What an amazing dinner and experience. The food was fantastic as well as the service!
We received a night and dining credit at Salish for our first wedding anniversary and we loved everything about it. We were treated to complimentary toasting wine and rose petals on our table, as well as delicious food and outstanding service. Thank you!
Always a lovely meal. Delicious food. And a view that's amazing.
I would have loved a window seat but did not get it. It was disappointing
The food was AMAZING!!! I had the salmon hash and it was delicious. I was very disappointed that I had made reservations at 12:45 and we were not seated until about 1. There were a decent amount of empty tables. The service was okay, but, again the food and outside scenery made it worth it.
We had a small private dining area toward the back for brunch with a great view, delicious food and an attentive Server. Will definitely be back!
it is still a very special place to bring out of town guests. It was a big hit.
Party of six in one of their private dining rooms.....total bill was just over $900.00...... Yet every dish was dry, cold and lacking in flavor. Unbelievable that the kitchen allowed this to happen...... and the same for the servers. They should have brought this to the attention of the chef before ever bringing out the food.
99% sure we will never go back, and will tell others about our experience.
Great food! Great food and wonderful service!
Great food and service. Beef Wellington was superb!! There was a baby that kept crying out at times which killed the ambiance. Otherwise the evening was perfect!
Delicious brunch as always!! One of our favorite places.
We enjoyed breakfast at the stylish Salish Lodge. Lovely ambiance and delicious omelets with their signature honey biscuits. Our waitress was attentive and the decor was lovely. I would ask for a window seat next time.
Excellent all in all. Good food, nice view, great service.
Though I had a reservation, I still waited 20 minutes and was then put not in one of the several open tables near a desirable windown, but rather in the back facing a canopy that completely obstructed the view. Those tables should never be used for guests, but especially if you have sections open and available.
Waiting for a table with a reservation is a pet peeve of mine. It's incredibly frustrating when I hear your hostess tell another guest without a reservation that the wait is 30 minutes, then I have to wait 20 minutes after my reservation to get a table.
The server was great, the food was great, so I will give this restaurant an overall good grade. They moved me from the table to a much nicer one. I highly recommend the Elk if it is available.
Anniversary very special and made us feel special
Fantastic food, great view (even on a drizzly/foggy evening), and great ambience. The waitstaff were very friendly, professional, and attentive. My only complaint was that, towards the end of the meal, the service got progressively slower. By the end, we wanted to get our dessert and bill and go, and that last bit took 30 minutes. Dessert was good, though.
Food was excellent prepared and presented. We were expecting to splurge on our anniversary dinner, but even so our bill came out above our expectations, so be prepared to shrug it off and just appreciate the wonderful food.
Will definitely go back for the next special occasion.
The food exceeded our expectations! Our waiter, Erik, and the other servers were very professional and attentive. This is a great place for a special celebration. Definitely expensive, though.
Always a beautiful setting. We were seated at a table toward the center of the restaurant when there were tables available by the windows. We asked if we could move and they were happy to accommodate our request.
Our waiter was excellent and very engaging. We ordered the Beef Wellington for two which is only available on the weekends. Overall, the dinner was excellent with only a couple things I wish had been different. The Beef was cooked perfectly but was somewhat bland. The accompanying sauce helped enhance the flavors, but I didn’t get any hint of mustard which is the traditional way of making Beef Wellington. The other issue for me was the dish overall was not very warm. I’m just not a fan of lukewarm food. It would be nice when serving this particular dish if the plates were warmed.
We were celebrating a birthday and the waiter brought us a complimentary piece of cake. A nice touch. We had a wonderful evening topped off with a short stroll to see the falls before returning home.
My fiancée and I came to Salish as a possibility for our wedding. Everything was exceptional and The Dining Room was no exception! Our server was perfectly attentive, our food was phenomenal, and our drinks were delicious. My only regret is that we ate so much we were too stuffed to try dessert. Would highly recommend to anyone!
This was one of the best dinners out we have had in a long time.
Everything about the experience was spot on. They added all the special touches from honey held up high to the finally the little cakes with happy anniversary on them. Special time.
Food was wonderful, very tasty. We were celebrating a anniversary our table had rose petals on it. Would highly recommend it.
I would recommend for the view. The food was so - so. It has been over 20+ years since I have been the lodge. The best part of my meal was the biscuits and honey. The dining room was extremely cold, the window wasn't clean on the inside and a couple of flies flying around.
