The Devine Affair Ratings and Reviews
Had great expectations as this was our first time dining at this place. Unfortunately, I was left a bit disappointed by their average level of service and food quality & presentation.
The chef came out to greet every table, but once he arrived to ours, it was clear he did not feel comfortable embracing us to the same extent. A quick glance and wave was enough for his required greeting. We will probably not be back.
Server was rushed and that ruined our experience. He said he would be back to tell us the specials, he never told us the specials. We had to ask for for our first and only bottle of wine twice. He brought the wrong bottle of wine. He brought the food and didn't return until we asked for the check. There's not many tables inside so we weren't sure what was taking all of his time.
Food was fine.
Although we do not live in the neighborhood, The Divine Affair is one of our favorite restaurants. We were celebrating my husbands birthday and had an excellent meal. The food, the waitress and the ambiance were all first class. It was well worth our 30 minute drive.
This was our first dining experience. Our round trip drive of 40 miles via toll road was well worth the windshield time. The creamy mushroom soup with bacon bits and goat cheese was spectacular as was the homemade creamy Italian salad dressing. Devine Affair got 'slammed' and a member of the wait staff called in sick but they were still able to pulled it off beautifully.
Having the chef personally deliver our soup and salad was impressive. Our wait staff member was friendly and professional.
We waited 45 minutes before we were served water and over an hour and a half for food. The place was not crowed but the owner was hosting his own party which took precedence over customers. This is the second time we have had to get up from the table to have a waiter help us. We have loved this place but our last two experiences have been less than acceptable. It makes me very sad
Restaurant is nice; food was very good. The server was great with one exception. The dessert that was suggested to me was never served me. I did try to catch another server’s attention, but they did not hear me. The server did not come back to the table until he brought the check. That is when he found out my dessert had not been served. After checking with the kitchen, he said “it wasn’t on the board”
in the kitchen. He did offer a dessert at no charge, but it was getting late so I declined. Probably would go again.
This is a very nice local feel type of restaurant that is very laid back and with good food. The wait staff was very polite and catered to our wishes. The menu offered a nice selection of tasty food and the wine list was very ample and not over the top. We will definitely be going back.
A chance for friends to get together for lunch and an unofficial b'day party for one.
It was a first time for lunch for two of us and a first time dining for the others. It couldn't
have been better. From the chicken piccata to the Devine burger, everything was prepared perfectly and enjoyed completely. And our waitress was there and efficient when we needed her
and unobtrusive otherwise. Tho this was a Friday lunch the place was way underpopulated:
good for us and the ambiance, not so good for the restaurant perhaps. We really like this place
and will certainly return when we have the opportunity.
I usually dine at Divine Affair for lunch, it's quiet, and you can have a good exchange of conversation, but this particular evening, it was more energetic and noisy than in the past. They also had piano player, and that added another dimension to the evening, and made it a bit louder. The food was excellent, and the pistachio crusted salmon was especially good!
The atmosphere was still very cozy, and I look forward to coming back for dinner.
We had a great time at The Devine Affair. We told our waiter we were red wine drinkers, but wanted to try a white and didn't know what to choose. He called over the sommolier, who pulled up a chair and asked us about what red wines we liked. Based on that, he pulled two white wines for us to sample, and we found a found a white wine we fell in love with.
The food was great and what a wonderful service to have someone help us pair a wine with our likes and our meal!
This was our first visit - unusual as it's so near to home. But it's on the radar now.
Our meal was a delight and, I have to say one of the best we've had in quite a while.
We each had a salad; they advertise as small, but it is a medium at least. All ingredients were
as fresh as either of us could remember having any time in memory. We both succumbed to the
lure of the beef medallions- rare- for the entrée. I honestly can't say that I've ever had better meat or preparation; my wife agrees. Veggie and au gratin potato accompaniments were
perfectly done. And with the bottle of wine: I'm sorry we haven't visited long ago. There are
many more things to try on their menu, which our efficient waitress said was in the process on being updated. They are strictly wine and beer.
I loved the salmon and my husband loved his Pasta BUT the LARGE issue is that I made it 100% clear on my reservation that it was my husband's birthday on OT. I also mentioned to the waitress when we were sat that it was his birthday. I THEN asked the new waiter that showed to take our photo for the birthday occasion....he did and STILL NOTHING special...I was very disappointed as my husband loves this place and feel the waiter really let me down. I would NOT recommend this place for a birthday!
Place was nice and quite . Service was decent, they got me a warm beer, then corrected the problem when I told them , but still charged for it , for an overpriced restaurant, they shouldn't done that. Food was good but as tasty as outback or a fancy frenchise.
Overall it was ok , not close to their fancy reviews.
