About The Depot Restaurant - Seaview

The Depot Restaurant - Seaview features casual fine dining offering a Chef's Table to watch owner Chef Michael Lalewicz perform his magic from a display kitchen. The covered heated deck adds outdoor seating. A northwest and international wines list offers 16 wines by the glass and six microbrews on-tap. This 125 year old train station from the peninsula's Clamshell Railroad feels like a French Bistro especially when seated at the 9 seat counter reminding one of the Orient Express. Northwest Palate claims "Lalewicz has food angels in the kitchen" and food writer Gerry Frank of the Oregonian declares "the Depot is one of the best Dinner Houses in the Northwest"

We love the Depot and officially "Favorited" it a long time ago. On this particular evening, we came for "Burger Night," which occurs on Wednesdays during the winter season. The burgers are delicious, and I especially love that one can get sweet potato fries as well as regular fries. Don't miss an opportunity to try Burger Night at the Depot!

My husband and I had dinner here with our son and daughter in law last Friday. We all loved the innovative menu. This is a small, nicely designed and decorated restaurant, quite a surprise to find in Long Beach WA. I will eat there next visit to the area.

We have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. No better place to eat on a stormy coastal night. It is small but it feels big.

Celebrated wife's birthday with appetizers of French onion soup and wilted spinach salad with mushroom sauce. Entrees with bacon wrapped quail for her and braised lamb shank for myself were delicious. Lamb so soft no knife needed. Dessert of Apple compote cake and a black cherry paux de cream. Excellent dinner and will return to see what chef Mime has in store next time.

The Depot was excellent as usual. My wife's Steak Killian was a perfect medium and my Southern Comfort Pork was absolutely scrumptious. One of our favorite spots on the Long Beach Peninsula. Can't wait for their Wednesday Burger Nights to begin on October 18th!

I have only heard good things about this restaurant and it definitely lived up to my expectation. Amazing food, great service and great atmosphere. Prices are more on the expensive side, but completely worth every dollar.

This was our second visit to The Depot as it is our favorite place when in Long Beach. This time we were very impressed from the moment we walked in as the Hostess/owner gave us a warm welcome. Being history buffs, especially with all things train related, we appreciate the building and the photographs.

We enjoyed the cuisine as it is imaginative, well prepared and artfully presented. The gazpacho which was garnished with corn kernels was our favorite dish of the evening.

The pride of ownership of the chef and hostess partnership makes The Depot a special place and we look forward to our next visit.

The food is consistently good quality, service smooth, friendly, knowledgable.
The prices are a bit high for our budget, so it's an occasional treat.
We have never regretted eating there though.
The dessert menu is also nice, good variety and choices.
I personally would like to see a 'smaller appetites" option, with smaller portions and smaller price. I prefer this over larger portions and taking some home.

gone here alot over the years, and this night was a bit disappointing on the food not
being as good as in the past. Chef subbing that night may be the reason, but maybe
more, don't know for sure. Service was great.

We have been visiting the Long Beach area for years and have sampled many of the local restaurants. Why it took us this long to find our way to The Depot is beyond me. This will be a regular stop for our family for every future visit to Long Beach. The menu selection is diverse enough that choosing which dish was challenging. All the more reason to return to check off each item.

PS - Yes, you should try the Southern Comfort Pork...

this is a very good, local hangout in Long Beach, WA. Seafood selections weren't extensive but were local and fresh and well prepared.

This was the first time eating there and it was obvious that the locals in town or frequent visitors like this. It's very casual (as a beach food joint should be!).

It had been 8 or 9 years since our last excellent meal here. We were back to enjoy a nice preeclipse weekend out of town and knew we had to return to The Depot. We were not disappointed. We both had salads, my wife had several small plates. The scallops were expertly prepared. The crab mac and cheese was very crabby and a great demo against the old adage of never combining cheese and seafood. The deep fried artichoke hearts were superb! I had the New York strip special with blue cheese which arrived medium as requested. My salted caramel brownie a la mode was on the house for my birthday. My wife had a very rich and delicious espresso-chocolate creams de pot. A great meal from start to finish!

Always reliable top notch. Would drive from Portland for the local fried oysters. Excellent menu choices, good service, authentic 1-of-a-kind spot is some of the best dining on the Long Beach Peninsula.

The food was solid. I enjoyed the scallops appetizer while my partner enjoyed the crab macaroni and cheese. Our entrees were good but unremarkable. His steak was so charred it overpowered the flavor of the meat while my quail was drowning in a tart gastrique. The brownie à la mode was wonderful; however, the berry cobbler was literally a fruit stew. Seating is cramped so be courteous to your neighbors who are practically at the school able with you.

We ate out on the covered patio as it was booked inside, but fortunately it was a nice summer evening. Everyone's food turned out great, but my halibut was over cooked. The chef pan-fried the halibut and finished it in the oven, but the crust was chewy and the fish was dry. Not what I usually experience at the Depot, but maybe it the chef was overwhelmed as the place was pretty packed at that point in the evening.
