The District Bar
We waited an hour and a half for our food to arrive after we ordered. The steak on the steak salad was cold when it arrived and the other salad didn't show up for another 10 minutes after everyone else received their food. The bathrooms were terrible and out of toilet paper. We asked the waitress if it's always like this and she said "most of the time". I talked to few other patrons and they said it is like this all the time, but you get in to the shows early...not worth it! Eat before you go there for the show and just have drinks at this place, so not worth it at all!
We waited over 2 hours for our food prior to a concert, and was late getting into the concert because of the wait. We received an appetizer we ordered (late) and it was cold. Meals once provided were sub par. We were told we would get our meals comped and that did not happen. Did however receive free drinks at bar once in venue, but 2 out of the 3 of us were not drinking so compensation for the wait was not adequate.
I would only recommend this place because we get in first to the live music if we eat here. Otherwise everything about the place sucks. We order an hour and half before the concert doors open and still don't get our food on time. We have to bring it into the venue and eat while standing, no tables, ridiculous. Mostly the food is just mediocre and a little overpriced. Staff are WONDERFUL including the SECURITY staff, totally top drawer. About the food, why can't these folks limit the menu, have fast specials or increase the kitchen staff so the food is done faster?? These are not difficult fixes. And this is NOT based on one or two trips to The District Bar. I attend live music here 5 or 6 times every year and it's always the same. Please make some changes!
Show , Food, laughter, great place to meet new friends,
I was very disappointed to find that my 11 year old son could not eat there before our concert. We went somewhere else then to the concert.😞
We really enjoyed the flatbread pizza and the service was very good.
Service very long wait to take your order and wait time to get your food 30 minutes plus, wasn’t very busy and I only ordered a waffle fries, food was cold, wait was to long to complain when your time is limited.
Went to the district before seeing The Devil Makes Three. Got there early so that we could get early entrance into the show, and in hopes we could actually get seating, as my fiancee was recently in a car accident in which she suffered a fractured pelvis in four spots, her neck was broken, she had severe internal bleeding and several other issues, so she is not able to stand for long periods. She mentioned at the door that she is now disabled, and the doorman, of his own accord, got her added to a list where we could get in first, to accommodate her disability, which we were very thankful for. We sat and got some appetizers with a friend, and had a couple beers. The service was excellent, as were the food and drinks.
Unfortunately, the older gentleman that came to get us at early admission time, made some comments basically questioning my fiancees disability, saying something along the lines of, "well I'm old, and I don't have any problem standing for awhile". Beth's injuries aren't noticeable just by looking at her, she walks a lot slower, but otherwise looks fine. She is a Navy veteran, who has been healthy and active her entire life, and now, at 36, she has to use motorized carts to shop, no longer feels comfortable in a bathing suit due to an inch wide scar that goes from under her breast, to under her belly button, has nerve damage that causes only one eyebrow to function and pins in her back. She is still looking at a long road of surgeries to repair her pelvis and has been battling depression, due to all of this. She was a passenger in a car with co-workers, carpooling, when the accident happened.
I would still recommend The District, as everything else was excellent, but I would recommend some sensitivity training for staff, when they are dealing with people with disabilities. Not all disabilities are on the surface, and snide comments towards someone who is still trying to come to terms with a new disability, can be more hurtful.
Reservations were easy, the food was very good and reasonably priced, and you get early entry into concerts. It was the best concert/dinner experience I've ever had.
The servers are very friendly even during the busiest of time.
The Caesar Salad was delish!!! The Flat Iron Steak was cooked to the perfect rare!!
Love it when we can get into the District Bar for pre-concert dinner and drinks. And, especially happy when we get our favorite waitress, Natalie!
Didnt eat this time although I highly reccomend the food, beers are a little overpriced but the atmosphere is cool and you get into the concert early if booked in advance!
We were seated and served quickly. The food was great with portions so large my spouse couldn't finish. Our waitress was very friendly and fun loving. I'll be back.
Great for concert goers
Get there early and make a reservation to see great shows at the knitting factory concert house, Food is good prices are decent always a good time
2b2r show with friends and my beautiful girlfriend
Thank you. I enjoy the opportunity to enter The Knit without waiting in a long line.
The Margaritas were subpar this time. Watery with very little flavor and we got doubles which lacked tequila. Not sure if it was just because it was so crazy busy or what the deal was. The food was delicious as usual though.
Great place to eat and have a drink before a knitting factory concert. Had a great time!! Servers are super friendly and always helpful. Will go back again for sure.
