Very cool vintage atmosphere. Food was good but was rushed out even though it wasn’t crowded.
As usual, it was a very enjoyable meal. Ricotta appetizer was excellent, almost like butter. Two had Bronzino and said it was some of the best they had ever had. My fish and chips was first class. And the steak and chips was also good. A bit noisy because we were in the upper bar area. But still a great meal and experience.
As usual, The Dandelion was terrific. We were seated in the Man's Best Friend bar which is our favorite room at The Dandelion (perfect for dog lovers!) My boyfriend and I went for Sunday brunch. We shared the scones, housemate ricotta, bagels, and the Sunday roast. The scones were incredible--warm from the oven with a delicious blueberry compote. The housemate ricotta was super as were the bagel and lox. That said, the Sunday roast was a showstopper! To boot, our server was wonderful!
Love the location and the ambiance. The food is just okay and is overpriced given the quality and the portion size.
Seating by the bar was very hot, not sure if the AC was working.
Waiter was very absent and slow to check in. Had to walk to the bar to get water.
Service is very good. Pub favorites Lamb Shepherds Pie and Fish & Chips are delicious. Wine and beer selections interesting and enjoyable. We have also enjoyed brunch there, excellent scones and meals. Recommend this restaurant.
I love going to this restuaraunt. The food is absolutely delicious and the decor is so homey and warm, one of my favorite places to eat.
Good meal. The fish and chips were very good and the salmon was excellent. Service was quick and attentive. Good vibe to the place. Would go back on our next trip to Philly.
Birthday lunch that was great
Loved the ambiance of the old building. Decor was cool. Room was a little too dim. Service was great until we had to wait a bit for the check.
Service was excellent. Food was also.
The bangers and mash as well as the fish and chips are always fantastic. Great selection of beers, cocktails and wines as well. Amazing service.
Great service and excellent courses! We left wanting more!
All 6 of us enjoyed our dinner at The Dandelion on Monday night. We started off with two orders of the deviled eggs (my husband's favorite!). For our entrees, I had the pan seared salmon (it was cooked perfectly), my husband had the Tandoori chicken (again another one of his favorites at this restaurant), our children both had a cheeseburger (my son said it was his 2nd favorite burger ever) and additional family members had bangers & mash & rabbit stew (comment was "best rabbit stew I ever had"). In addition, Mike, our waiter, was outstanding and went above and beyond to ensure our experience was exceptional (thanks, Mike!).
It was literally a perfect experience. I got their shepherds pie which for me is a gamble because I’ve had it go very wrong at other places but it was likely the most perfect thing I ever tasted. Delicious. The service was great. All the good things.
Food was great! Our server and the manager were very attentive. We had a great meal!
Wonderful as always.
We have our favorites: Tandori Chicken is the best! I'm doing low carb right now so I didn't get the rice (which with the Tandori chicken the rice is amazing!) but instead I got the cheesy Cauliflower which was also outstanding! We also always get the ricotta & warm olives for an appetizer. You can ask for sliced apples and cucumbers on the side of the ricotta if you are low carb or gluten free.
The food is great, reasonably priced but the service is fantastic! Our server Katie O not only suggested us with what dishes and drinks to get but also provided us with amazing recommendations in and around Philly. Would love to go back and meet her again :)
Amazing service and was very happy to receive complementary heirloom soup!!! Lovely restaurant!!
I love everything about Dandelion except the noise level. Please please PLEASE install more sound-absorbing panels. Just one noisy table in the small room can ruin the entire experience. I was nearly yelling in my husband’s ear just to have a conversation over noon brunch.
This is our third time here and every meal has been very good. We had 3 generations at dinner and everyone found dishes that they really enjoyed. And everyone has to order the ricotta appetizer at least once!
As always, the food and cocktails were perfect. It was a nice day so my Mom, girlfriend, and I sat outside. Love it here even though it is on the pricier side.
