1st time visit. We were seated in an upstairs room, close to the window. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the sandwiches which were delicious. Would definitely go back.

We were seated by the fireplace and it was very cozy. I had the dandelion salad with salmon, which was excellent. My husband had the wild mushroom soup and shrimp cocktail, and he was very pleased with his choices.

They forget the bread basket every time we come here, but service is definitely friendly. Food is hit or miss — dishes are either great or yuck, not so much in between. Overall, we’d come back each time in town for their spectacular Mac and cheese. Also love their selection of ales/beers.

Lovely, authentic London pub environment off beautiful Rittenhouse Square. Great for lunch and brunch w/ fun options like rabbit pie. Wine selection could be upgraded. Attentive and cheerful staff made us feel welcome.

Went with a few women before going to the theater. Asked for a special table which was accommodated. Food was great; as was the wine. Very cozy. We'll go back.

Outstanding Experience! I dined her with friends while in town of a conference. Upon walking in the doors, I felt cozy and excited about my choice. We were greeted and immediate escorted to our table upstairs. The hostess was kind enough to point out the restrooms on our way to the table. Our sever was fun and attentive. We ordered the deviled eggs and ricotta spread appetizers. Both were delicious. Our server made sure we have enough eggs for our party. I thought that was above and beyond. Our meals were excellent from the rabbit pie to the roast beef sandwich. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. I honestly can't say enough positive things about the Dandelion. I would return on my next trip to Philly.

Needed a great spot for business dinner and The Dandelion hit it out of the park! Unknown to me were the dietary restrictions of my guests! The staff was well versed and amazingly accomplished! Food was outstanding; the plates were works of art! I would have rated the overall a 5, but for the noise level. It was not bad, just a tad too loud. Would highly recommend!

Kind of frustrating to get a reservation. First time I called, I got out on hold, transferred to the kitchen, then back to the reservation desk.

I'll stick to reserving with the OpenTable app from now on.

Food and service for our meal were great though.

Excellent fish and chips. Had the pitcher of dark and stormy cocktails. Reminded me of Bermuda. Welsh Rarebit, Deviled eggs were both delicious appetizers. All at my table enjoyed their time. The molten lava cake for dessert with the mint ice cream was a perfect finish to the a great meal. I will be sure to go back as this was my third visit.

Wonderful food, service and wine list. Beautiful atmosphere, incredible historic architecture. We had 5 lady friends at a perfect table--we could hear each other even as the dining room was full and lively. Everyone should experience The Dandelion, especially if you are staying in Rittenhouse Square--it's in the heart of it all. 5 stars!

Stopped in on a Friday evening. The place was very busy and noisy. Fortunately we were given a table that was somewhat isolated, so we could actually talk to each other. Lot's of steps to climb to get to the table, which was tough on our friend with a broken foot, but we made it. I guess "gastropub" means limited menu. But the food was well prepared and tasty. Great squash soup and butter lettuce salad. Steak was OK. Excellent waiter.

I visited the Dandelion for the first time for a business lunch with my boss and a colleague who was in town with his wife for a professional conference. We made a reservation for 11:30 and it seemed that while the restaurant/bar was already starting to fill up when we arrived, it had enough space to accommodate a walk-in. The lovely space is housed in a very old, architecturally detailed building that I believe the server said is from the 1800s. The food was all fantastic (we shared a half dozen oysters, then entrees including rabbit pie, tikka masala mussels, hanger steak salad, and a beet jar plate), the service was impeccable, and the value was surprisingly good for the neighborhood and quality of everything. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area, especially if you have a hankering for or interest in British food.

Ambience and service were outstanding. We both had the fish and chips. Fish was superb! The chips (a signature fried three times thing) were unfortunate. They were beyond crispy - it was like chewing on twigs. I do hope that was an anomaly.

I took my homesick British girlfriend here for her birthday. She loved the decor and picked out 2 apps and 2 meals for us to split. She thought the food was a very Americanized take on the Brit classics, but still enjoyed them immensely. Disappointingly, the main courses didn't come with any vegetables and they were much in need (not very colorful food!), so we had to order some on the side. We each had a cocktail to start (both very good, but needed either less ice or a bigger block) and we split a bottle of wine. Had a great time, but with tip, a very sufficient meal for two was over $200. The place has a great look and I'd definitely stop in for a cheaper lunch or a pint and some apps just to enjoy the feel.

We were seated right away in a lovely room upstairs. Beets were out of this world! Branzino was cooked perfectly. Tomatoes were nice on top. While I adore avocados- mushed on top of that amazing fish was a miss. Simple is better. Seriously one of the best old fashioneds in town!

Based on reviews from Open Table my friend Janis and I decided THIS was the place for us to celebrate her birthday.

Inside and outside, the ambiance is sublime; what a glorious, gorgeous, stately, well-appointed mansion. Holy Hannah!

We arrived 15 minutes early and were still immediately seated. The hostesses were charming women who greeted us with friendly smiles. One of the women led us to our table on the second floor which was nice and cozy and comfortable.

Our server was Liz who was an absolute delight. She couldn't have been more attentive and she was a true was a pleasure to chat with.

We started with birthday cocktails, a Bellini for me, the Basil Punnet for the birthday girl.

Can we talk about the stout honey multi-grain bread? And the country white bread? And the pat of butter with the sea salt. What a carbohydrate lover’s dream.

We ordered the Deviled Eggs as our appetizer. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. JUST ORDER THEM. So. Freaking. Good.

We each had the Steak & Chips. When I ordered it typically medium rare, Liz let me know it would be quite pink. I bumped it up to medium and that, baby bear, was JUST right. The chips are worth the trip from NY alone. WOW!

Julia, one of the managers, came by to see how everything was, and honestly, we were gushing with praise. I let Julia know we were celebrating Janis' birthday and how marvelous our experience was.

Imagine our delight when Liz brought us out the Sticky Toffee Pudding served with Flap Jack ice cream with a candle. ::: swoon :::

From arrival to departure we were thrilled with our time at The Dandelion. (GREAT logo, btw!)

All in all, we enjoyed one of the most delicious and delightful meals we've ever eaten.
