The Dead Fish
I don’t know why i keep coming back to this place I am always disappointed. Had Reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes. Husbands prime rib was improperly cooked andar finally came at the end when most had already finished eating. Chicken + pasta dish was not good; I barely touched it. My daughters chicken nuggets tasted as if they’d been fried with fish- they had a fish flavor. She refused to eat her entire meal. And this was supposed to be my daughters birthday dinner. Come here for the views and expect that your food will be mediocre, at best.
We had an awesome dinner experience!
Excellent service, food is local and very tasty. Portions are generous.
Our service was fabulous wish I remembered his name. We stayed as long as we wanted which was so fun. And the food was perfectly yummy.
It was my husband’s birthday so our family took him to the Dead Fish. Yes, it’s a little pricey but you’re paying for great food, fantastic service and a wonderful ambience & view! We will sit outside next time we go. Thank you Open Table for making reservations so easy!
Auntie 64th birthday
Excellent service and food. We had gift cards from Costco so that was a bonus
Definitely will be returning again very soon great food
Server was adorable. She made recommendations, and double checked with kitchen if didn’t know, as she was fairly new. All the food was wonderful and recommendations spot on. It was a beautiful day and carquinez straight was beautiful. This group only gets together every 2-3 months and they let us sit a long, long time to catch up.
My husband and I were looking to try a new place. Our friends recommended The Dead Fish knowing we love seafood. It was pretty busy but the hostess was very sweet and got us a window seat with a view. We waited in the bar (very tasty cocktails) and the table was ready in 15 minutes. Our waitstaff was very efficient without hovering and the crab, shrimp, chowder were all DELICIOUS!!! Watched the sunset over an amazing meal, can’t get much better!!!
Been going there almost every other weekend with my aged brother we know several waiters we love them
Our first time here and arrived and got seated promptly. View was right under the bridge on a clear warm day...very nice! Service was phenomenal. She was attentive and upbeat, and super nice! We ordered two bloody Mary's which were great, fresh cold water and warm fresh rolls. We got a plate of the most delicious crab cakes, on the house and wish I would have ordered more, they were so good. We then ordered oysters which were ice cold, very clean and fresh. Super good. Here's where we went wrong...we ordered from the brunch menu. I had crab Benedict and hub ordered the italian omelet. When they arrived, sadly, mine was only warm and his omelette was overcooked. While still tasty, we both wish we would have stayed on menu with either, salad, chowder, fresh crab or any number of the dead fish delights. We actually so enjoyed it regardless, we made reservations for our next trek. Ps, we also got tiramisu which was as good as what we had in Italy if not better! I honestly cant wait to come back for the ambiance and tons of fresh garlic crab!
Food was ok but I felt it was over price for the quilty
Always can count on a good time with great food at the Dead Fish! Highly recommend to everyone!
My second visit there and we did not care for the food.
The food was outstanding!!! The service was good, the only thing is we didn’t get our complimentary bread. But, that is not a big deal. The seafood was out of this world!! I’m going to bring my mom with me next time!
Unique location, delicious food, fresh ingredients.
Food we ordered was too salty who our guests did not like.
Absolutely wonderful. The Food was great and both of our waitress were very knowledgeable and respectful of our time and requests.
The food was good. Our server was pretty great - except- now apparently Dead Fish has a completely ridiculous policy of splitting checks equally.
They will only split the check into equal parts.
Dead Fish is the kind of place that 1 person may order a $65 platter and another person may order a $20 plate of pasta. Those 2 people should not have to pay equal checks if they split the bill. This leaves the customers to have to reimburse each other somehow due to this ridiculous policy.
To be clear, they will run all credit cards on a bill only in equal amounts, not according to what you want to pay.
Unfortunately, our food was not thoroughly hot. We had the Crab linguine lasagne which was cool in the middle.
Excellent service, generous cocktails, and lively celebration of my significant other’s birthday!
Parking was the worst experience I have ever had for a restaurant, anywhere in the world but the food and service was excellent but looking for parking can put you in a bad mood. Go after 8:30 pm or before 5:30. Our service girl was was a very happy person which helped. Main dining open area indoors is to noisy and crowded. Outside was perfect that night but we sat in a booth towards back corner so noise was subsided.
Food was ok, but price is too high for what you get. Worst part was waiter tipping over our red wine on us. He comped two desserts for us.
Great as usual.. food service and ambience is always great at this place.. it's always my go to place when I want to celebrate a special occasion or just have a great experience for a night out.. I would definitely recommend this place to any and everyone!!
Enjoyed a nice family dinner out on the patio in one of the cabanas! All great until a family with little ones were seated across from us with children who were quite active and loud - including an adult who kept winding them up. While I appreciate the entire family dining experience, not pleased when others dining experience impacts ours. Many other tables were also looking and appeared annoyed as they were not at home and clearly had some challenges with manners at what is a vey nice place to dine out. We will try eating a bit later next time!
Food, where we were sitting, service were all excellent. Thank you!
The best Prime Rib I've ever had!! The bread is outstanding always. Service was great, we received our food really fast. Will definitely recommend the Dead Fish to everyone!!
They were able to seat us in a private room in the back which was nice. Our waitress was awesome!! Everyone else that came in the room, the servers and such. No one smiled or spoke. It seemed as if we were a nuisance to them. I think the gentleman who brought us the bread and butter was kind enough to smile but the rest of them seemed like they didn't want to be at work or something. We tried the "kill them with kindness" method. yeah,.... no. Anyways, our waitress was amazing and ever so responsive and friendly. The back room did smell light mildew however. The mussels appetizer was ok. Our entrees were delicious though.
Garlic noodles with crab was the best pasta I have had in a long time.. excellent! Mashed potatoes were good. Sundae was huge & also good. Service was good. Beautiful view. Very busy, good ambiance. Friendly staff. Will definitely be going back.
Phenomenal service by Chauna (sp?) View was so beautiful. Good vibes. Food was average, not gourmet. View and service made up for lackluster black linguini with shrimp. Loved our waitstaff.
Had wanted to eat here for years and was finally in the area. Ordered SeaBass - overcooked, dry and stuck to plate. Read reviews after - saw similar reviews recently.
Great food and a great view. A fun place for that special occasion!
It was great, what can I say. Food was great, server was attentive, View at sunset was wonderful. Nice place.
Always great service and amazing food. They made my son's birthday a special one. Sang Happy Birthday and brought out candles and a free dessert 🎂.
Great place with great food and great service. My significant other and I frequent this place when we can, it is our go to place for our anniversary.
Excellent food, and service. Will most differently return
Food was ok. Salty and oily. Slow and bad service.
Very special place with great service and great food. A very complete menu with something for everyone. Well worth the drive from south bay.
