About The Depot Restaurant - Seaview
The Depot Restaurant - Seaview features casual fine dining offering a Chef's Table to watch owner Chef Michael Lalewicz perform his magic from a display kitchen. The covered heated deck adds outdoor seating. A northwest and international wines list offers 16 wines by the glass and six microbrews on-tap. This 125 year old train station from the peninsula's Clamshell Railroad feels like a French Bistro especially when seated at the 9 seat counter reminding one of the Orient Express. Northwest Palate claims "Lalewicz has food angels in the kitchen" and food writer Gerry Frank of the Oregonian declares "the Depot is one of the best Dinner Houses in the Northwest"

The Depot Restaurant - Seaview Ratings and Reviews
Delicious as always! We started with the French onion soup, suburb! Then I had a "little plate" of the large 3 scallops in a mango sauce. The sauce was too spicy for my Swedish palate, but were cooked perfectly. Husband had the 7 oz. fillet, and was cooked to perfection. We dine there 6-10 times a year, and always is the best!
Our experience in the past several years has been awesome. Always the host staff and chiefs are very friendly. The service has also been good overall.
We were looking forward to a wonderful meal again with our friends and we all were sorely disappointed. There were so many people in the restaurant and difficult to express our concerns to the waiter. I’m sure the reason our meal was over cooked was because of the crowd.
When small amount of people we always get a tender juicey melt in your mouth filet mignon cooked perfectly medium rare.
Wel’ll go back just not on a holiday. It’s one of our favorite places on the peninsula.
We went here for Christmas Dinner, made reservations in advance. The food was very good. nice wine selection. I had the freshly caught salmon and my partner had steak. The dessert, apple crumble was way too sweet with to much liquid sugar but the ice cream on top was nice. It's a cute restaurant, small and cosy with lots of interesting decorating around
Did not enjoy eating at bar. Called two weeks in advance and return call put us at bar for our dinner time. Noisy, drafty from door opening and closing. One couple at bar was moved to a table that came after us (no reservation). Food was luke warm. Lamb shank was tough. Very disappointed expeeience for Christmas Eve.
I’m a regular and enthusiastic diner at The Depot. It’s one of my priority stops whenever I’m at the beach. The food preparation is exceptional. The staff is professional and yet engaging and friendly even when the press of business is hectic. Because the restaurant is an old railroad station the ambiance lends an atmosphere of coziness. Often diners seated next to each other engage in conversation. Thus a feeling of camaraderie and engagement prevails. This all adds up to a TOP NOTCH dining experience.
Fantastic experience! It was our 25th anniversary so we were seated at ‘the chef’s table’ right next to the kitchen. Observing the chefs cook was like watching a culinary ballet. Our food, the service and ambiance were all outstanding. Best anniversary celebration ever!!
We love the Depot and officially "Favorited" it a long time ago. On this particular evening, we came for "Burger Night," which occurs on Wednesdays during the winter season. The burgers are delicious, and I especially love that one can get sweet potato fries as well as regular fries. Don't miss an opportunity to try Burger Night at the Depot!
Celebrated wife's birthday with appetizers of French onion soup and wilted spinach salad with mushroom sauce. Entrees with bacon wrapped quail for her and braised lamb shank for myself were delicious. Lamb so soft no knife needed. Dessert of Apple compote cake and a black cherry paux de cream. Excellent dinner and will return to see what chef Mime has in store next time.
The Depot was excellent as usual. My wife's Steak Killian was a perfect medium and my Southern Comfort Pork was absolutely scrumptious. One of our favorite spots on the Long Beach Peninsula. Can't wait for their Wednesday Burger Nights to begin on October 18th!
This was our second visit to The Depot as it is our favorite place when in Long Beach. This time we were very impressed from the moment we walked in as the Hostess/owner gave us a warm welcome. Being history buffs, especially with all things train related, we appreciate the building and the photographs.
We enjoyed the cuisine as it is imaginative, well prepared and artfully presented. The gazpacho which was garnished with corn kernels was our favorite dish of the evening.
The pride of ownership of the chef and hostess partnership makes The Depot a special place and we look forward to our next visit.
The food is consistently good quality, service smooth, friendly, knowledgable.
The prices are a bit high for our budget, so it's an occasional treat.
We have never regretted eating there though.
The dessert menu is also nice, good variety and choices.
I personally would like to see a 'smaller appetites" option, with smaller portions and smaller price. I prefer this over larger portions and taking some home.
