Lunch was very good. My husband had the Shepard's Pie and raved about it. I had a flounder sandwich which was quite tasty. We are looking forward to returning for "Afternoon Tea" in the future.
Always a fun place and a great meal. Super crowded, but after all, it WAS Mother's Day. They get a pass. And food did not suffer at all.
We'll be back.
Terrific food and service in a very impressive setting. The restaurant has a wonderful old historic vibe to it. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service was simply extraordinary.
Was really looking forward to this, but overall was disappointed. Food was good overall but nothing special. IMO, wine was overpriced. If you are going to charge $12 for a glass of wine, at lease give a full pour. Our waitress was efficient, but the room was really busy so not much time for interaction. Don't come here if you want to have a quiet conversation - noise level is really loud.
Afternoon High Tea was AMAZING!!!!! Can't wait until next Mother's Day and I'll be back for sure.
We went there for my birthday brunch. I had seen pictures online and had wanted to try the place. We arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation, and they still sat us right away. Food and atmosphere met my expectations.
The French toast was the largest piece of single toast I have ever seen! It was delicious, well done. Coffee was great and the servings were relatively generous. The actual restaurant itself was very quirky.
Good food (Barnstable oysters! Delicious soup! Complicated Caesar salad... . Excellent bread!), good service (professional). Ambient sound (unavoidably) loud.
Charming structure....cozy & contained.
Wonderful food, quaint atmosphere, out server David gave exceptional service. Top Notch experience!
