Lovely restaurant with a lovely setting on the water.
I would not recommend starting your dinner after 7:30- you will see the restaurant was almost totally empty by 8:30.
Also, the menu hasn't changed in years. A couple of specials but basically nothing but the prices have changed. Could use a seasonal menu change.
Service was poor. The waitress was slow and inattentive. I had asked the hostess to prepare a surprise birthday dessert for my manager, and it never appeared. Although the hostess apologized by phone, that's pretty poor customer service. The food is overpriced and ordinary. The only thing it has going for it is the view.
We have been going to this hotel/restaurant for many years for many different occasions & have never been disappointed. This place is excellent across the board.
I wanted to bring my husband someplace nice by the water for his birthday. And, while the view was very nice and the live piano playing in the background charming, the food was anything but. We each had salads- mine was an overdressed garden salad and his a flavorless beet salad with arugula and goat cheese. Perhaps they dressed mine twice and forgot his completely? I ordered the roast chicken dinner because I was hungry and wanted more than 3 scallops. Unfortunately, the chicken, although a decent portion, was flavorless and dry, the mashed potatoes bland and the spinach very bitter. I barely ate half of my meal. My husband’s rack of lamb was disappointing to him as well, his spinach just as bitter. We passed completely on dessert because we just didn’t feel like spending more money just to be disappointed. The service was very good. But I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Perhaps lunches and brunches there are better, but I will not be finding that out
Had the most delicious lunch that was presented & served by our wonderful waitress Susan! Thank you for making my friend’s 60th birthday so enjoyable Susan!
We had a great meal and the service was excellent. I will be back for the food and atmosphere.
Our server Hallie and the receptionist girl with blonde hair was so nice and helpful with taking our picture . The occasion was anniversary and they made it a night to remember and so perfect for my boyfriend and I special day !
Friendly service, delicious lunch! Our server was Sue & she was very knowledgeable about the menu. We had table by the scenic river!
Delicious meals for each of us. Dress code, so probably not casual, every day dining. Great for occasions.
I usually do not order burgers but the burger at the Molly was delicious!
We usually love having breKfast here but they were short staffed, and food was mediocre . Disappointing as it was a birthday celebration.
Service has declined.
Over cooked fish and meats
Good luck with your meal!
We had a beautiful dinner, drinks were perfect, Apple Cobbler was delicious. The only problem was the man at the table next to us was very loud.
I have had lots of good meals at the Molly. Today’s lunch wasn’t one of them. Soup came promptly, but waited forever for our entrees. When they came, there were four entrees for our party of five. One was simply forgotten. Finally came out 20 minutes after all the others. The potatoes in my chicken pot pie were grossly undercooked. Won’t rush back.
They didn’t honor the reservation we made on open table. After driving 40 minutes to get there the hostess told us that she saw our reservation but they weren’t serving breakfast so we couldn’t sit. I wonder why the hostess didn’t call or email us when we made a reservation that they could not accommodate. I received an email from the restaurant canceling the reservation 90 minutes after the reservation time ?????
Clam chowder and chicken are not special. However, the crab cakes, seafood pot pie, and short rib are excellent. The view is spectacular. Our server was excellent as well.
The restaurant had a splendid view of the Navesink River and the shore line of Red Bank. The service was exemplary and the food selection was quite varied. Our meals included the scallops and salmon which were both very tasty and the right proportion. Clearly this is a special place for that special occasion. I will return again.
Go for the view!
Eat outside for views, food and value.
The dining room offers a higher class menu and higher prices. The room is lovely, but otherwise unremarkable
From the moment that we walked into the dining room, I knew that I had chosen the right place for a special dinner. My wife was so excited by the ambience and the view. Our server was great, though a bit non responsive to an empty wine glass (I expect attention to a $100+ bottle) the food was outstanding, I had the seafood pie, and it was fantastic! My wife had the scallops, and they too were perfect. We were both there for work, but we will definitely be heading back as soon as we can.
Great location, great food and great service. I will definitely return!
A friend mentioned they were there and I hadn't been at the Molly for quite a while. Will go back and take guests. The food was delicious for a pre theater friends get together visit.
My wife and I just went to Molly Pitcher for our 37th wedding anniversary. We had a lovely time! The view was tremendous, the dining room was classy, the service was great and the food was exquisite.
Lovely view, delicious breakfast. They have some very creative items. Having it served beautifully on white table cloths and with good silverware always makes spending a bit more for breakfast a good value for me.
The dining room is never crowded, service is perfect, food is delicious. Brunch is the best. Views are amazing.
The ambiance is elegant. I love the fact that there are still some restaurants like this, if I want to be able to hear the conversation my friends and I are having. Not too many quite this classy. The waiter, Nelson, is a professional and was in excellent humor. It was lovely, the food was beautiful as well as delicious. I took a photo of my scallops, but all the dishes were presented beautifully. There was also plenty of food.
I had dinner here with family for a birthday. The food was excellent as was the service. Would recommend for an upscale dining experience.
Had dinner with my wife for our one year wedding anniversary and the atmosphere was just as romantic and amazing as our wedding was one year earlier. The food was the same as our wedding which was awesome. I highly recommend for weddings and anniversary parties.
Outstanding- Jorge, our server, was perfect. Attentive but not over bearing, professional and courteous.
Views of the Navesink are unsurpassed for Red Bank
Fantastic as always.
Celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and foid, ambiance, and most important --- our waiter Nelson was fantastic, thank you for making our night special!!!
Excellent food and wine selections. Great service from Nelson. Spent 5 hr enjoying the evening with close friends from Nevada.
Had a lovely dinner for my Fiancé’s bday. Even managed to surprise him with dessert. Everything was delicious but my fiancé mentioned his steak was a little tough. Aside from that everything was excellent. Even managed to accommodate my fussy 6 and 9 yr old kids.
A good restaurant experience requires a lot of pieces to fall together. The Molly Pitcher knows how to provide a wonderful experience. The service is excellent, our server Haille (sorry if I spelled it wrong) was probably the best I have had in any restaurant in NJ.
The food was very good we had the Tilefish and the Scallops with the Crab Cakes and Burrata Salad as appetizers both very good. The menu is relatively small and its a seasonal menu so it may not have enough selections for some but what we had was excellent
The view of the river is very nice and you are not rushed, this is dining rather then eating dinner
The restaurant is a bit priier then many but not out of line with the quality provided. We will certainly be back because there are things on the menu we would like to try
Lovely restaurant. Food was great. Wonderful view!
Food was good but nothing warranting their high prices.
Our waitress did not like her tip and almost hit my husband with the bill fold.
While the atmosphere and staff were wonderful and the food was presented very well, both of our dishes were not up to par; the veal chop, ordered medium, was very dry (over cooked) and the beef short ribs were dry and not as tasty as should be.
The food and the service was outstanding. This was our first time eating here and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to eat.
The service was perfect. We were not rushed to order our meal and were able to have a conversation while enjoying a pre dinner cocktail.
The entrees were served after we finished our appetizer. We were not rushed.
The dishes were not only creative but delicious. I had a lamb shank that was stripped of the meat and served asa pot pie.
Celebrated a friend's birthday with lunch at the Molly Pitcher - quiet, elegant, overlooking the Navesink River. Good wait staff, food was good - I am a vegetarian so they made a special meal for me.
Can't say enough good things if you're looking for a quiet, intimate setting. We were able to sit and talk for as long as we wanted and really had a great afternoon.
