We had a baby with us and had to change our reservation time. Everyone from the host stand to our server was super accommodating. The food was pretty decent too with some creativity. Would definitely come back.
the lamb shepard's pie is out of this world -yum. happy hour drink specials were great too
Our first visit - Dandelion was recommended by our friends.
We really enjoyed the place - food was excellent & very good
service. Reminded me of my roots as I'm a Brit.
We'll be back!
Great little hidden restaurant. Great ambiance very quaint. Chicken tandoori was to die for. I had lamb Sheppard pie which for my taste was too rich. Only downfall about the food was there was too much salt on complimentary bread and too much salt on the butter. Would definitely visit again if ever back in philly
Perfect dinner on a cold and rainy night! Delicious, cozy, and warm.
We've eaten at old pub restaurants in London and the Dandelion has done a very good job of replicating the feel of this era. The menu is a good representation of authentic English dishes and we all found a beverage that we liked. This was a Sunday dinner chosen by our daughter for her birthday and she loved it.
It was an overall great meal.
First, I need to say that my husband and I were very nice to our server as I have worked in fine dining for many, many years. This review may sound otherwise, but it’s because we were soured to the place.
My husband and I were in this past Saturday for dinner. Hosts were tremendous.
Love the warm milk bottle of water (utter sarcasm) and then having to ask a second time for a glass of ice because “[I] was going to bring it when I brought your drinks.” (Bottle of water was half gone by the second request thanks to my extremely thirsty husband, and was slammed down when she returned it refilled.) This leads me to the drinks: pitcher of dark and stormy took over 15 minutes-not a server issue, but a bartender issue as I watched it bring made. I would never order another pitcher again—too much juice-yes, juice. Why was my dark and stormy pinkish? We were very nice to our server, but, for whatever reason, she stopped to check on every other table, but not ours-overly professional female manager type did. The only time we saw this girl again was to bring the check. Check total was $114 (after tax), and we left $20...this is quite low for me as we leave a minimum of 25% after tax because I understand the business. We just felt that we did something wrong to offend this girl, but then realized that if she gets offended by a second request for something and plays that we were rude (which is how we felt by her ignoring us and only manager type addressing us), well, maybe she shouldn’t be serving.
The food: wellfleet oysters fantastic and minuet sauce (which I usually don’t use, but no cocktail or horseradish was supplied) was excellent. Entrees took a long time. rabbit pie (What little that was there) was fantastic! The fish on the fish and chips (one medium piece) wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good-hot on edges only, expected something above bland. They weren’t served with malt vinegar, and because of how we were being treated, I wasn’t about to ask. The chips were good. Nope
Excellent food and service. Wine and beer selection was great too! We were almost an hour late and they cheerfully honored our reservation. We will definitely be going back.
We had a wonderful dinner before a show at the Merriam Theater! Service was on spot! Food was terrific!
Excellent food and service. Knowledgeable bartender and wait person. We will go back...soon.
Afternoon Tea is a must!
Love this place! Accidentally made my reservation for the wrong week but they were so helpful and took us anyway (and the food is amazing)
If you want to feel like your back home in a nice British restaurant this is the place to go. The food is great the staff is fantastic I have never been disappointed.
Pricey, but great atmosphere, very comfortable. Food is interesting take on traditional British Pub food. As with all Starr restaurants, the service was flawless.
I went there with girlfriend to celebrate her birthday and we were treated like king and queen. The foods were delicious and the wine is just great. Love it.
Birthday celebration
The food was delicious, service was excellent.
all entrees and salads were too salty - even the fries :(
Great food and service
The inside is very cozy with a family like vibe. The staff are very courteous from start to finish. The food was slightly salty for my taste, but not too excessive. Had a great experience and will come back.
Absolutely delicious food. The chicken and duck liver parfait was beyond fantastic- foie Graz lovers take note. Looking for a low carb option, I ordered the tandori chicken and was offered a salad in place of the rice. Amazingly good! My colleagues also raved- fish and chips and the salmon, both perfectly executed. Our server was attentive and very accommodating to my dietary requests.
Second time there, this time with my wife and son to celebrate her birthday. Enjoyable time with good food options and cocktails. My wife was in love with the bread, so they gave her a whole loaf to take home for her birthday.
Food was wonderful, service and ambiance were fantastic as well. 5 Stars all around!
Excellent !!!!
Very good food and fun ambiance. Good drinks!
Great times with awesome food and drinks.
Excellent restaurant. Loved the ricotta appetizer and the dandelion salad.
We went into the city to see Seinfeld this weekend. The Dandelion had lots of interesting food choices.
Appetizers were big and good.
My wife had the Duck Bolognese and I had the rabbit pie.
Both were very good, but mine came out cold.
Drinks were good, meal would have been rushed had we not slowed down the wait staff.
Would do it again, liked it a lot but would have loved for my food to come out warm.
Great dining experience. Food was excellent. Will be a new favorite for us. Iain was awesome
The ambiance of this place was fantastic! The different levels and various sections from fireplace to different bars and different types of tables was great. The old Pub feel was just right, the food was very good and the service was warm and friendly. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back to Philly to go again!
This was our first time at The Dandelion and I must say, we were very impressed. We were a party of 6 and were seated upstairs in a cozy room. We loved the ambiance and our waiter was fantastic! The drinks, appetizers and entrees were top notch. Highly recommend the ricotta appetizer as well as the salmon & trout pate - both were delicious! Can’t wait to come back!
Great food with some interesting food choices. Wonderful service and ambiance. One of my favorites in Philly.
Dandelion is my go to place when I have friends in town for brunch most of the time. I love the cozy atmosphere and great service. The food never disappoints and the staff is always friendly and attentive.
We dined here for Easter Sunday Brunch. Our hostess was a delightful young lady who was attentive to us as she led us to our table. Our Waiter was a nice young man who took very good care of us. The food was delicious! I had a delicious Pear Mimosa and a delightful cup of tea after the meal. We would certainly visit this restaurant again.
Good food and great vibes
My children and their significant others and I had Easter brunch there. We had a delightful server I believe his name was Derick. Our food was delicious and I highly recommend a pitcher of Pimms! Every visit I make to Philly I always have one meal with at The Dandelion!
Exceptional. Truly enjoyed our experience. Wonderful menu and great service.
Sat in the dog bar, excellent food as always and the room was quiet, the candle was wonderful as well. Excellent service.
Excellent atmosphere, delicious food and very good beer! I'll totally come back here
Delightful atmosphere, tasty food and excellent service - always a great time!