We went there on my birthday. They sat us in a private room the best seats in the restaurant with the best view! Jeanette, our server was outstanding! I even got a little birthday cake with a candle. It was a memorable experience! I would highly recommend Salish Lodge!
Thank you for making our anniversary celebration special!
We had been looking forward to our visit. We were visiting from the UK. We arrived 20 minutes early and we felt unwelcome and sat for quite awhile. After we were seated and our order was taken we were told about the traditional heavenly honey routine and said yes we’d like it then the waitress forgot about us but we watched her perform the routine with other tables. Overall I’m sorry to say it was a disappointing experience.
We went for our anniversary dinner and not disappointed. It was as advertised: quite, scenic and a great meal.
Our server set the tone with champagne and the evening specials. Our meals were terrific. But to dine in a QUIT restaurant was WONDERFUL!
Nice small birthday cake
The real draw of trying this restaurant was the view. When making the reservation, I didn't worry too much because the restaurant's reservation information goes out of its way to say that "The Dining Room at Salish Lodge offers spectacular views from every table in the restaurant." That is utter nonsense and nothing short of deceptive. We had a decidedly non-spectacular view of the parking lot in the corner of an otherwise dimly lit dining room. Our food was good overall, but there are many restaurants closer to us with similar or better food at that price point (and certainly better parking which was challenging to say the least). We were there to celebrate a birthday, and I was honestly embarrassed over my selection of the restaurant. Unlikely to return.
The waitress made a mistake with an order and refused to take responsibility or make it right.
Also, the ambiance was ruined by the fact that some of the signing room staff insisted on vacuuming during our meal.
The service was extraordinarily special even for a special occasion junkie like me. The special touches like mini birthday cakes at brunch were unforgettable. Our out of town guests were blown away - and they own their own foodie retreat in Austin! Thank you thank you for a legendary breakfast.
Celebrated our 1 year anniversary our waiter was very nice and informative and made our ordering super easy! We enjoyed our halibut and the ribeye and we will be back again for another special occasion!
The food was delicious though I will say you have to like honey because it is in every dish in one way or another.
Our server was very knowledgeable and nice but I think the manager gave him one table too many. My mom wanted hot sauce with her food and no one checked on us until we were almost finished eating so she had to get up and find someone herself. Same with coffee. He was obviously very busy though so I don’t blame him at all. You could tell he was moving as fast as possible while still remaining calm and courteous to each guest. This was a managerial/ scheduling problem 100%.
The view was amazing and we overlooked a little garden where we could point out all the veggies going into our meals which was very cute. The ambience was beautiful. Overall, we had an amazing lunch and waiting for hot sauce didn’t damage that.
Our dinner here was amazing. I told them it was our anniversary and they sat us at a table in it's own room, there was rose petals on the table, and they gave is a glass of sparkling wine. It only got better from there. The food was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better evening.
The food was fresh, local, and tasty, the view spectacular, and the staff so friendly and nice. They let us bring in my ESA service animal, which was really helpful. Tip: valet parking is complimentary if you eat at the lodge, which matters if you’re wrestling a wheelchair.
We were staying at Salish overnight, celebrating our anniversary. They made our evening extra special with a dinner table covered in rose petals and sparkling wine to start. It was a beautiful setting, an amazing meal, and service to rival the best!
The only thing I would change is the mimosas being served chilled. It was a little above room temperature when it was brought to the table. The steelhead was amazing and flavorful.
Jessica was an amazing server- fantastic experience!
This is a fantastic place, no doubt but we need to see other people for a while...
There is a back story here, we were at the falls a couple of weeks back (with our 7Lb dog) and asked if we could have lunch. There were other dogs around (upstairs also) and they didn't have an issue with it at all and we had an AMAZING meal and experience. We came away super impressed that we found a really civilized place which didn't mind a well behaved mutt.
Yeah not so much.
We booked and arrived this weekend with friends from San Fran only to be told they don't allow dogs, Washington state law blah blah blah. Our guests ended up having a quick bite and we sat in the car. It was the opposite of amazing and frankly just embarrassing.
Don't get me wrong, I have no issue with a dog policy but be consistent about it, and then OWN the problem for your customers, don't just dismiss it as being our issue and done. Seriously if they even offered to put a table outside/give us takeout/bucket of slop or what ever, that would have been amazing but no- basically a big F-you wrapped in attitude. Sorry, you can do better, especially because it is otherwise a great spot.
