The food was very good and the service was excellent. The meals were high priced because you’re paying for presentation. The drinks were pretty good. The bar area had a DJ and a nightclub atmosphere which was cool. It was separate from the restaurant but easily accessible if you wanted to go there after your meal.
Lovely greeting from the hostess and warm table service. Food was simple , fresh, Delicious and perfectly prepared and seasoned. The only call out would be that the atmosphere felt a bit corporate (think Marriott hotel restaurant) and warm
And inviting ....
Generally ok meal, except my tuna (which I asked for medium rare per my own preference as well as the server’s indication that the chef recommended same) came out with barely a hint of pink inside, completely over cooked. Also the offered mocktails were very sweet: those of us who choose not to drink would like something more interesting to whet our appetites than a club soda or, in this case, a martini glass of dissolved sugar. Other than that, soups, pasta and burgers were good; ambiance very nice.
The food was great, the service very good and the restaurant was beautiful.
We had stopped going to the DIME b/c I felt it's food & service were lacking. We thought we'd give it a try again and were so glad we did. Obviously someone turned it around and it was a really great dinner! We'll for sure go again.
Stopped in for quick appetizers. The location is perfect. Drinks were the best we’ve had in Allentown.
I actually was a little worried because even though the food reviews were great some people complained about the service they received during their dinner. I have to be honest food is great and quality. Our server was great, attentive, nice and accommodating. I have nothing bad to say about her. It was my husband’s birthday and she was so nice to us and made sure he got a special treatment for his birthday even though we really did not ask for anything special. The decor of the place is beautiful and the view is great!!!! Highly recommend!
Sat in Bar Area by window overlooking downtown
Food was great
The shrimp cocktail and filet were out of this world delicious!
Food was very good. Ambience incredible...view was beautiful, decor very swanky and tasteful. Service? Not so much. We repeatedly waited for the server to check in on us throughout our meal - AND WE WERE LITERALLY THE ONLY OCCUPIED TABLE IN THE RESTAURANT! I also had provided a heads-up note to them through OT that it was my wife’s birthday...a week ago when I made the reservation. Upon our arrival, I pulled the hostess aside privately and mentioned the note in the reservation and got “Oh, well, I don’t even read the notes” What?! Anyway, she assured me that now that they were aware, they’d handle it. I was good with it. Dinner happens. Dinner ends. Server brings the check and announces “A little bird told us it was your birthday today and, well, we were gonna get you a cake and stuff but, ummm, we gave you your first drink on the house instead.” And walked away. That is not how a $175 birthday dinner ends well. It was our first time there and, sadly, likely our last unless they get a more polished and prepared floor staff. They did not represent the elegance of the establishment at all. Give me The Shelby instead ANYTIME.
Was great food and and a wonderful atmosphere. I will come back
The Braised Short Rib is wonderful, as was the Lamb T-bone Chops that the wife had...
Side dishes were of a very good size for sharing, so order two different ones...
Only issue would be the size of the font on their electronic menu pads...
Would be nice to have an option to switch to a larger font, as it was necessary for
us to fight with the menus... But we didn't have our readers as we were just out
of a show at the PPL center...
Will go back.
The Dime had been recommended to us and the breakfast menu seemed very appealing. However, the website did not indicate that the menu was not available on Sundays and was replaced by an ordinary breakfast buffet. After deciding to eat there anyway, despite a reservation, we were made to wait approximately 15 minutes for a table, even the the restaurant was not full.
The place seemed very disorganized empty trays were extremely slow to be replenished.
A verrry long line at the omelette and pancake station (one station with one person preparing the made-to-order food, not separate stations!) discouraged everyone in our party of 5 from trying any of those offerings so we were left with standard scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage from warming trays.
The bagels, breads and croissants might have been nice but the trays remained empty during our entire meal.
Having stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in the past and enjoyed the accommodations, we expected much better from the hotel’s restaurant. We were quite disappointed.
Fabulous dinner and drinks. Service was impeccable. Absolutely delicious!
Great location for great food before an event at the PPL Center.
First time at the Dime and won't be the last. Had a very enjoyable meal with really good food and great service.
Loved the ambiance! Food was very good. Would absolutely come back again.
Service was very slow. The restaurant had at most 4 tables full and we waited 45 minutes for a single course meal.
