The food was tasteless, overpriced and small in portion. I really have had better food at a diner. I was dissatisfied and would never return. The resturant is beautiful and the service was good. Food was terrible. Don't order short ribs or lamb. The resturant was very busy and I didn't want to complain. A complete waste of money!
Celebrated a "50th" Wedding Anniversary with friends. Great food and wonderful atmosphere....a great night in all!
Party of 4 on Thursday of restaurant week. No chef on duty, just cooks, states our waiter when he could not explain the added ingredients in the short rib choice which we asked about, which my wife & I ordered, which was dry. Ribs were good, zero fat.
Our guests did not fare as well. The gentleman's salmon was not cooked to his degree of requested wellness, looked kind of like a runny egg, he had to wait about 5 minutes before he could get the waiter's attention to send it back to the kitchen which threw off the timing of the meal for four quite a bit. The lady's chose of the chicken pot pie really shocked all of us. It was a layer of thick crust over an what appeared to be a shredded chicken soup with a few carrot pieces and a very thin liquid broth. No potatoes or peas. The presentation was absurd. I have had frozen Banquet brand pot pies when in undergraduate school in the 60's with thicker gravy. The waiter lifted the crust and turned it over onto a bowl and proceeded to spoon the chicken SOUP onto it. I was embarrassed for him. It was not worth the ride to Red Bank. Restaurant Week, no dining room supervision, no chef in the kitchen. How sad. We will NEVER return, nonetheless we will spread the word. Amateurish and rushed. Molly may have rolled over in her grave.
AMBIANCE WAS PLEASANT, SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT...……….THE RACK OF LAMB WAS SERVED WITH A RATHER T ASTELESS WHITE BEAN MIXTURE...………....JORGE AND ALEC DID AN EXCELLENT JOB...…...LOVE THE VIEW
1. Started with a nightmare in the parking lot—no human help—nothing but cones blocking access. Explanation: we’re reconstructing the lot—park anywhere!
2. Menu is limited.
3. Expected crab cakes to be made with lump crabmeat—not ground up. At this price point I expected more than one would get if Burger King served crab cakes.
4. Cappuccino machine doesn’t work.
5. Won’t be back. This is not the MPI I remembered.
We held our wedding there 16 years ago, so we decided to go back for anniversary. Food was OK but overpriced for what you received. Restaurant only had 2-3 other tables yet service was VERY slow (dinner took 2.5 hours). Server kept taking our orders for each course, would disappear then come back several minutes later to confirm the wrong items, so we'd have to recite what we ordered all over again. Happened during every course. Then when we finally received dessert...she disappeared and never came back to the table. We had to ask another server for our check. He forgot the pen to sign receipt, took 10 minutes to get someones attention to get a pen to sign. Then when we walked out we passed our original server...and she didn't even acknowledge our presence, let alone say goodbye. Overall poor service.
Quiet ambience with great service and food. Will definitely return . They made a special occasion more special for both of us.
This was a special occasion with my children and grandchild as my husband and I celebrated 40 years of marriage. We had a delightful evening. The food was delicious. The staff was attentive. We were able to relax and were given plenty of time to enjoy the evening and each others' company.
Great restaurant when celebrating a special occasion. Service is wonderful and food is delicious. Drink prices during happy hour is very reasonable.
Great view and food!
Beautiful ambience. Nelson our server was fantastic. Drinks were delicious. Fish was good but the steak was well done even when medium was requested . Broccoli was extremely salty but overall food was decent.
The dining room is beautiful as always, great service. The food was good- just not excellent.
Nelson is an outstanding server!
As always, excellent service from Sue. Everyone's meal was wonderful. We were celebrating a birthday so a candle & song were included with dessert.
Was nice to dine in a sophisticated atmosphere with knowledge servers and fine food
The dining room of the Molly Pitcher Inn is a beautiful space with nice views of the river. The staff is excellent, service is great. The food however is lacking for the prices being charged. Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked but the red wine reduction was undoubtedly a brown gravy. The porkbelly appetizer, the salmon entree and the rack of lamb entree all had the same puree on the plate. Also the rack of lamb was cold when served.
The service and the food at the Molly Pitcher were outstanding. Our server, Nelson, took great care of us and made terrific recommendations for dinner. We had a wonderful view of the River. It was a great place to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
We had a fabulous experience at the Molly Pitcher Inn. We celebrated my daughter's birthday, and the evening couldn't have been more perfect. The view of the river from the dinning room is spectacular. The food was excellent, and our waiter, George, was the absolutely best waiter we have ever had. I can't wait to go back.
Over-priced, basic meal. No gluten free or organic options, at best it was Golden Corral but a fourth of the options.
Food was excellent and the staff was delightful
Always an enjoyable time. Whenever we have visitors from out of town we bring them there.
