Amazing spot to enjoy jazz! This place is slightly pricey, but it isn't overpriced aka it's worth the price of admission and premium on food/beverage. They do their best here to moderate the noise so the music is the main focus of the jazz club. The music was great, the food/drinks were tasty, the service was friendly/prompt and the ambience was perfect. I'd highly recommend The Django for a date or just an evening of fun with jazz enthusiasts.

I love this place! The music was amazing (The Gotham Kings were playing) and the food was surprisingly great. The drinks were nothing special, but were fine. The service was extremely slow, but they seemed to be short staffed so it was okay. If you go definitely book at table so you don't have to cram in by the bar.

I went to the Django last night for the first time. As soon as we walked in, we notice the music was way way way too loud. It was so loud that it took away from the talent of the performers. That type of noise level is great if you’re at a rock concert, but for a smaller intimate jazz prohibition type of venue, it made our night less than enjoyable. Turn the speakers down about five notches and it would’ve been awesome!

It was our first time here and we were impressed especially by the staff from the time we were ushered to our table and the host saw to it that we liked the location of our table to the friendly and knowledgeable server, Denise, to the person who assisted her with our food and drink. And the space was comfortable with good acoustics. We will return when there is a program of interest.

Fantastic evening at Django’s! We arrived sooner than our reservation, and the host sat us at the bar, then sat us in the front seat! We couldn’t be happier about the night, it was magical! Beef tartar was delicious and the drinks were on point.

We had the Oyster Rockefeller and Artichoke Toast they were lukewarm and not particularly good but would have been much better if served hot. At least the oysters. We had the Chocolate Pot and Apple Tart which were really good and enjoyed very much. The pianist and sax guys were good but overwhelmed by the drummer. Drummer was good but overwhelming in that venue.

Kicked us out before the music was over despite the fact they charge a cover for the music.
brussel sprouts not edible.
very overpriced food ($4 oysters, not special)
service terrible. not crowded but still had to flag down the waitress many times.
Won't be back and won't recommend.

My husband and I went to The Django for an anniversary celebration. We had the absolute BEST time!! We saw Endea Owens and the Cookout and they were fire! Everything was so great. The host was super busy but still so kind and accommodating. Zwenska was our server and she was on top of it! She was busy with a ton of tables, but we still felt very well taken care of. Drinks were well made and strong! We split the beef tartare, salmon entree, and berries with whipped mascarpone and loved everything. I'm gluten-free and was pleased to find several options I could have. Overall, everything was great! We couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate our anniversary!

The food was good, but the selection was pedestrian.
The ambiance was outstanding, befitting of a cellar jazz club from the 40s.

The service was good in general, but upon arriving the meter’d told us that they would be very busy and that we only had an hour and a half to eat and listen to music before we would have to leave. I reserved a table for 6:30, thinking that we could get settled and get our meal before the music started at 7:00. Had I known about the 1.5-hour limit, I would have reserved a table for 7:00 to maximize our music listening. However, while we were waiting for dinner to be served the lovely hostess came over to make sure that everything was alright--I told her about my complaint and she assured us that she would do everything that she could to make sure that we had adequate time to listen to the music. As it turned out, the crowd that they were expecting did not materialize, so we were able to stay as long as we wanted.

The music was provided by The Mike Ledonne Trio plus Eric Alexander on soprano, alto, and tenor saxophones. The music was hard bop, so for someone who is more into jazz standards, I found the music to be a bit “out there.” But I did appreciate their musicianship.

The overall value for a high-end jazz club in NYC was probably average. The bill for two which included 2 hamburgers and fries plus a bottled beer and a martini came to around $135.

Such an amazing vintage vibe… two carpeted flights down to the cellar at the Roxy and you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time…
Tufted red velvet seating adjacent to host booth, followed by small cafe tables and chairs (easily rearranged to make room on the dance floor). An intimate and inviting space to enjoy a live show. Check out their event schedule!

Menu not extensive, but tasty options for a late supper or snacking. Great jazz themed cocktails.

Wait staff is thoughtful and attentive.

Looking forward to returning soon!

I always love going to the Django for live jazz music and drinks. This time we had dinner, too and the food was delicious. Staff, service and the ambiance are always great.
The only disappointment this time was that they had announced in their website "Evan Sherman Quintet" would take the stage at 8 pm so we made our reservations accordingly but when we were there, we learned they will be on at 10 pm. Staff was accommodating, we thank them for that, they extended our reservation a bit so we were able to stay for a few songs but Bruce Harris was not playing the trumpet as it was announced which was a huge disappointment.
Overall, it was very good as usual and I will be back.

It was my first time there. After prowling around the hotel block I finally had to go into Jack's Bar to ask how to get to Django. As far as I can tell, there was no helpful signage. I was there to listen to the Mike DiRubbo Quintet, which became impossible, given the volume of chatter by patrons. It appeared that the room was filled primarily by downtown 30-somethings who had no ideas - or could care less - that a band was performing. The management made no attempt to ask the crowd to be quiet. Service was mediocre, at best. I was happy to leave.

I came to Django primarily to hear the world class jazz. I ordered the mixed green salad with a salmon supplement and the Mac n Cheese with broccoli. The salad was very tasty and the salmon was tender and nicely cooked. Unfortunately, there was no broccoli with the Mac n Cheese, which was good but a little short on seasoning. The wine list is well suited to the cuisine and I also enjoyed The Django speciality cocktail. Service was slow, but friendly when it arrived.

In the post pandemic environment, I understand restaurants are struggling to recover with staffing and service levels. Overall, dinner at The Django was a pleasant experience, and I absolutely loved the music. I'm glad to see one of the good jazz clubs returning to life! I'll return.

When the first artists of the evening are Walter Blanding & Ms. Kokoh, Barry Stephenson, Isaiah Thompson, and Joe Dyson, you know it's going to be a very special, memorable evening. Cocktail, dinner, and wonderfully personable service were a match to a gorgeously professional yet intimate ensemble.

Then, when Jenn Jade Ledesna took to the stage -- accompanied by Russell Hall on bass, plus piano and drums (sorry-- I don't remember their names)-- her high-powered delivery took everything up a notch. As I finished my fresh berries, guests were up and dancing!
