It was amazing!
Wonderful, start to finish. Seafood plateau is a “must”.
We had a wonderful meal at The Darling. The food was fantastic and the service very attentive. We will return!
The service was fantastic, everyone was extremely friendly. Our waiter even went out of his way to give us other recommendations in the area. And the food was FANTASTIC. Extremely fresh seafood, cooked to perfection.
Our waiter was very friendly and gave us recommendations since it was our first time dining here. We highly recommend the scallop dish for dinner and the bread pudding for dessert. Great atmosphere and friendly staff!
Excellent fresh seafood - mostly local. Our server was delightful.
Seated initially at a very unappealing table. Asked to move tables and was kindly accommodated. Food and service ok.
The Darling Oyster Bar was the best meal of our trip to Charleston! The recommendations were spot on from the staff. I’m glad we booked our reservation early.
We got engaged there and it was perfect. They brought us complimentary champagne and even gave us a gift. The food was excellent.
Booked a seat at the raw bar and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Logan took great care of us, and I was amazed at the Happy Hour deals. My date and I enjoyed the Basil Daisy and Paloma drinks. We also had a few rounds of oysters, shrimp cocktail, and the ceviche dip — super yummy! Would highly recommend!
Amazing oysters. Lovely atmosphere @ the raw bar. Thanks for being one of our favs while in town!!! Love y’all!!!
Excellent service, delicious meal and great ambiance
Oysters and drinks were great! Entrees were not as good. Had to send the tagliatelle back.
Very busy restaurant-make sure to have reservations or it will be a 45 minute to 1 hour wait time. They seemed to be short staffed when we visited.
Food was great and not overpriced. Loved the atmosphere and drinks!
Fantastic brunch, great cocktails and wonderful service. Definitely worth a visit in you find yourself in Charleston.
Food and drinks were good. Service was excellent and the vibe was laid back and cool.
Excellent oysters, crab, and scallops. Not to be missed if you're looking for great seafood in Charleston.
Nice interior but unfortunately that is about it. Food was very disappointing, service good but pretty slow. We have eaten in a lot of other Charleston restaurants and for a similar price have had much, much better food.
Our server was fantastic (Will) and helped make the experience more fun. The oyster selection was very nice. A little pricey, but typical for Charleston. We were very full after dozens of oysters and clams, so we ordered appetizers for dinner. The creole shrimp was fantastic, Smokey, spicey and delicious. The fried clams strip were good, but a little heavy on the sweet Thai chili.
Great birthday dinner with my cousin. Kelly, our server, was excellent! Try the earthy oysters from NC on the half shell. Delish!
Fantastic food and service. We loved everything about this place.
We had drinks and apps, then ordered entrees. 15 minutes later, we were told that the kitchen had closed right when we put our orders in, so we didn’t get any dinner. Ended up eating frozen pizzas for dinner.
Great food and the avocado toast was my favorite.
For a Tuesday night it was packed. Thank goodness we made reservations.
We ordered 2 dozen James River oysters, and the hot crab dip to start with. It took a while for our appetizers to arrive. Unfortunately, 2 minutes later our main entrees arrived. That was fast and we were not expecting them!
The appetizers were very good especially the hot crab dip. As for the entrees, meh.
The blue crab tagliatelle needed some seasoning. It was missing something. The crispy fried chicken arrived 30 minutes after everyone’s order arrived and it wasn’t crispy at all! It was baked and very undercooked. The black eyed peas or whatever they were tasted like it was dragged in mud. I think mud may have some salt in it because theses did not. Needless to say, the dish was returned. The waiter did offer to comp the meal, which was nice. The sides that was ordered for the table consisted of collard greens and Hush puppies. My husband and mother-in-law are southerners and they were both taken aback by the collards. The collards tasted like it was sweetened with molasses or brown sugar. The hush puppies were very dry and pretty much rolled corn meal with no flavor.
Since the chicken was sent back, we put in another order of shucked raw oysters . We waited for over 40 minutes when my husband finally asked for the check.
We have eaten here before the pandemic and last summer during this pandemic. Something obviously has changed whether it is a new chef or was the chef taking the night off and the kitchen help took over? Not sure but overall, this was very disappointing. Go to the other side of town and eat at Amen Street Fish and raw bar . They are consistently on point with service and their dishes.
Great food, great building, and friendly staff
This was the most amazing place! My daughter and I were here for a mother daughter trip after her graduation from USC and wanted to try the oysters and the lobster roll and we were glad we did. The oysters were such a good flavor and the lobster roll was better than any that we’ve had from Maine while visiting my other daughter there. Definitely will go back.
Our first time here. We were seated promptly for a 7pm reservation. The oysters were great. Food so-so. The lobster roll was great, crab pasta mediocre.
Coming from Texas our oysters were some of the freshest and most delicious we have ever tried. I could’ve easily eaten 2 to 3 dozen. The main entrees were also quite good. I had the special Seabass which was perfectly cooked. My wife had the scallops which were delicious as well. Our server was attentive and friendly. Like most of the restaurants in Charleston the quarters were tight and tables were close together. But this did not detract significantly for our dining experience.
Our favorite night in Charleston! Wonderful service and Fabulous food! Awesome atmosphere!!
This was my first time dining at The Darling Oyster Bar and I loved it. Service was exceptional and the menu selections and food was outstanding. Thanks for a great evening.
Great service and food. Best oyster selection in town.
Had a late lunch of clams and oysters on the half shell along with fries and great drinks.
Everything was delicious!
Everything was great! Wanted to give our server Chloe a shout out. We had 10 girls and she was so accommodating and awesome the whole night! She split checks and didn’t mess up one thing. Food was amazing. I’ll be back soon!!
The seafood at Darling is always fresh and delicious. It’s a very cool spot with fun & innovative cocktails and the staff are wonderful!
The best oysters I’ve ever had incredible service can’t wait to come back
Loved the seafood tower. Beautiful selection of oysters, crab, lobster and shrimp.
We had Sara as a server and she was wonderful, she gave great recommendations and was so lovely!
This is a great place to go with friends. One person in our party could not do spicy food and the fried food and fries are seasoned. They did offer to take the food back and fix something else for her. Raw oysters were great!
Beautiful restaurant. Excellent cocktails. Seafood selection pretty standard for the Charleston area. Enjoyable.
