It was a great time with great food! My boyfriend and i both had the turkey burger - he got mashed potatoes on the side, i had the roasted cauliflower. Enjoyed our meals all around! We also split the spinach artichoke dip. It was fantastic! Thank you!
Lots of great comfort food. Pizzas were really good. Try the Evergreen! Ignore the “individual” size on the menu— there is plenty for two or even three if you’ve had appetizers.
The Dogwood never disappoints. I've been several times and have always received good service and a great menu.
Food and drinks were reasonably priced and enjoyed by all. Cocktail list was inventive, but we didn't love any of the cocktails we tried. Pizza, salad and appetizers were all great. We did not try any dinners.
Tasty and filling biscuits and sausage gravy.
My first visit. The traffic issues were a complete hassle, but The Dogwood was worth it! Will definitely go again.
This is our favorite Friday night date spot. We usually have pizzas at the bar, but this time we decided to try food other than pizza and sit at a table. Our first table, one of the high tops, was next to the loudest group of people screaming and we weren’t able to hear each other speak from across the table. Thankfully the hostess was kind enough to move us into the dining room. Our server was attentive but when my food came out cold, he brought it into the kitchen to be heated up and it didn’t come back out. By the time my boyfriend was almost through with his meal, I had to track down another server to ask them to cancel my meal altogether. The manager then brought out my meal and nicely offered to take it off the bill. We really appreciate that they helped in that way, but we were bummed to eat separately on our date night. We love this place, but we’ll definitely remember to stick to the bar in the future.
Unfortunately the A/C was broken and it was an incredibly hot and humid evening, however the staff was upbeat and made what could have been a really bad situation into a good one. Food was delicious and the staff were incredible friendly and courteous considering how uncomfortable and hot they must have been.
We made a reservation in advance for 12 people, but ultimately only 9 could make it. Since a few of us ran the BAA half marathon, we were later than expected and called to extend our reservation. The staff was extremely accommodating for such a large group with all of our changes, which I find to be very rare. When we arrived, they had our table waiting for us in a lovely private corner. The staff were very friendly, the service was fast, and the food was great. I would recommend brunch here for anyone, especially if you have a larger sized group and want to make a reservation. The dogwood is awesome!
Solid food. Good beer selection. Worked well with a 1 year old.
Great all around
Great pizza and specials! Service was great and also great live music.
I've been to the Dogwood twice in the past two months. Each time the staff was exceptionally courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. The outdoor patio was a pleasant surprise. The live music is a plus.
very good eggs benedict, comfortable seating in rounded booth, nice draft beers, casual. prices are reasonable. waitress very accomodating about it being a birthday celebration. all of us pleased.
Good beer selection and cocktail specials. I've enjoyed almost everything I've ever eaten here, and this trip was a good one. Great service from our waiter.
Food was good. I ordered turkey burger and it was fresh house made, not frozen. I also ordered the orange cosmo for a drink and it was very good and strong. The pizza gets a thumbs up as well!
The Dogwood is one of my favorite affordable restaurants in JP. I almost always get their pizza - it is soo good! Their cocktails are great as well.
The Dogwood is about 17 min walk to Eliot Hall where we went to see a play. I got the buffalo cauliflower and kale&corn dmplings which were good. The veggie burger was ok per a vegetarian. The pasta with meat sauce was decent . It looks like they make their own pasta which is the size of lasagne noodles. Our water was never refilled. The restaurant was very busy.
I'm a regular at the Dogwood. That being said, I usually can find something on the menu I haven't tried yet. On this visit, it was the grilled salmon with lemon-caper sauce, parmesan risotto and zoodles. Loved it! It was HUGE, so I got two dinners out of it. This is one of my and my boyfriend's favorite places to eat (pretty much our #1 favorite). Julie has waited on us more than once on a busy Friday or Saturday night and is always excellent.
Food was really good great environment
Enjoyable experience. Food was good. Only recommendation is to cook the gluten free pizza crust just a bit longer as it needed more time. The toppings were excellent and plentiful.
The Dogwood is a good neighborhood restaurant. Pizza seems to be their specialty , but I actually had a cod dish which was very good.
Stopped by for lunch today and I loved everything about this place! Great location, great decor/set up, sweet and attentive staff && some seriously yummy food! Thanks so much!
Great menu - lots of choices. Good value for the price. Menu changes with the seasons but keeps the standard favorites around.
The manager refuses to split checks and she is extremely rude.
Went for brunch and had the Mexican style breakfast pizza and it was amazing! Love the decor of this place. Definitely suggest making a reservation for brunch. My friend ordered a drink that was WAY too strong to drink but the waitress was extremely understanding and took the drink off the bill. Overall, awesome place, definitely will be going back.
An enjoyable evening meal for two families with younger children.
We made a reservation on the fly for a group of 6, a little over a half hour in advance. The reservation time was available and we received confirmation. When we arrived at the appointed time, I was told that they would not honor the reservation as it had not been made one hour in advance. Fortunately, the common table in the bar area was open. Not sure why you can book a time that the restaurant is not prepared to honor....otherwise we love the Dogwood.
We generally go to Brassica next door but decided to try Dogwood.
Excellent on all counts except that the noise level on a Saturday night with the singer/musician, was unbearable.
Every friend or family member I bring to the Dogwood wants to come back on a return visit. The lamb ravioli special was spectacular!
We love the Dogwood. It's our neighborhood go-to-spot. Consistently good food and good service. Staff are friendly and helpful and management is on site and responsive to concerns.
It's fun and lively and draws a diverse crowd. The menu has many options: the brick oven pizzas are great, they make a great burger and the main dishes are varied in price and type. They also have nightly specials.
Everyone was happy with their meal. Mussels should of been warmer but they were still good.
Love the Dogwood on so many levels. It's very close to my house (and to the T) AND it's a great restaurant, so it's a win/win!
The food and atmosphere was great
I had a wonderful birthday dinner with friends at the Dogwood. Excellent food: try the green bean poutine and pizza!
We came here for date night because we didn't feel like trekking into Boston. Loved the atmosphere, not too noisy or expensive. My steak was cooked perfectly and my hubby loved his burger. I hope to see some other creative dishes on the menu in the future.
Great place for lunch really nice lunch menu. I like to go in for dinner sometime. Couple of TVs going if you choose to go in by yourself for a quick bite. Certainly quiet enough where you could have friendly or work discussions. Definitely recommend this spot!
I've been to the Dogwood countless times over the years, and always have terrific food. This night was no different. And our waiter was very attentive and pleasant.
Food (calamari, pizza, fish/chips, cod sandwich and beer salad) ambiance and drinks were spot on for our family of four (12 and 10yo). Felt like a funky hip place that was still appropriate for kids! Our reservation was messed up and the hostess proceeded to tell us we couldn't be seated but once the manager was involved, we waited about twenty mins for our table--which was acceptable for a busy Saturday night. Will go back!
It was very hard to carry on a conversation - we were seated right near the back wall which was adjacent to the dish station and kitchen. The waitstaff were banging dishes really loudly at the station - - this was constant which made conversation a challenge. The waitress was okay. The food was great, but the disruptive atmosphere was unfortunate.