This is not my first time at the District Bar. I do enjoy the availability of early seating at the Knitting Factory concert venue engendered by dinner reservations at the District Bar. But once again the food took almost 1.5 hours from ordering to reach our table. The order was incorrect, but we rolled with it as by the time the food arrived it was almost time for us to enter the venue. For example - our food came with to-go boxes as they knew we were going to be leaving for our seats almost immediately after getting our food. I am not ever sure what happens in the kitchen. Are they just this seriously understaffed on concert nights? One would think that they would check the concert schedule and adjust accordingly. Once the food arrived at our table it was cold. We found that to be a little odd, also. Ours was not the only cold food, as I witnessed another interchange with a diner and their waitperson over the lack of heat of a specific dish. I can understanding mixing up the request for a chicken Caesar salad and just getting a Caesar salad sans chicken, but food 'fresh' from the kitchen should at least have a little warmth still residing in it.
That being said, the waitstaff was pleasant and cordial, refilling our water and such, for the time while we were waiting for food to arrive. Will we be back? Yes, as we like the concert seating convenience. Will we enjoy the food? We hope to. Are we holding out hope? Not really.
Good food. Fun atmosphere. Was there on a quiet night. Heard that this place would let you get into concerts earlier than others. We received a ticket as 2nd in. But we’re probavly 15-20th in. Not sure what the #2 ticket was for or if that even works for people.
Food was very cold, and over priced. Don't go for food.
I was freezing, right under vent. Good wait staff. French fries where very dry. Was very accomodating with my to go brownie.
We were really late for our reservations and they still got us squeezed in. Since it was only an hour before the show we couldn’t order food but I really appreciated that they were still able to get us in and we were served our beers quickly.
Avocado Burger was great, I had it in a lettuce wrap. Get the parmesan fries!
Great place to go if you are seeing a show at The Knitting Factory. Portions were very generous. Wish we would have shared instead of ordering individual entrees.
Our service was awful. Took forever for anyone to even come to our table and we didn't get our food until right before doors opened for the concert we were seeing even though we got there 1.5 hours before the doors opened. Maybe it was just an off night, but if I ever go back it will only be for drinks before a show just to get in early.
Our concert started at 7pm I made reservations for 5:30pm, I thought we would have plenty time to eat dinner before the concert started. Nope, got our drinks 30 min after ordering, secondecd round of drinks were disgusting and warm. It was 15 min tell seven so we cancelled our food order. During my time I noticed lots of food being wheeled out i’m presuming it was catering for the entertainment. Obviously the time management in the kitchen was lacking.
We always have a good time here and the service staff is great. The kitchen was so backed up this time, and then the 3 bands that were playing next door all ordered their food and got precedence, so our order wasn't going to come before we had to leave and we cancelled the majority of it. The time from order to projected service would have been almost an hour and a half....that's something to work on.
Our waitress Natalie was absolutely amazing... We love the District!
Great Energy, nice get together s, great to met and eat before a show. Awesome for date night
Our waitress really took care of us. The burgers we got were very good, but would have preferred them a little less done. The jalapeno burger wasn't as hot/spicy as the first time I tried one there. We have always loved the garlic & parmesan waffle fries. This time we also tried the bleu cheese & buffalo sauce fries. Think we now have a new favorite fry. The tap beer selection is excellent. Great place to spend an hour or two prior to the concerts.
service was ok. girl who waited on us didnt know any drinks that we ordered. had to keep leaving to go ask someone for help.... brought back wrong change when we paid. only came to see if we needed anything once... drinks were really good tasty!!! food was cold when we got it at the table and tasted dried out... i make reservation for concerts every time i go to the knit but this was the first one we didnt have a great experiance.. but i will go again normally service is awsome..
The food and service are always good. We made reservations for dinner and drinks before a concert. Even though there were empty table we were seated at a bar along the wall when we asked to combine our groups of 2 and 2. It was an awkward place to sit.
Always great to eat at the District bar and attend a concert at The Knitting Factory. Our server Natalie is the absolute best! Every time!!! The food is so amazing! We find ourselves sampling from each other’s plates!! The staff is so friendly and great!!
Always love going here before shows at the Knit! Wasn't a huge fan of our server - she couldn't answer almost any of our questions, spilled water, took forever to get a towel.. Would ask if we wanted refills on our drinks/beer, and then have to come back to ask what drink was what, even if we all said yes..
Basic fare. The pork nachos were on the bland side, but the flat bread was great!
Great experience. Food was delicious though I wish I would have noticed the secret menu item option before I ordered lol will def check it out next time. Drinks were good and burgers, sandwiches and appraisers were on point. Amy was our server and she did exceptional. Will be back in November for sure if not before then.
Extremely hot! As in, little to no a.c. On a 95 degree day. My husband and I had to leave due to hear related issues and missed our concert. Recommend this venue only during cool times of the year.
The food was excellent and the service was great as well. The bar was way too hot, I normally do fine at these events but it was unbearable. I almost passed out from the heat, one staff member from the concert event did check on me and get some water for me so again, the staff was great. This place should be air conditioned during the summer it is way to hot. I would not recommend this venue unless it is a colder time of year.
