We weren’t seated until 40 minutes after our original reservation time.
Another excellent meal! Hard to go wrong choosing any fish, everything tastes amazing. Service is awesome.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere and view of the Bay were wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone and cannot wait to be going back again in the future.
Once again this place is amazing!! The food was great.. our waiter was also amazing!! We will be returning
Had a great lunch. The food came quickly and was hot and tasty. During the meal the waiter only came by once. I would’ve gotten another glass of wine but the waiter was not anywhere. We just had refills on our water.
The noise level was very loud but it was super busy.
Love the location. everyone demonstrated excellent. customer skills from the greeter, to the person who took us to our table, to the waitress and finally to the person who served us water and cleared our plates.
My wife waited 12 minutes for a refill on soda mxkxkxk
They blame open table for one to one half hour hour wait with a reservation. staff is rude, thoughtless and angry.
Bathroom is a disgrace and a health hazard.. out of necessary supplies with used toilet paper on the floor that people walk out with on their shoes into the restaurant.
Health department needs to pay a visit.
WE ARRIVED AT 7:00 PM AND THEY SEATED US RIGHT AWAY. I HAD REQUESTED AN OUTDOOR PATIO TABLE ON YOUR SITE IN COMMENTS SECTION, THEY SAID WE HAVE NO PATIO SEATING AND IF YOU WANT IT YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT 45 MINUTES. MY WIFE WAS UPSET BECAUSE WE HAD GUESTS FROM OUT OF TOWN AND WANTED A SEAT WITH VIEW OF THE WATER. FOOD WAS GREAT AND SERVICE WAS GREAT BUT MY REQUEST ON YOUR SITE WAS NOT HONORED.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Dead Fish! It has been my go to for special occasions since my first visit 6 years ago. The food is always fantastic! The view is AMAZING (always request outdoor seating). Last night however, was different. The menu has changed and if you are looking for the same seamless experience as before the pandemic, I would wait a few more weeks.
I made a reservation for 3 people at 7:00 pm and requested outside seating. We arrived at 6:45 and stood in line for probably 20 minutes to get seated. The line was ALL reservations. When it was finally our turn, they were going to sit us inside. I politely told the gentleman that I had specifically requested outside. He moved us to the lower patio area. Not the best view but still decent.
Service was good. Our server was great about checking in with us and making sure we were doing out. She was also very apologetic when it took almost 30 minutes for us to get our drinks from the bar. However, the food was amazing and we left happy.
I would say maybe a little more training would have been helpful before the full open. Also, instead of trying to recoup all of the losses in one night by packing people in, keep it simple and focus on the customers needs a little more.
Very dissatisfied! They were not prepared to reopen. Understaffed a d extremely busy. Food was way below the standard and no comparison to when we last ate there.
Prime rib and sea bass we ordered had to be sent back!
The food is always good; the view always wonderful! A little off on service, but you could see how hard they were working, and with coming back from the pandemic, a few small bumps are expected. We love coming here for family occasions!
Our table wasn’t ready upon arrival. Flies in our dining area & on food. Table wasn’t cleared/clean prior to taking us to the table.
Great service, incredible food, spectacular views, can’t ask for much more. Definitely recommend.
I was so looking forward to a night out at your restaurant.
I could overlook the understaffing considering what you have had to go through the past year.
My disappointments for one would be the Mojito was so off with not fresh or enough mint to give it a similarity of a Mojito plus there was either no or not enough simple syrup. I didn't even bother drinking it. I didn't want to bother our waiter, which I don't recall him introducing himself. He was very attentive to our needs.
My bass was done perfectly and was very fresh, but the side dish lacked any flavor with small chopped-up color.
I did like the reservations online making it quick and easy. I don't see myself returning even though the view can not be more spectacular, but I would choose Bella Siena in Benicia my go-to place with a 5-star rating in my opinion.
It was a bit pricy, but good food—especially the fish!
Garlic roasted crabs always A+++. Lots of butter and roasted garlic bathing the not roasted crab. A bit high on the price, but that’s ok - I’ve been here 20 times. Service a bit slow because server had 14 tables - they need staff - so I give them a pass on that - no problem. Food came out quick. Views are always great - best location possible.
Good food..service was just okay. Waiter didn't check in. We needed clean plates
Flys were all around. No excuses. An insect zapper would resolve the issue. Food was cold and flavorless. Service was very slow. Server didn't speak enough English to understand question about whether melt was served open-faced. Now charging for bread but not disclosing the change. Special occasion not acknowledged. First visit since Covid shut down. Will be the last if they don't get it together.
The story behind the name is as wonderful as the food. At lunch, might have been my allergies but a favorite dish, fresh clam steamers, were in a broth that was bland, not seasoned as tasty per usual. Unusual.
Everything was good except half of our party’s food arrived first and then the rest of us waited nearly 10 minutes for ours, when the first set was almost finished. Our server provided no explanation for the delay. Food and drinks were great as usual.
The portions are very very generous. The noise level was a little loud for me.
This place is hit or miss with the food. I've been there many times and it's always the same - either really good or just okay. This time it was just okay and not as flavorful as past visits. The service was lacking, too. The staff was inattentive and slow with drinks and didn't bus the table after repeatedly promising to do so. Maybe they were understaffed because of COVID? I don't know. I'm pulling for them to improve, however, because I really like them when they're ON.
As usual the Dead Fish was outstanding. The food and service was great.
My wife, a friend and myself were here to celebrate our friend’s birthday. We are glad to see the Dead Fish is still in business and busy. The food was great as always and the service was good. The only down side our server did not ask if we wanted dessert or coffee after we finished our lunch. I guess she assumed we were done and brought the check without asking. Also I know you use to do a little special thing when it was someone’s birthday, etc. I am guessing you no longer do it, which is too bad.
Our wait staff, Nicci, was excellent. She provided wonderful service and was attentive to our needs.
great view over the water and very good fish. Shellfish less good
We were celebrating a 60th birthday with family. Our food and service were outstanding! Definitely recommend the crab, the sea bass (in lemon butter with capers) and fish stew. We had the crab crostini with smoked salmon and avocado was also superb!
Food was delicious but your restaurant has many flies and that was very disgusting to me . I have been waiting all year for my birthday dinner at dead fish and there were more than 4 flies flying around my table while eating, dead flies on the ground . Very nasty
The Best. Period.
The food was good, a little salty. Today I'm eating my leftovers and it tastes better than it did yesterday.
The price is steep for a casual place to go for lunch. I recommend they serve a lunch menu to serve until 3 pm .
Our waitress was darling and worked hard. I also recommend telling your guests the bread is no longer free. I was charged x 2. My bill was just a little under $200 for only two adults.
Waited outside 20 min past our reservation time because staff didn't announce that reservations were being seated. Waitress was very helpful and attentative
Our waitress was very friendly. Food was delicious and came out very quickly. The view was beautiful.
It is ALWAYS a delicious experience. Took a dear friend for her 80th Bday, she loved it!
We were a party of 6, had a wonderful table outside with view of the Carcinez Bridge. The food was excellent and plentiful.
Anniversary. Great food , best Mai tai’s beautiful view. Great service. One of my favorites! Don’t miss out dining here
I was very disappointed with my first experience with the restaurant. I found it faded in glory and overpriced.
Had the garlic noodles with chicken. It was an astounding 28 dollars?! Portion was TINY. My husband had a seafood dish that was 6 dollars cheaper. Come on, that's freakin ridiculous. Shouldn't rip off people like that
