As always, our experience at The Depot was amazing. Wonderful food, especially our dessert! It has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants.
I've always had a great experience eating at the Depot over the years! The ambiance is very mellow and relaxing. The open kitchen and cozy light is always something I love. The service is excellent.
We have been to the Depot about 7 times over the past several years and it is always great food, good service and very friendly staff and owners. We live in Oregon but keep going there when staying in Long Beach. It is a small place, can be a bit noisy at times, but has great ambiance and the Chef's table is fantastic as are the specials on the menu. We will keep going back and make a reservation if you plan on going as it often sells out. Thanks to the Depot for some wonderful memories!!
Food was all really good, other than my steak was a little overcooked, but flavor was still very good. Scallops were excellent as was the bread and special cheese that arrived as an appetizer.
We have been here several times, and the quality of the food is consistently good. The staff are all very professional knowing just how to pace coming by to check if anything is needed. We had oysters, and they were simply but perfectly prepared.
Parmesan crusted chicken was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. The setting is very intimate and can keep an eye on the kitchen prep work.
Best Rib-Eye steak in Washington. Clam chowder fantastic tasting but small portion for the price. Make reservations well in advance. Tables fill up quick.
We have been to The Depot many times and it -never- disappoints. DH had pan fried oyster dinner which was done perfectly and I had the prawns Bangkok yum. The food is always consistent and delicious. Service is friendly and competent. Go here. You’ll love it!
We ADORE this restaurant. We visit annually just to eat here. The food is delicious and everyone is warm and welcoming!
This was a special Valentine dinner. Naturally the place was busy, and the service was very good, extra care was put into this day by the management & it showed well. We had a great oyster appetizer, done in the style of escargot. Nice presentation for oysters. The bread was top notch, as good as any one might get in a fancy place in a metropolitan area. Seaview, WA is a tiny town on a peninsula that boasts the longest beach in N. America. (i.e. Lower one’s expectations for cuisine) That said, our mains were pretty delicious, we both had steak (a boneless ribeye was one of the specials of the day), and I cannot resist a char grilled steak, which they both promised & delivered. A bit much char, in fact. The vegetable accompaniment was perfect, simple steamed seasonal veg, perfect. He got mashed potatoes, but I was treated to a potato gratin, which was unfortunately done with heavy cream. Too rich. Things went seriously downhill with the wine. We had a Pinot Noir recommended by our server, which tasted for all the world like a sweet vermouth. Spices of all kinds prevailed in this wine’s bouquet. I am not a wine snob by any means, but I know a good wine from a mediocre one, and this was the latter. Dessert was a vanilla flan, the sugar had gone just past the caramel stage toward burnt. Again, when half & half should have been used, heavy cream was employed. This creates the wrong mouth feel in a custard, which is a very delicate & wonderful dessert if done well. If not, sigh, it was edible, just not very good. The service was so good, it made up for the other inadequacies though. I can’t fault a server for the wine selection, it was no doubt the best wine they had. I can’t really fault the cooks for using more fat, customers come to restaurants to enjoy rich food. There was a lot to like, and if one sticks to beer or abstains from alcohol, and likes a lily well gilded, The Depot is spot on.
Excellent food and great service! We had bacon wrapped quail and the lamb chops, both very good! Oysters for an appetizer were perfect!
Love burger night at The Depot!
I was excited to come back after our last visit. This was my birthday and I was so disappointed in our meal. The salad did not have enough dressing on it. So dry. My husband had the clam chowder and the clams were rubbery with not a lot of flavor. We chose to split the entree and that is how we got it. One plate only. The salmon was overcooked, dry and was literally in pieces on the plate. So very disappointed in this experience.
Thank you so for coming back and celebrating your birthday with us! We are very sorry to read about your experience! Of course we would have been very happy to give you more dressing. We do use fresh clams daily but so sorry if they were overcooked and would have been very happy to prepare you a new bowl since it is made to order. And we welcome people sharing but we can only cook it as a whole piece whether a piece of fish or a steak and then diners split to the portion they want.