Service leave A LOT to be desired! I tried to book 5 pm dinner reservation and was told there were no openings- yet dining room was empty . Only 2 other tables there the whole night. I specifically asked on my reservation if birthday cAndle could be put in my mother’s dessert as it was her 85 birthday. Waitress made a point of letting my mother know that she knew it was her birthday and yet they never brought dessert with candle! This all despite the fact that they cAlled me yesterday to confirm reservation and specifically pointed out they had seen request for birthday candle and would accommodate. When my boyfriend asked the waitress why no cAndle, her response was “there’s a chocolate square in dessert that says happy birthday “- seriously? That’s unacceptable. When she saw how ticked off were she then later comes out with ice cream with candle on it, but by that point it was way too late. All around service not good either- they brought out amusé bouché at sAme time as appetizers and basically wanted us to eat quickly so they could take plates back. Not polished at all-she didn’t write down wine order and had to stop by again to confirm ( good thing she did as she had them wrong). - have I said the restaurant was empty? So again no excuse for this. During the courses they came to sweep up crumbs but just reached over us expecting us to get out of the wAy and not once did they utter excuse me. Took 10+ minutes to get her attention to order dessert as she had seated herself at the one other table and was showing pix on cell phone. Food was good but overpriced for the experience and very limited menu. I guess people deal with it for a nice view. Sad
Excellent fine dining experience, scenic water view, delicious dinner, outstanding service by Nelson, our waiter.
Nothing beats the views overlooking the Navesink. In fact it's where my wife and I got married. So we go back for our anniversary because she likes the nostalgia. Unfortunately that's pretty much the highlight of the evening. To start with, the "dress code" specifically "jacket required" appears to be optional. Far be it from me to be the fashion police- but either have and enforce a dress code or don't. The meal in and of itself was adequate- nothing spectacular; likewise with the service. However, for the prices (43 bucks for filet, 45 bucks for lamb) fairly underwhelming. You clearly pay for the view- the question is how much is the view worth.
We had a great dinner at the Molly Pitcher Inn. My husband and I were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Nelson was our amazing server and he made sure our dinner was a great experience!
Had the breakfast buffet. It was simple but good. Nothing fancy. Decent and reasonable.
We were at Molly Pitcher for a birthday lunch. The food is superb and the service is too; the view is spectacular. My only complaint is the pricing. We were two women - no alcohol, salad and quiche for lunch, shared a single dessert. The price BEFORE tip was almost $70. The price would definitely make me think twice about going again, but everything else there is spot on!
When we dine at the Molly Pitcher Inn we are treated like royalty. The ambiance is beautiful, looking right out on the river. We are not rushed . The service is impeccable, the staff very professional. The portions are generous and the presentation and food are great. The wine list varies so there is a wine reasonably priced or very expensive. We enjoy our meal and the relaxed atmosphere.
Beautiful view overlooking the river! Flawless service! Loved it
Not what I was expecting.
Celebrated my 60th birthday.
Beautiful view, outstanding service (thank you again Nelson) and delicious food. Could not have asked for a better way to complete another decade.
Thank yo Molly Pitcher!
I absolutely love the Molly have been going here for years. The bar is just gorgeous and classy and I love that jackets are required on weekends in the restaurant. Nice to keep a little class at the jersey shore. We typically eat/drink at the bar and enjoy the piano music. We decided to eat in the dining room on July 3 and it was a disaster. They gave us an option to eat outside and we chose that since it was gorgeous and there were fireworks along the river. They had one waiter and just getting a drink took 20 minutes. We had to flag him over when we needed something service was just terrible. The waiter was nice but not efficient and they really need more staff to get the job done on a holiday. We thankfully ordered dinner on time but the three tables next to us all placed big orders and the waiter had to come tell them sorry the kitchen was closed after turning in 10 orders. This is shocking and unbelievable not what I expect at the molly! Poor families had drinks and had to leave starving. Awful . I’ll be back to the bar but not dining in if service doesn’t improve. I also miss the whipped mashed potatoes with my steak. Molly you can do much better ! Don’t offer outside seating when understaffed. This place is too beautiful to not have top notch service.
I have eaten at The Molly many times and this was my first disappointment. At the waiter’s suggestion, I ordered the lobster BLT. The croissant it was on tasted like the inside of the refrigerator and the lobster meat wasn’t as fresh and meaty as I would expect from them. I should have been warned by the hard and tasteless butter put out with the rolls.
OTOH, the potato salad was fresh and delicious and the desserts were first-class. Also, the dining room which looks out onto the river is beautiful and elegant.
Jorge, our server was most attentive. It was our wedding anniversary, and he made it special.
Wonderful meal and service.
This was our first visit and we will be back! Nelson our server was the best! His attention to every detail was spot on! The bar area is so cozy! Loved the Patron Margarita!
We ate dinner on the outside Patio overlooking the water. On this night the ambiance was as divine as the food. We had the grilled octopus and shrimp cocktail as our appetizer. For dinner we had the ribeye for two. Dining here while pricey is worth every penny and then some. Looking forward to going back!
Was expecting an alacarte menu breakfast and was told Buffett only upon arrival. Not a deal breaker but I like to know what I’m getting before I get there
Just average. Was really looking forward to being there.
Wonderful food and service
best place for a long lunch No rush. Waitresses are great
