Saw Isaac Mizrahi show. It was great!
Amazing! FleureSeule is my new favorite band!!
Service was extremely slow. Had to chase down my server to gets my check
It's iconic. Not too crowded. Impress your date here.
We were expecting jazz but it was a Latin band
Great music and fun night out!
Great Ambiance inside the Lower level of the Roxy Hotel. Live Band, good finger food & exotic drinks! Sexy for a date & friend night out.
This is my second time going to the Django. Great entertainment, cocktails and food. Always a good time!
Great atmosphere and great place. Very good for night out. If you can look pass the rude staff it’s worth the time because the musicians are worth it.
I recommend if you check in don’t wait by the bar because they may forget about you.
Jason Prover and the Sneak Thievery Orchestra played some wonderful jazz arrangements!
Gorgeous place with a great vibe. Our waiter was quite lovely, but the food order was a disaster, taking nearly an hour to get to us. The 2 drink minimum is easy, but I think the $15 cover per person is a bit steep. I'd go back for a couple drinks and the music, but will never eat there again.
This is a nice restaurant in The Roxy Hotel. We came early and were shown to a back table but when we asked to be close to the stage, we were moved right away. The food was good, not outstanding. This is not a place for serious fans of music because the patrons were too busy talking to listen to the outstanding jazz being performed. Service was great, food was okay. Dirty martini was not dirty and the vodka though supposedly Belvedere was watery. I’d try it again, the movie theater was really nice, the pool tables and ambiance upstairs was great. Not a jazz club by any stretch of the imagination.
Cool, speakeasy vibe. Place is very small and what you might call "intimate." I was right up against the guy next to me at the tables which are kind of tightly packed in here. But the sound is great. The music on this night was awesome. We enjoyed it a great deal and worth visiting again. It is pricey, though, with the cover and drink minimum. We did not eat here so can't rate the food.
Stayed at the Roxy for our anniversary and went to the club downstairs. Really good time. Great music and fun scene. Perfect spot to listen to music and enjoy great coctails. Food was good. We shared small plates.Band that night was excellent and fun to watch. Felt like being transformed to a intimate 1920’s Jazz club. We will be back for sure.
Speakeasy vibe, tucked away in an almost cave-like themed basement of the famous Roxy Hotel. Fantastic ambience, great cocktails, and talented musicians. A must for anyone interested in exploring the "underground" jazz scene of NYC.
Really amazing venue for jazz. The atmosphere is super romantic!
Fantastic place, music was great. Definitely an expensive night out - the $20 cover per person on top of two drink minimum means you aren't getting out of there for under $100 for two people. But a great spot for a special occasion. I had the Love Supreme cocktail and it was excellent.
We love this place. It’s a great place to go with a special someone. I wished they expanded their menu.
We were disappointed with The Django
During the night, my waiter/waitress had switched to three different people.. I had to wait about 30 mins in between drink orders. And at the end of the night, they had given and charged my credit card to the table next to me. Then when I had finally decided to get the check, I was charged twice for my bill of $104.52. The staff was friendly enough to reassure me that they would fix the issue but the charge is still reflected on my account so I am still waiting on it to return the money.
Despite that, I thoroughly enjoyed the drink selections and the live jazz show. The atmosphere and ambiance was definitely noteworthy.
Super fun night out on the town. Great for friends to get together and enjoy live music. Less restricting than most jazz clubs in the city, you can come and go at your leisure and have the option of sitting at the bar if you don't want to pay a cover or drink minimums, the tables are lovely if you plan to dig your heels in and make a night of it. The staff is gracious and unobtrusive, the food is straightforward - this is not a culinary destination - but fits the occasion (and easily beats out any other food you'd find at other jazz clubs in the city), and the ambiance is one of a kind (comfortable while at the same time delivering you to a different time and place). If you want to see live music amongst a room full of good-spirited people, this is a great spot to check out.
Vibrant and energetic even on a Tuesday night (Cuba Caliente)! If you and your friends need a space with great drinks, live music, and room to dance, then head to The Django. Will definitely come back!
Upon entering this place you are immediately transported to another era. Food is okay, but the cocktails are amazing. Overall, great music and ambiance. I’d definitely recommend for a date, anniversary, or birthday. Make sure you make a reservation, it gets filled up quickly.
The Django never disappoints! The cocktails and service is great and the performers are always outstanding.
Host told us we had to leave 1.5 hours after the reservation. No option if we wanted to stay. Very odd.
Lovely, lovely setting. It's a shame that service and food are so mediocre. I was looking forward to a fun evening, but having to consistently "hunt down" the server was quite annoying. We were sitting for exactly 15 minutes before anyone came to us to even ask if we wanted water! Yes, that bad. The food itself was mediocre. Others around us had burgers, which seemed fine. Our truffle chicken and mac & cheese were nothing to rave about - a bit bland. Anyway, poor service and fair food = no need to return. It's a shame - the potential is huge.
The website doesnt have correct show times which is a problem in planning to go
The music is consistently fabtadtic and surprising and the staff is great
Wine list could be better but its not about that
We arrived on time for our reservation but were told we could stay for only an hour; the cover charge entitles a patron to two hours. Then there was the two-drink minimum--which might not have been a problem if our waiter hadn't taken 20 minutes to take our drink order. I felt rushed; service was poor.
The music was okay, the drinks were okay...but the overall ambiance was disappointing : quite expensive for the quality of the music and drinks (10$/pers for the entrance + 2 drinks minimum) ; the host could smile ; the waiter steals your credit card during the evening (thank you for trusting your clients! I felt like a thief or a con during the evening). You can easily find a better jazz club in the city...! No 2nd set for me.
The jazz club Django was so much fun. They do have a two drink minimum, but they were excellent drinks and well worth it for the entertainment. Next time I am in NY I will definitely have Django on my list of things to do.
The space is perfect for a date night. The staff wasn’t overly attentive to rush you out like some N.Y. establishments so you could enjoy the food and music. Only reason I gave it a lower rating is because the jazz band was not good but worse you could see they were arrogant. I do look forward to going back and hopefully hearing some better jazz.
Great and cozy atmosphere, live music, great service and good food... Highly recommend
Fabulous addition to the Manhattan jazz scene. Excellent acoustics & sight lines, good food, attentive service and a great vibe. Roxy Hotel is a good scene on its own for drinks & tunes before or after Django. Great for a date, friends and out of town guests.
This is a great little bar, food is good, drinks are yummy. Definitely for the tourists, as prices are extremely high. They should not charge a cover to NYC locals. I recommend going at least one time to see the place but not worth the $ to return. There are many more options in the city.
Fantastic place to listen to Jazz/Blues. Sound quality is great and the place is very intimate. Highly recommend.
Our server could have been more attentive to us. Had he been, would have been a five star experience.
Great place to watch a show. Good vibes!!!
Really great experience
Only 2 complaints were
1. that the hostess was not very friendly when we arrived at 7...maybe she could be nicer or have an open/close sign.
2. We had great service at the table. The food is embarrassingly expensive though....$24 for the most paltry cheese plate I have ever seen and we had to ask for the listed "local honey". 4 dollars per oyster.