The food, ambiance and service are impeccable. We traveled from Vancouver, WA to celebrate my husband's birthday and we loved everything about this restaurant. This is only our second visit and we will definitely return soon.
Thank you so much! We look forward to your return!
Great restaurant, been there a number of times and always had a great meal.
Thank you! We appreciate your support!
We have dined at the Depot many times over the years. Our family loves the venue, the food and the service - always friendly and engaging. Everything we've had there has been excellent quality perfectly prepared. My only thing is that I wish there were more variety in the menu over time. And a liquor license would be awesome, too ... a pre-dinner martini would make for a perfect evening.
Thank you so much for your support! I totally understand about wanting a martini before dinner! To offer liquor we have to put a bar behind the counter chairs which makes us non accessible so we just have not done it in our narrow little train station. I know only a few items vary when we change the menu 2x a year seasonally but we have so many favorites that it is hard to take them off.
Awesome as usual.
Wonderful clam chowder and a nice selection of menu items!
This was News Years Eve. Our son was visiting and we wanted to show him a great place to dine. He loved the experience and was blown away with the food. So delicious with plenty to eat. We had such a great experience. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable on the items on the menu.
Thank you so very much! We hope you can come back to see us soon!
Wondering service and food. Nice variety Can’t believe we have been going to this area every year and only now found this gem.
Excellent food, service, and ambiance. We live on the Coast...our favorite place to eat. The food and service are always exceptional.
Always a great meal and service at The Depot. Love the intimate and casual atmosphere while eating great food.
We are very fortunate to have a restaurant of this caliber available to us here on the peninsula. Service was attentive without being smothering and the food was exceptional. This where we take out-of-town guests to be confident that they will enjoy their meal, and if we go too long without guests to entertain, then we indulge ourselves.
Perfect ambience and quiet. Superb service. Very yummy dinner.
One of the things we look forward to when planning a Long Beach Peninsula trip is dinner at the Depot. Thanksgiving dinner was perfect! Our fourth visit over the years, never disappointed.
From coming in room the door until leaving, we were introduced to the finest experience we've shared with our friends in a long time. We were early for our table but the staff made it happen for us and we were seated within 10 minutes. The menu was full of wonderfully described choices. My salad was phenomenal, the rib eye steak was like eating the same in Elko, NV where I always find my "best ever" steaks. However, tonight, The Depot came through and this was every bit as good as the steaks we get in Elko. Tender, smooth, spiced just right and the accompanying sides just added more to the ambience and flavors. We'll be back. We hope there'll be for our party like it was this time. The staff took good care of us and made certain all was well with our choices. A meal to die for....loved every minute of our experience at The Depot. Vancouver, WA
Excellent food and service. Will dine here again without question!
Best burger EVER,
Awesome dinner and fantastic service -highly recommended -we definitely will come back when we make it down to Long Beach.
By far one of the best restaurants on the peninsula. I look forward to the next burger night!
had the clams bucatini pasta and the prawns, both delicious!
The pork & chix dishes as well as the salads were excellent...the hostess was right on her game...servers not on their game...had to request bread, butter, refills too often, again food excellent!
Great food!Always a must place to dine when visiting town. Will be visiting again for sure!
Creative and exciting cuisine. The staff were very accommodating and gracious. A wonderful dining experience ! !
Great meal. Always exceptional here. Best chowder in the whole NW
Anniversary 😎Everything wonderful!!!
The food (filet and duck) was delicious and very fairly priced for such upscale fare, as was the wine. Veggies accompanying the dishes were among the best ever, so fresh and free of drenching oil or butter. Service was good, definitely unobtrusive, perhaps a little excessively so. Quite a treat while away from the big city out on pleasant Long Beach Peninsula.
We always love to go to Depot when in town. The food is delicious, excellent quality! Staff is very friendly and attentive. Love the quaint atmosphere of the old tail car!
Best ribeye I ever had!👍😄
Very nice little restaurant with very good food, but we had to wait way too long for the waitress to come around during the meal, and then again to receive our bill. We could see wait staff standing around or arranging things by the bar when we were trying to get her attention to come to our table. We'd like to go there for special occasions but might choose not to because of the service, which is too bad.
