We had a great experience with our waiter, who was very attentive and pretty funny. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. We requested a table by the window with a view and our request was honored. We went to celebrate my nieces 19th birthday and she had a good time!

Food was excellent from the bread to the entree but our server was less than attentive and pretty much put a damper on the experience.

Dead Fish used to be really good, but they've changed a few of our favorite things which brings down my rating a little:
1. Garlic Noodles (as written on the menu) come out as Alfredo... If I wanted Alfredo, that's what I'd order.
2. They removed the Lemon Bar dessert... why???

This is good place for lunch to see the view but the food is overpriced and not great. It’s always crazy busy and they need to tend to the bathrooms more often

Easy to make a reservation! Food and service was great! Parking was a challenge. Ended up parking on a hill but was a good post dinner workout!

Brilliant experience. Our go-to favorite place. Made reservations on line. Only tiny flaw is parking but we found a place up the hill!

Parking is the only issue and it’s bad no matter what day you go or what time! One of our group had to drive around for 10 mins waiting for a spot and our reservations were at 4:30 in the afternoon!

Simply our favorite! We always look forward to driving through the Vallejo area so that we can stop in for some clam chowder.

I've been here before, but since I am a new parent--as a dad--I was extremely impressed that they had a changing station in the men's room. The food is great, the service is great, but it's the little things that count. I'd definitely recommend to restaurant to my friends, and to new parents.

The Dead Fish consistently offers excellent preparations that gratify the diner. The bar is excellent, as are the appetizers I've tried. The main dishes are great and generous. The views are outstanding as well.

The sizzling shrimp platter seem to be undercooked. In the past they seemed to cook the shrimp longer and it was more flavorful. But otherwise, the fish is always great.

Love this place! The service is great, the quality of food is also amazing. The only big disappointment that we had on this trip was that they removed our favorite dessert from the menu. Super bummed about that the chocolate mousse bomb is gone :(

The Dead Fish is a reasonable restaurant for fresh seafood. They have an interesting menu that includes several seafood items as well as Prime Rib items, in addition to several other choices. It is high on a hill above the Carquinez Straights with a view of the bay and nearby bridges. Food has always been good, lunch or dinner. There is outdoor seating available, even in inclement weather with movable heating units and canvas roofing.

I have been to the Dead Fish a number of time for lunch and dinner. I enjoy the food and ambience of the restaurant and the service is always very good. The one complaint I have is the cost. It is extremely high for many of the dishes, especially those that come ala carte and you have to buy a seperate side dish. This can push the cost of something like a Fish Sandwich into the $20 range rather than the more reasonable $10-15 range.

I ordered the Osso Buco and was quite happy with the serving size and the meal, but the cost ($30) was again about $5 over what i think it should have cost.

If you keep that in mind, I would recommend it

The Fish and Chips was awesome. Great to share since the size of the serving was huge. Best French fries I've had in years. They held their crunch throughout the meal. I will definitely go back.

The Dead Fish was a hit with a group of friends out for lunch. Positive comments were received about the cuisine, absence of a corkage fee and the views. Its one place I can take family and friends and count on great food and value.

We ventured out to Dead Fish at the recommendation of a friend. It was good, but overpriced for seafood considering it's at the source. I can get better seafood nearer to home for less and save myself the drive. We chalked it up to experience, enjoyed ourselves but it was a very hefty price to pay for grilled crab sandwiches and crab benedict and no drinks both served on the same bread from the bread basket. Service was very good.

A good meal. I just wish since I hadn't finished my meal my server would have packed all of my leftovers. He literally only packed the seafood which was far less than my pasta which I guess they tossed. Meaning do not allow them to pack your leftovers, I essentially lost 2/3 of my money since they threw all my food away except half a crab.

We had a 6:45 reservation on a busy MLK Holiday weekend, and as things worked out, we arrived an hour and 15 minutes early. The parking lots were packed, but we kept looping around and got one. Luckily I was able to rebook our reservation for 5:45 and we still had to wait a few minutes but we got seated. I loved the nautical decoration theme. I ordered crab cakes and my husband ordered a half crab. My dish was not seasoned as much as I would have liked, but it was full of fresh crab and I dipped it in the roasted garlic sauce of the half crab. Next time I’ll bring my own wine, since there is no corkage fee and I didn’t care for the selection.

My husband and I with a friend went there for a dinner, and we have a reservation at five fifteen in the evening. There was much quiet and more relax because we got there earlier than we usually do. The food and service are good as always. My order is sea bass goes with lemon cappers butter sauce, potatoes, and couscous. My comment about the combination of the side dish. I do not feel potatoes go well with fish. But veggies will be the good choice go with fish and couscous. My husband and our friend ordered filet mignon which came with mesh potatoes and creamy spinach that was perfect match, and the filet mignon cooked perfectly. Overall it was a nice dinner gathering, and The Dead Fish is our favor restaurant.

Not very pleasant evening.... the table next to us had 2 males who were stupidly drunk and loud... they were cursing the entire evening super loud in front of their own kids and wives, all the tables in that section could hear them yelling and you could see in their faces that they were just apalled. At one point one of the drunks fell trying to get out by squeezing in between our table and theirs, he struck my sister in law and almost fell on top of her. Then the drunk person got back to his chair and started to yank on the wall decorations at the restaurant.. waitresses could hear and see everything that was going on but did nothing about it. Finally my brother in law and sister in law asked to speak with manager by this time the drunks and their family were on their way out... as they were leaving other people from the other tables started to comment about how unpleasant their evening was just like ours even though they were a few tables away from the noise whereas our table was right next to them.... we had a bad feeling about the evening right when we were sat at our table, as we showed up at our table it had to be cleaned and wiped down again because the people that I've been referring to during this review had been using our table because theirs was over crowded... this is my second bad experience at this restaurant, their food is great and very tasty but I'm very disappointed in the way our evening turned sour again at this restaurant....

Had not been to the Dead Fish for a couple of years and decided to give it a shot., Glad we did. It was better than last time. The food was excellent. Sea Bass was "to die for" and the Cioppino was wonderful. Wine was very good and the price not bad at all. Was with a party of 5, relatives from Australia, and everybody had a great time. Great place to eat with company. It was worth the 20+ mile drive.
