Went here as part of DineLA. The tuna poke app was promising(nice portion, tasty), then it all went downhill. My noodles were so sugary sweet and the lemongrass chicken skewers were tiny. The three of them put together was maybe 1/2 a chicken breast. My friend very much disliked her salmon kale salad. She said the dressing(in which her salad was swimming) was weirdly sweet and the piece of salmon was literally half the size of a post it. The dessert was chocolate mousse. It was super dry and dense. It was like it was old and exposed to air.
The ambiance is nice. Our server was great and friendly.
Maybe we just ordered the wrong things, but I feel like the whole point of DineLA is to entice you to come back as a regular. I've done that with a bunch of places I've sampled via DineLA. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I'd never want to chance it again.

Two Australians on holiday with limited time in LA, decided to go here for a nice dinner. When we arrived we overheard the waiter apologising for a mix up to the couple next to us (everyone is entitled to make mix up right?...) We cut the waiter some slack and he took our order. An hour went by and we were served a dish we didn’t order. When the plate was put down we advised it wasn’t what we had ordered, he agreed, left the dish there and was went to check on our meals with the kitchen, to discover our meals were not only not made they couldn’t remember what we ordered and had to ask us again. We were apologised to and told we would get a free drink to componensate, however the waiter went off then came back and had to ask again what we were drinking. I watched whilst he was made my drink from a distance and saw he put a straw in it and tasted it, when I received the drink it wasn’t even what I had ordered. Whilst we were waiting for our meals a new group entered and who I believe to be the manager asked the couple next to us to get up and move chairs to make room for the new group (the same couple who had issues with receiving the wrong meals. ) The new group overheard our waiter apologising for the mix ups we were having, and just like us they shrugged their shoulders and said ‘it happens’ and gave them the benefit of the doubt. They ordered their drinks and about 30 mins later they still didn’t have them, the waiter came out with one of our meals and I started to eat as by this stage I was starving. The other meal came out about 20 mins later so we both ate seperately. By this stage the group next to us we’re getting fed up and the waiter had to ask them again what drinks they had ordered. I don’t know if they were short staffed (it didn’t appear to be overly busy maybe 5 tables to attend to) or just having a really bad night but we were so disappointed, particularly because we chose to go here over some A-List restaurants.

First time but not the last time! Five of us (four having been born and raised in Saigon) had a great dinner. Ask for James M as your waiter and request that he make suggestions. Everything was our favorite - noodles, short ribs, grilled octopus, etc. Sat in front outdoor area and everything was great. We'll be back!

Poor service, quality of some of the food was questionable. When I bite into the candied shrimp appetizer, the shrimp was mushy- alluding to shrimp that went bad but was disguised with sauce and a skewer... my husband’s espresso was actually 1/2 of a lukewarm coffee, not espresso. We asked for a replacement and a real espresso was presented. I would not go back. We paid $18 for 5 small shrimp on a skewer smothered in sauce...

The food is really good. We had the noodles with dungeness crab and the sea bass both were excellent. Although the crab meat appeared too oily. For dessert, we had the bread pudding. It was excellent. Our waiter was James. He is top, top, top. James is always on point with his recommendations and service.

Most Vietnamese restaurants in LA are holes in the wall with good food. The District is an elegant venue with great food at a somewhat higher price for many entrees but competitive pricing for standard dishes like their excellent pho and banh mi. Their misspelling of the capital of Belgium, BrusselS with an S, in the menu listing of their scrumptious sprouts is my only complaint.

The ambience and the service was excellent. Jennifer make sure you are well taken care of. The only down thing is that the quality of the food was not matching the ambience. Probably because as an asian, got used to the asian flavor thats why making these dishes feel not authetic enough. Nevertheless, good dining experience!

Delicious! Everything we had was really good. Unfortunately we never received some of the dishes we ordered as the server messed up. And when we did reorder something, it was NOT the same! He was pretty lame WHEN we could find him! He was nice enough but NOT a good server at all, which kind of spoiled an otherwise delicious meal.

Noodle heaven. Sat outside - group of 4. Server was engaging & helpful (so sorry we didn’t get his name. He really was fantastic.) We shared octopus (spicy sauce!) dumplings, poke - then short ribs, noodles, fried rice & black cod. Short ribs were the winner. Sauce was delicious. And the drinks? The names are a little horrifying (love you long time? Yeah. No.) but the drinks are pure yum.
Can’t wait to go back.

It’s as if someone said, “let’s trade off the Crusteacen name and no one will care about the food”. Tasteless cod, Saigon noodles that were mushy and a chicken dumpling is a sauce that was a horrible contrast to the actual dumpling.
This place is not cheap and it’s certainly my last time.

Date night for husband and I. Great meal! Husband devoured the lobster and garlic noodles, best thing he’s eaten in awhile he said. Cocktails gooood, if pricey. The dessert was not exceptional but yummy and would absolutely return.

The service was not very good. long waits in-between dishes and the dishes and silverware are not ergonomic. When the busboy picked up the dishes with the silverware on it they
inevitably fell off - onto the floor or onto us! i asked for another napkin (cloth) and got
2 small cocktail napkins from the bar.

Reservation on time, waiter, James, was superior - my wife ordered a drink but the mug was too soapy tasting for her to drink. James brought her a replacement glass of wine, at no charge, and with my, too sweet drink, we waited for our dinner. The food came, none of which was particularly good, we paid the check' with a hefty tip for James, and left. The greatest letdown was that the only other time I had been there, everything we ordered was excellent. We won't be returning any time soon.

Met with a few friends for dinner and was thoroughly impressed. Our waiter James was amazing. Prompt and provided nice suggestions. We ordered a well rounded selection and didn’t leave an ounce behind. To start curry Brussel sprouts, grilled octopus (2 orders), salmon and shrimp spring rolls along with the Saigon Calamari. For meals the Vegetables Pho Soup, Roasted Salmon and Braised short ribs...Needless to say we didn’t have room for dessert. I’ll certainly return.

3rd time back, and while the District is good, it just isnt as good as it was when it 1st opened, and so we will not be returning. We had 5 dishes in all. The brussel sprouts were again very good, as was the flat bread. The shaken beef was good, not great. However the chicken wings were nothing special, and the black cod was practically tasteless. The beer list remains a travesty. The outdoor space is pleasant, and service was competent. This isnt a bad restaurant, but you can do so much better in the same neighborhood. Night+Market, for one, continues to kill it.

The food here is extremely over priced and not that good tbh. The brussel sprouts were soaking in oil.. drenched. The uni pasta was super salty. The walnut shrimp and the beef dumplings were pretty good though. But for the price, def not worth it. The reason why I gave this place such a low score was my waitress. This was my first time here and I had purchased a Gilt $100 voucher to give this place a shot. I gave the voucher to someone for my waitress. The bill came and the $100 was not deducted. I had to wave the waitress down again and felt her hesitation to credit me. That just left a bad taste for me. On top of the service lacking attention all dinner. I guess that was my first and last time there. I can go somewhere else and pay one fourth the price for double the amount of food with higher quality. Extremely over priced Chinese food.
