The year was 1943, and Jim and Alice Wimmer decided to take a big risk, buying a small existing roadside restaurant known for its char-broiled steaks. How fitting that in 2018, the restaurant's 75th anniversary year, the third generation of Wimmers, Amy Wimmer, takes the helm from her father Jeff and his wife Jane, bringing her own adventurous spirit to the Del-Bar, the same kind of spirit she so admired in her grandparents. Rich History • 75 Years & 3 Generations • Award Winning Cuisine While flattering comparisons to steakhouses in Chicago and New York are regularly made by visitors, Amy Wimmer still cherishes this restaurant, her family restaurant, as one-of-a-kind.

We've been here several times in the past few years, and it's always 5 stars. The food is awesome, the atmosphere is modern but old supper club esk. Service is great. Make a reservation, or you will probably be waiting. Check it out! We will be back for sure.

my prime rib was "luke warm" and outer pieces not to my liking (poor flavor and tough) ... have had better ... very little au jus provided .... have had much better meals at the dell bar... been going there since the 60's :) ..wifes steak/meal was great .... ..will just chalk it up to a bad night for prime rib....

While the food was outstanding, you may want to prepare for spending $100 a person (tip and tx included) to enjoy a superbly cooked meal. This place is on the Wisconsin list of best supper clubs and the food definitely lives up to that reputation. The atmosphere is less old school country club and more modern high-end restaurant though. Make sure you go early, enjoy sitting at one of their bars, and oddly enough, order an ice cream drink before you eat dinner! We did and thus had leftover steak and seafood. Both re-heated amazingly well the next day.
