The Dead Fish
Weekend and Monday Holiday Brunch 11 am - 3 pm
We’ve eaten here many times. This particular occasion was our mother’s birthday. Our waiter did not greet us with a smile or make us feel welcome at any time which was disappointing especially on our mother’s birthday. The drinks were really good, the food was a little bland. No major issues but for the amount of money we spend every visit we expect the service to be better!
The Dead Fish never disappoints. I always bring my out of town guests there. The view outside is beautiful and the service is friendly. The food is consistently excellent.
The view is beautiful however the food is really subpar there is no love in the kitchen everything is bland/tasteless almost like cafeteria food you wouldn’t think you could go wrong on clam chowder (awful - all potatoes no clams and served lukewarm tasted like it came from a can) and fish and chips (overly breaded and just yuck, fries were soggy and the tarter sauce and ketchup we’re awful -both tasted as if they must come from huge tubs of generic brand Slop)
Even the drinks are watered down (we had mojito and sangria)
The waitstaff is nice but too busy and inattentive
Unfortunately really disappointing -too bad bc it’s super close to my new job and could have been a weekly go to.
We really enjoyed our meal at the Dead Fish. It's a very unique environment. We loved the outdoor seating!
My husband and I loved the Dead Fish. I had the crab enchiladas; I should have ordered the single, as the portions are enormous. My husband had the olive oil-poached wild halibut. We shared the calamari appetizer. Each dish was delicious. Our server was also delightful and helpful as we made our decision.
I do recommend having a reservation (which we did). The place is very popular and we were lucky to find a parking spot in the regular lot.
We celebrated a retirement with 9 people and had a perfect evening. Amanda was our server and she was very attentive and personable. The food was awesome, we didn't feel rushed. Our table was quiet but walking through the inside was pretty noisy. My third time at the Dead Fish and I am ready to go back again!
Came to celebrate birthdays!! It's was great as usual 😊
Not enough parking on weekends and busy days. Consistently very good.
Loved the Double Shrimp & Whole Crab! Was my first time trying fried artichokes and they were excellent. Their Crab Crostini was amazing! They may be pricy but well worth it in the quality and presentations of their dishes!
Had cioppino...was above average...though the crab was a pain to negotiate. My wife had the sea bass...slightly over cooked...but tasty in the lemon butter preparation...lot of sides came with her dish...potatoes, yams, olives, veggies...I also had the crab chowder...too dense for my liking but it tasted ok...though I thought it needed some pepper.
Dessert was very good...had the chocolate mousse ganache...definitely rich and delicious.
The food was fantastic! The noise level was unbelievably loud! The people next to use where yelling at each and drinking a lot. Made it hard for my sisters birthday celebration. We could hear each other. Our party of 7 was crammed by other large parties. Basically we were disappointed with the overall experience.
Thank you for making this gathering memorable for friends from Taiwan and a 20 years friendship. It was simply beautiful and great attention for the restaurant.
We were brought here for our anniversary for the first time. We had a 5:00pm reservation & were seated immediately. we were seated at a comfortable booth and brought fresh, warm bread that was divine! I loved the 1/2 lb. Garlic Crab & my husband enjoyed his Prime Rib. They brought out a candelabra & a delicious dessert as a surprise for our 23rd Anniversary celebration. I was an wonderful surprise to find such a nice place in Crockett. The parking lot was PACKED at 5:00pm so I know this place must be well known!
Good food, but pricey. Service could have been more attentive - we had to flag down our waiter 3 times. Thanks for complimentary birthday dessert.
The food and service was incredible! We thought we would be there much later than we arrived and they made accomodations to our reservations immediately. We were seated on the patio and had an incredible view of the bridge and waterway. The only complaint I had was that the party next to us had a blowhard that was speaking very loudly about how rich he was and how much he spent on this and that. Not the Dead Fishes problem, but it did detract from the otherwise excellent experience.(BTW, the bathrooms are meh....)
Had a great time we celebrate our anniversary food was really good except the lasagna was a little bit salty other than that everything was great
The Dead Fish is awesome. Very romantic spot. Food was great, view is awesome.
Our server was awesome! We have had her wait on us a few years in a row on my birthday. This place is such a treat! The crab is always great.
Food was great. Boyfriend ordered fish and I ordered the braised beef. Everything was delicious. Getting waited on took a while. They were busy for a Thursday night. But the service was good other than that.
A quiet place to go have a good meal and enjoy the conversation of your date. Quiet atmosphere and good service and food.
Great restaurant....always a pleasure to have a night out here!
We have been at the Dead Fish several times and always got good service. When we went on August 7, 2018, we were seated in the main dining room. I believe Chris was our waiter. The service was terrible. He never acknowledged us, and we had to ask to get our first drinks and bread. After that we had to continue to flag someone down to get additional things like our appetizer, more drinks, our main food. The food was good but the service really put a damper on the whole experience. And to top it off the people sitting next to us were so loud. Their voices just overtook the whole dining room. I know that is no fault of this restaurant but it was the icing on the cake! Don't think I will ever plan to go here again for any kind of celebration. Hopefully they can improve on service because it is a unique restaurant, but for the price of the food you should get outstanding service.
Dining at The Dead Fish is a lovely and special experience. It's in a beautiful spot and the outdoor seating lends itself to great views. Both the food is just ok, not outstanding. On Tuesday night, the service was also ok, not outstanding. Will return because of the atmosphere and seafood but the food is just ok.
Another great dinner at the Dead Fish. Food was solid and it is always great to have no corkage on wine we bring.
Our waitress was lovely! Really enjoy this place!
The place is overrated. Crab appetizer too expensive in comparison to amount of crab. Food is average. I have had much better crab for a lot less money.
Service was outstanding from the beginning. Our server was great and recommended great food. Our table was outside facing the waterfront. The experience was outstanding
A friend recommended us to find here, as we have been a similar experience to the “Fish market” on the SF peninsula. Very wide menu of fresh seafood, great view, good service, nice atmosphere. We plan to make it back at least once a month to explore the rest of what they have to offer.
mediocre food, nice view , good service, tough parking
A Northern California gem. Well worth the drive from Sacramento and always a place to stop coming home from The City
One of the best seafood experiences ever. This coming from a Bay Area native who has lived in Vancouver BC for the past 6 years. Highly recommended!
The only bad thing about this place is that the parking sucks! I usually always have to park way up in the residential hills and walk all the way down. Then walking back up the hills with a full stomach isn’t fun either.
Wonderful view, amazing staff, and delicious food!
Absolutely lovely setting. The food was wonderful, service was great, view was fantastic. One of our very favorite restaurants ~ though parking is always an adventure!
Food wasn't as good as in past dining experiences there.
Great food, ambiance and service was top notched..the atmosphere and decor was amazing..the outdoor view was phenomenal..great place for an evening out with friends or even a lunch date
We have been there many times and we liked it so we invited out friends for a get together that night and the food was very different the Crab which we paid a lot was so dry the sauce was really salty. We liked the Cioppino and that's it.
This place was very good with their service as well as the food. It is nice to get out work family on special occasions
We ate on the patio and had a fabulous water view. Beautiful setting as the sun was going down. Staff are attentive and service is excellent. I had the Haibut and it was delicious. My husband had the Prime rib which was also excellent. They allow you to bring your own wine and champagne and dont charge a corkage fee. Highly recommend for a special occation 😊