The dandelion was everything I hoped for. Breakfast was amazing! Probably the cutest restaurant I’ve been to in Philadelphia. I’d highly recommend the tarts and French toast.
Delicious food in a quaint setting
Most waitstaff was impersonal and uncomfortable but otherwise the food was great.
Dandelion exceeds all expectations. Sit upstairs and enjoy the view while dining on delicious food (the Norwegian Salmon is top rate) and experiencing absolutely terrific service (after I noted to the manager that it was a bit chilly, he came over 30 minutes later to see how the temperature was)! We will be back. What a delightful evening.
Hands-down my favorite restaurant in the city! Atmosphere is perfect, service was great, management (Axel) touched the table and checked in just enough. Cocktails were fun and a fair price. Food is incredible. Not too heavy, but filling. I have dreams about the whipped ricotta, I'd happily eat nothing but it for the rest of my life. Stephen Starr really is the best in the business!
Really cool place. Decor, furniture, layout—all really neat. The server seemed a little young, and so inexperienced. Drinks were a little light. Food was awesome.
Went for our daughter’s birthday! From the hostess to Dan our server, everyone was so friendly and helpful with our selections. Also, they remembered when I made the reservations that I mentioned it was her birthday and sent out a dessert with a candle! Was a great evening from beginning to end! Thank you!
They made our special occasion memorable!
Love The Dandelion! First time there and it exceeded expeditions. The chicken tandoori is SO good and the cocktails are even better! Will definitely be coming back soon- such a great spot.
My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at Dandelion this week. We went because we had a gift card and were happy we did so. Food was great and the service was excellent. Really enjoyed the cask beer
We were there Sunday night with friends. The hamburgers and tandoori chicken were good. The fish and chips only came with one piece of fish. Seriously? The salmon and risotto was just ok. Too salty. The service was good. This was a disappointing meal and not what I would expect from a Starr restaurant. I would not go back.
Great food, service, and ambiance, as always.
I've been here multiple times, but this was the first time trying the "Sunday Roast." Loved it! As usual, not only the food was wonderful, but the service and the atmosphere really make for a wonderful experience.
We had a great experience here. The Prim's cup was perfect. Food and service both top notch. This is how you do English pub fare. Didn't get a chance to try the cask beers but will do so next time.
Dined here for Sunday brunch and it was delicious. My husband and I each ordered the Royale (smoked salmon benedict) and the dishes were perfectly cooked with high-quality ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy and the interior historic details of the restaurant are beautiful.
Very nice atmosphere, great service and delicious food and drink. The place is located in a townhouse that has been renovated to evoke older more quaint times in England. As a Brit myself I found the whole experience authentic and tasty. My kids loved their pancakes and French toast and the beans from my Full English breakfast. My husband and I had and loved the English Breakfast. I would recommend this place as it has a wide array of food choices from healthy to indulgent. Good for anyone - kids / adults alike.
I was really surprised at how poorly the Dandelion handled special dietary needs. We'd gone there specifically because we thought that a Starr restaurant would be able to accommodate the member of our party who couldn't eat onions or garlic. The server asked the kitchen, and they responded that nothing other than the burger would fit that specification. And the burger was then served with onions on it. Easy enough to pick off, but still annoying. And there were plenty of other dishes on the menu which could have been modified if the kitchen had cared to make an effort. The food and ambiance isn't good enough to overcome being treated with such indifference.
Needed to be in and out rather quickly....Even though that was the case, I still received the same great service I always do when there....already knew what I wanted -Fish and chips (Best in Philly!), so made it even quicker.....the basket of bread was just as good as was the drink! We have also been going to Dandelion every Christmas Eve for a large family gathering and it NEVER disappoints! It's also the "girls" pregame place for our annual Philly Flower Show lunch......Have never had a bad experience...Also, if you are looking for a good "event" spot, it ranks right up there as well....Three years ago we had a 35th birthday party for my daughter in the "Dog Room" (she's a vet), and again, food and service were fabulous.....Can't go wrong here!
