Food is good. They were out of all but 3 types of beer, none of which match the food. They were out of shrimp spring rolls. We had to wait and wait and wait for service even though the place was pretty empty. This could be a 4 Star with some better management.

Server was in a rush to push us out, as there was hardly anyone else in the menu. She tried to take a plate away that we were still sharing and it still had food on it. We ordered two dishes to split, yet she put it in as serve together, this without asking us what we wanted. She had the check on the table before we were finished eating. The lobster with noodles was excellent, the shaken beef was a tough chewy filet with thoroughly average flavor. Both are noted as signature dishes. We advised the hostess/manager (?) and she said it is really much better with chicken, and we should have said something while we were still eating. And gave us a $25 gift certificate. The dish costs $36 and we will not be going back.

The flavors were (mostly) on point, though my guest didn’t enjoy the chicken fried rice. I thoroughly enjoyed my vegetarian egg rolls, Buddha clay pot & lemon zest cheesecake. Unfortunately, there was a shard of plastic discovered midway in my stew, but the staff made things right by removing it from the bill & offering me an additional item. They even replaced my guest’s fried rice with another item of her choice. I’ll definitely be back!

I would not recommend his Resturant . Not a place for a special occasion There must be a managment problem. A great resturant starts at the top and this resturant has very few if any good attributes of a great resturant. Service is poor at best . Does it really take an hour to make Fried rice? , noodles? , or a vegetable dish? Then when the food was late… The server wasn’t apologetic. In fact the staff seemed extremely unhappy. There doesn’t seem to be a dress code… for the servers. I think it is “come as you are“

This restaurant needs a complete shake down.
New management would be a great start!

Gentleman at the front desk recognized we had a sleeping little one and suggested a more comfortable spot on the patio; it was truly note worthy and set the rest of the tone for a first experience; chill ambience, great portions, tasty, and my fav Lychee martini 🍸 everyone enjoyed their meals... my little one was comfy and so were the rest of us; we are fans of Crustaceans but this hands down is the apple not falling far from the tree, w it’s own flare🔥....we will definitely be back!🙌🏾✊🏽👍🏾

The food was tasty, well executed, I'll give it that. Which is primarily why you go out to eat. Although, I wasn't blown away by any one dish or drink. We tried the "signature" noodles ($40), a beef dish and fried rice. I think the price point, especially with the portions, is extremely displaced. In other words, ridiculously overpriced. Could be the location, but I've gone to other restaurants locally and felt well-compensated for good food. Based on this, I'd have a list of other restaurants I'd recommend before this one.

Im obsessed with this place. Been coming here for a few years and I like to come later in the evening when it is more quiet. The fried Calamari and Shaken Chicken are my faves.

The experience was just ok. Liked their curry but was not impressed with their noodles. Service felt fake friendly. Dishes were not coursed properly as we specifically requested. Busboys and runners were very efficient.

Great ambiance, great food, great service. Was bit noisy at the beginning, but noise died down quickly. Was there at 745band no waiting. Great appetizers and main course. Loved their lamb dish, and dungunness crab appetizer. Will definitely go back soon.

The beginning of the evening was great: we were seated on the second floor and felt that the hostess (older out of two) thought that it would be a more comfortable place for us. Overall service was good. We had two waitresses: one from the "special event" team, helping out to the regular waitress. Both were attentive however we felt that both were up-selling.
My husband asked for a house cabernet. The waitress (from the special event team) brought what turned out to be a $22/glass wine while less expensive cabs by the glass were available.

We did not want to order a whole crab/uni pasta dish since it would be too much food for us, with other dishes we ordered. The waitress (the regular waitress for the table) suggested that she would make it as a small side. She brought a plate with pasta (that was very good) and we had no idea whether it was a side or a full-size dish. The bill came with a charge of $35 for a full dish. After we brought it up, she took $10 off the bill.

On the way out we were passing the hostess, a tall young women. At that moment we were the only patrons in close proximity to her. She did not even raised her eyes to say goodbye.

We heard that our neighbors were not happy with the service too but nevertheless decided to try. Sadly, I do not think we are coming back.

They seemed to be low on servers. Our waitress was totally overwhelmed. We had to flag her down multiple times. Apparently their wine is stored upstairs and it took forever to get another bottle of wine for our table. We also got the wrong bottle.

Really like the oudoor area in this place but if you're seated upstairs it can be a little sterile. Eaten here a few times and weirdly the happy hour appetizers beat the main evening entrees hands-down. Its a good choice if you want to try something different.

Such a great restaurant, I have dined here several times and the food is always incredible.

One thing lacking this time was the service. The waiter was great: funny, friendly, but just too busy. We needed to get up a few times to ask for drinks and the cheek.

So I want to be perfectly honest. I go to the District once every couple of weeks for lunch. I usually get one of several items on the menu which I rotate based on my mood. The chicken wings is one of the best in LA. The dumplings are good. The garlic noodles are always good. I often get the vermicelli noodle salad with beef which is good. The inconsistency I found is with the pho. I always get the beef pho and sometimes with ox tail. Yesterday, it was raining and I opted for the beef pho. The perfect comfort food on a cold day. And I have to say that the noodles were absolutely terrible. The broth was fine but the noodles themselves were way overdone. Very soggy. I was extremely disappointed.

In the past, I’ve noticed on occasion that the noodles sometimes comes out too soggy. But when I comeback and order it again, it’s back to normal, not overdone with the right texture. But yesterday’s dish was beyond the normal level of inconsistency.

I was with a coworker and I didn’t make a fuss. But I wanted you guys know that there is a problem with the inconsistency in the quality of the pho. Yesterday was your rock bottom.

I will probably keep ordering the pho in hopes that it’ll be a good one. But if this continues, I may have to go and seek pho elsewhere.....

As for the service. It’s always the same waiter. I think he gets overwhelmed at times as I have to wait a while for the check. I know he’s trying hard but he may need some more help especially during the busy lunch hour.

I hope this feedback is helpful. And I will keep my fingers crossed that the next bowl will knock my socks off.

I love your chicken wings. They are the best!!!!!

Thanks

I read a lot of pretty harsh reviews, but decided to try The District, regardless. I was sadly not impressed at all. The waitress missed my Yelp check-in (free desert) and Only came by Once! The most disappointing thing was the value you get for the Price. I usually take photos. But there is nothing worthy of any photos. My small table was also overwhelmed with the amount of food we ordered! Sorry, but this place is a Big Miss!

Went for lunch. It was surprisingly empty, which makes me a little worried about the business. They still provided bottomless mimosas, and the server was very attentive about refilling our glasses. We ordered the handmade noodles with chicken, breakfast flatbread, and kimchi fried rice. The noodles and flatbread were fantastic, really tasty. The only thing we didn't like was the kimchi fried rice. The rice grains were a little too hard, and it lacked flavor. Had a good time there overall, would return, especially for the bottomless guava mimosas.

My wife and I had an early Valentines dinner reservation for 6pm. I'll be brief. This was a bad experience due mostly to poor service and mediocre food at exorbitant prices. After an hour of missteps by the waitstaff, we were left with one final insult. On top of the overpriced ($99 per person) meal, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill.

They use butter in most dishes but it doesn’t say it on the menu. Heads-up for those with dairy intolerances and more.
When we found out the kim Chi rice had butter, one waiter took it back saying he would take it off the tab. Then our waiter brings butter-free kim chi rice that we no longer expected nor could enjoy. Communication between staff on a very quiet night was disappointingly lacking.