There with my family and felt like it was home. Service was impeccable and friendly. Our server offer recommendations and each was exactly to our liking as she suggested.
A true pleasure and cannot wait for our next family outing … this time we are bringing friends as well.
Hamburger was WAY overdone and fries cold. If your going to charge $20 for a hamburger it better be good. It wasn’t.
Cabbage rigatoni was ok. Scallops tasted like rubber, shrimp, ok.
Service was attentive. Looked like it might be a fun place to visit again, but we won’t.
Now I know why I couldn’t get a reservation at other restaurants in Allentown that evening, but had no trouble getting one at the Dime. For us, the Dime is a once and done place.
It was Mother's Day. Buffet. Nice choices for Foods. However the fish was cold, as were some of the other Buffet items. Desserts were excellent. Unfortunately, $45 per person I felt, was way too much for what was offered.
We visited The Dime for Mothers Day and had the buffet. I really enjoyed the selections. Our waitress and the whole staff were friendly and very good at their jobs. I loved our expereince.
The buffet breakfast was fine, but there was a very long wait for refills of the most popular items. Longer than normal for a regular buffet setup. The lowlight of the meal was that we ordered Bloody Marys, and the were awful. Pretty sure the wrong alcohol was mixed in.
On the flip side, our server was excellent, and all of the staff was great.
Cozy place to relax, food was Delish
Service is EXTREMELY SLOW, we ordered food and drinks and waited 1h to be served
Great food and atmosphere. They were understaffed when we were there. Wait staff was working as fast as possible but had too many tables to take care of. Would definitely recommend The Dime to friends and family!
The wait staff was exceptional. I have found the food to be excellent; nice portions presented with interesting side orders. Best if downtown restaurantsn
My husband and I came for breakfast and loved it! There was good variety on the breakfast menu. I ordered eggs Benedict and my husband ordered the farmers omelette. Both tasted sooo good along with the breakfast potatoes! We will definitely come back again!
Did not enjoy the food or the food allergies at our table
We had a fun evening out with friends at The Dime. The atmosphere and decor are amazing and we did not feel rushed. We were encouraged to stay as long as we wished. Soba Noodle Salad, Brussel sprouts and soup were so tasty. The only wish I have is that their dinner menu for the dining room have more choices.
Don’t come here late . Flies in my wine , complaining waiter .
I usually always enjoy myself at the dime. However on this evening I was a little disappointed. I was told 2 hours before my reservation there was a special menu for events I called in to make sure they would still be able to do the cheeseboard. I was told it wouldn’t be a problem and they can do it my server said he would see what he could do and for some reason the kitchen declined. I wasn’t told until after my other appetizers were already out . The desert had freezer burn literally had to use a cutting knife to cut through it. The duck wing I would try again. The salmon was cooked just right and my Manhattan was perfect .
This was y first time at the dime. I booked this reservation in December of 2018 as a Christmas gift along with Phantom vs. Marlies tickets for March 16th. I was impressed by the service, ambiance and food. I would definitely recommend this to all.
Amazing appetizers (scallops and the veggie medley)
Subpar entrees (md rare steak and pasta)
Another amazing dessert (lemon tart)
I had 2 excellent cocktails, the only thing was when they got busy in the middle we waited a little bit there to get a second drink
The breakfast was ok but I prefer not to have buffet style.
Great food but small portions.. be sure to get apps/salads to go along with your meals. Great food though!
waited over 45 minutes for our dinner. Arrived on time for reservation and the place wasn;t even half full. waitress kept forgetting the wine but refill son water came quickly.
We had a great pre concert dinner for 4 on Saturday. Our server was excellent and attentive. The food return was slow, and we were late enough that we missed the opening act of our concert. The wine list is brief, and my sisters were disappointed in the selection/price of the redz. I found a white that was decent quality and price. The food choices were varied enough to please all of us, including many vegetarian options. We would definitely return again when attending an even downtown.
Great drinks and service. Unfortunately the menu and food is just average. But really like the atmosphere and location!
Hostess made a big deal about us showing up 10 minutes late. Service was slow and main course served cold. Waitress was pleasant, but not attentive. Not sure if I would recommend to someone based on my first visit to the Dime. Maybe I will change my mind if another visit proves to be that this was just an off night because of the event at the PPL center. Although, that is why we made our reservation at the Dime in the first place.
