The Dead Fish
Restaurant is nice, service up to par but the quality of food and presentation is overrated and the value is overpriced
We love going there for the crab!! 🦀 😋 and the view is always so beautiful!
Told them it was a birthday. They did not do candles or even bring a dessert. Service was okay. Waiter seemed preoccupied with bigger table. Overall, has gone downhill. We used to come here when we were young with our parents and used to be a wonderful experience. Now feels like a chain restaurant. Sad to see it going downhill so quickly. View is beautiful as always.
Excellent experience for a Tuesday night with the family. Great server who took care of business and got our hungry family of 7 their food right away.
We come to The Dead Fish on occasion. Ambiance is always great, service is always good, and the food has never disapointed. Overall, a great place to eat! Plus the view isnt too bad.
Everything about our experience was wonderful... with one small exception. Once we had our entrees, we never saw our server again.. my wife had to get up and find him to pay our bill... we will still be back!!
We went to dead fish to celebrate our "anniversary". I reserved couple days prior for 4 people which includes my son and my daughter and i did notate that i need stroller accommodation. When we got there the front lady told the other server to seat us at table 14, and she made a comment to make sure that the stroller will not be a bother to others. We went to our seat and saw that there is a bench and a chair which makes it a table for maybe 3 people. Table looks like its only for 2 people. We requested for another table, but they made us feel that we were a bother asking for another table. Mind you, my daughter was an infant, then my son with us. When we got seated to another area which made sense for a family of 4, they took away our stroller because they said it can't be in the way of others. No one offered us a high chair. I felt that we were a bother since we have kids. My family loves going there, but i don't know now after my experience. They did not even mention anything about anniversary, which i made sure I notated in my reservation. This was not a great experience for us. Also the steak that my husband and son ordered were both very rare, when they ordered a medium. they sent it back to cook more but still came back very bloody. My son did not enjoy his meal and for us this is a big factor as well since he loves going there the most.
Food, service and view was superb! Will definitely go back again.
We had a fairly large group and as can be expected, there we’re a few who didn’t care for their menu choice. But, we all agreed that the service was outstanding. All of the staff contributed to making our gathering enjoyable and memorable.
Lovely view; adequate food but nothing special; entrance/bar smells very musty. Will not go back.
My last night in Napa (I'm moving) and wanted to come one last time. Despite the Saturday night insanity, RyAnn made our evening fantastic. Crab chowder and sizzling combo - doesn't get any better! Except for no corkage either, so bring your favorite wine too!
It was for my mother in law’s birthday but I’m surprised they did not do the usual birthday greets and singing to the birthday celebrant. A little disappointed about that. Pay attention to people notes on reservations.
Food was good and arrived in a timely manner though. Service was just okay, wished a more attentive server but maybe we came in a busy night.
Parking is horrid but food is reasonably priced with fast, good service.
Wonderful place to celebrate my mother’s 76th birthday
We dine at The Dead Fish quite often. We normally sit out side or in the bar area. This was the first time in the dining room. VERY noisy. There was an employee who was setting a table, and was obvioulsly not very happy. Was more a loess throwing the place settings on the table, I was quite surprised nothing broke.
We will go back, but will not sit in the dining room
Chris was great. Food was on point. We love the DF
My sons birthday. We sat on the patio.
Always a great meal. Please bring back the halibut!
Our waitress is fantastic such a delight!
So friendly and accommodating.
Amazing environment and pleasurable staff. Our waitress was amazing!!! She deserves a raise.
Everything was great but it was very loud inside. But besides that everything was great and the service was excellent!!!!
Fabulous meal and great service. I love your place and my friends I brought from England was so impressed. Thank you !!
The place is amazing and so is the food and staff. Highly recommend.
My group of 7 guests, celebrating a birthday, had a ver nice time at Dead Fish. We were seated in a semi private area, outside, with a view of the water. The food was very good, service was great and the cost was reasonable. I would recommend Dead Fish to anyone looking for a fun get together.
I've been to the Dead Fish more than three times and each time it's a different experience. Yesterday was no different. The food was good but not overwhelming worth $25 per plate. The brunch just didn't meet my experiences of neighboring restaurants in Oakland or the city. We'll probably only go back for dinner.
Vastly improved since my last visit. Wonderful meal... expensive but worth it. A mean Bloody Mary... mmmm delish. Thank you Dead Fish for paying attention to your customers.
We had a blast at the Dead Fish this past Sunday. The food was fabulous, the atmosphere fun, and you have one of the most glorious views in the Bay Area. We will be back for more celebrations. Thank you!!
I like dining with a view. The deadfish grill offers a wonderful view of the Carquinez bridge and Delta.
We had a reservation for five and they were kind enough to allow us to bring our dog. We sat on the patio.
Eccentric atmosphere. Plenty of loud, inebriated guests which detracted from our overall experience. Food was delicious, but a little overpriced. Service was excellent.
We had a party of five including a 95 year old whose birthday we were celebrating. We were seated on the side of the main dining room where half our party was able to see out the windows to the bridge and water. This seating could have been better but was OK. We had fried artichokes and crab cakes for appetizers. I had the ice berg wedge salad which was OK, the bacon being chewy. Entrees were cioppino, crab sandwich, fish sandwich, branzino, and shrimp and chips. The little crab sandwiches were tiny. My wife said she would not order them again. The others liked their meals. I loved the cioppino and passed around samples of the broth on French bread and everyone loved the taste. The waitress was just OK, we have had better at the Fish. She brought out a candelabra and a piece of cake and sang happy Birthday so the guest of honor was happy. Over all, we were pleased with our dinner at the Dead Fish.
I was really disappointed this visit. We took out of town guest for dinner. Our service was great but the food. No. Not this trip. My fish and chips ( hard one to screw up). Was really soggy. I could tell my guests weren’t happy with theirs either. Our table couldn’t have been anymore in a closet. Another bummer as I had stated would love w decent view. As it was to celebrate a retirement. I will come back. As I usually have great food. But. I hope it is better.
I LOVE the Dead Fish. I’ve been going there for 20 years. I love their food. Something was off with the seafood on Friday. Within 40 min of enjoying my seafood tureen and seafood skillet, I broke out into hives and had welts all over my body. Had to go to the hospital for a Benadryl injection and steroids. I don’t have a shellfish allergy but will be getting some testing done, just in case. I just know that I’ve always enjoyed these dishes and many other at the Dead Fish but something was off with this batch.
Excellent service and food!!
What a wonderful place. Great food, amazing view and amazing staff. Will definitely come again
Great. I can’t submit this review unless I use more words. More words.
We loved our meal. I had the salmon dinner but it was kind of dry. Over all a good meal.
Awesome food and service, from parking to hostess to wait staff
We feel as though the crab feast has shrunk and the flavor definitely is hit or miss lacking consistency. We love going her but the server said they were understaffed and would do their best. Understanding but this is over $200.00 for 3 people with tip we were close to $300.00.
Absolutely love this place! Always delicious and excellent service!
