were broken off. In the past, we've always been impressed either afternoon tea. This time has me doubting I'd go back.
Absolutely an incredible experience. We came there to celebrate my daughter's 7th birthday. Shannon was a true professional. She was amazing. Service was exceptional. Thank you all for an amazing experience.
