We were seated outside and the waiter was prompt with drinks and food, but then forgot to bring our bill...despite having been asked once. He seemed very busy, so perhaps he just had too many tables assigned to him.
Some of the cars and other vehicles on 18th street side are very noisy, so if you plan to sit outside ask for the Sansom street side.
Veg/vegan choices are very limited.
Great spot for brunch! Nice atmosphere. Awesome food.
Wonderful time. Wonderful service. Wonderful management. Wonderful food. Just overall a wonderful experience.
A little pricey for very fancy pub food that was quite tasty. Really what draws you in is the atmosphere
A charming and warm Victorian home turned restaurant. Multiple levels and dining areas with stain glass, high ceilings, exquisite molding. The waitress was friendly and well informed. Though the menu is limited, the food was delicious. Would highly recommend it.
We ate outside on a Saturday morning for brunch and really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was attentive and we didn’t feel rushed as is the case sometimes in Philly. We had the chilled yellow tomato soup, the scones and the Welsh Rarebit. Everything looked amazing! The scones came with lemon curd which was my favorite, Devon cream and raspberry “jam”. The jam tasted good but was more like a purée that would be used to drizzle over a dessert for decor. The soup had a great flavor but the Rarebit was the star of the show. It was perfectly toasted and absolutely delicious! I got a Rose Mimosa which came in a tiny glass but to my surprise held A LOT. Would definitely give it a little stir so the last few sips aren’t too sweet. Pricey drinks but not overpriced for being in Philly. We will be back again another day for dinner. Excited to try dessert there one day as well.
Can't say enough about the food. So creative and delicious. Try the Ricotta starter with fresh sourdough bread!
First time being at The Dandelion, I came for the drinks and desserts and both were delicious. A must try is the Toffee Pudding.
Great start to our weekend in Philly. Loved the old building and cozy decor. The food was delicious… lamb shepherds pie and Rabbit pot pie were excellent! Great cocktails too
We enjoy Dandelion very much so, when friends from Cleveland were visiting we promptly made reservations. I want to thank the staff for being so understanding when our friends got lost coming into the city and changing our reservation time.
Everyone enjoyed lunch and our friends loved the décor and atmosphere.
Absolutely incredible food. . will absolutely be going back
Pleasant, upbeat hostess, waitress ( and new trainee) and food delivered in a reasonable amount of time. They checked on us throughout our meal. Food was hot and delish! Chicken tandoori, fish and chips were great.
We went for brunch... love the outdoor seating! Whatever you do, GET THE FRENCH TOAST!
Great food and ambience. Very good service highly recommend.
Sunday brunch before taking the Broad Street line to the Phillies game. Nichol was terrific as a server and the food was outstanding. The ham and cheese omelet, the beet root jar and the cheese plate. You don't get great food like this at the ballpark! and Mimosas!!! Thank You!!
I love the Dandelion - have always loved the look of it - very warm, inviting, comfortable and with a definite sense of place - you've stepped into another world, if not another country. Just a little disappointed to see it looking a bit worn, and in need of tending - loose wallcovering on the second floor, torn upholstery, just a bit more shabby than chic.
That said, the food was delicious, and our server was lovely - so that's the important stuff - just hope they don't let it deteriorate too much
Beautiful night to sit outside. Service was wonderful. Food was fabulous!! Try the Fish and Chips!
We went to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The Dandelion is a charming restaurant and the food was very good. The Ricotta and Toasted Sour Dough bread was excellent as was the Trout and Burger. My wife even received a scoop of ice cream as a desert for her birthday. Unfortunately, the waitress’ service was not up to Par. She was not as attentive as you would expect. The only real issue was when we tried to use one of the two Starr Restaurant gift cards we had purchased early in the pandemic. The manager was unable to apply the gift card to our bill. Apparently, this is an issue with a lot of the BOGO certificates that the Starr Restaurant group offered. The manger gave us the Starr Restaurant Group contact info which we will definitely follow through with.
Our experience was excellent.
Food and services were outstanding.
Even though during the pandemic we dined outside, the dinner was pleasing for us.
The roaring cars and the busy street took nothing away from our Dinner outing.
Everything was terrific!!
The fish and chips were delicious.
A friend of mine is coming to Philly on October 4 or 5th. His favorite dine out dish is fish and chips.
I told him about your Fish and Chips and he can’t wait to try them.
See you on the 4th or 5th of October!
Outside so not terribly pretty but server was very timely and food was really great. A treat.
The food was excellent , the Bangers and mash was delicious , just as you would have them in England, the service was good
Great ambiance and service. Will be back especially when it gets chilly outside. Great fireplace to sit in front of.
Very tasty and great service! The homemade ricotta was delicious! The summer corn entree and salmon was amazing, and the rabbit pie was perfect!
In the midst of Ida the Dandelion was the shelter from the storm - good food and great service ...
We were seated in the streetery, and immediately upon being seated we commented to the hostess that the floor was not level - it sloped down towards the sidewalk. She looked at the other units and saw that they all sloped; she said that it was likely because they erected it on the street and the street probably sloped that way.
Given the effort that the Starr Group puts into many of its restaurants, I found it disappointing that they did not make the extra effort to level the floor. As a result of the slope, the table also sloped and seating was awkward.
Now to the food: my mussels and baguette were mediocre at best - the baguette was on the verge of being burnt; the mussel broth was incredibly salty (and I enjoy my salt!) and the mussels were simply underwhelming.
The one highlight was our server - he was gracious and accommodating throughout our meal.
Great food. Excellent service. The outside seating was comfortable, but I missed the great ambience inside.
My friend and I had a very pleasant lunch outdoors at Dandelion. We both had the grilled chicken sandwich on raisin walnut bread which was great as usual.
Ambivalent service but good food. The atmosphere is lovely.
Everything was wonderful except we had outdoor dining and the train car box was listing terribly so much so the bottle of water would start rapidly traveling same with plates etc. I recommend this be looked at and addressed While for sure not a show stopper it did make it less inviting to sit back and relax !! Best fish and chips around ❤️❤️
Wonderful brunch.. can’t wait to go back. Amazing ambiance, like being transported to England! Food was
The food was so delicious. I'm from England and the fish & chips was how it should taste. The lamb shepherd pie was so so good, the ambience
was great, definitely coming back
Always love the dandelion.
This is a marvellous restaurant with top-notch food and service. The outdoor cubicles are lovely, but not in a rainstorm. There's a roof but the sides are open to the sidewalk and street, and we were sopping wet by the time we finished eating. But it was worth it!
We LOVE this upscale pub! The food was delicious and fresh. The service was absolutely some of the best around. We had so many people come to our table to serve and check and remove plates - and our table required a lot of steps to get to it, tucked in a raised corner. The diversity of the diners and afterwork drinkers was heartening, and the entire experience felt like we were in London or Edinburgh or West Yorkshire. Each room (and there are many) has its own unique personality. We cannot wait to return. I'm not one to gush, but this restaurant totally deserves it.
We had a family wedding this weekend and scheduled lunch with my brother in law and niece the morning before they left. They are Californians and very covid sensitive. Is there any place better than Rittenhouse Plaza’s collection of outdoor restaurants? Our server was delightful. The food as always divine. I feel so lucky to live nearbye
Michael did a great job as a server. It was white wine and seafood with oysters, the Salmon, and the Trout. Just great!! New this visit was the blackberry rollypolly dessert. Wow! We ordered two cups of tea with dessert. We were served a pot of tea with two cups in the best British tradition. Very upscale and wonderful. Thank you!!
I lived in UK for 18 years and when I come here I feel like I’m back. Great place to eat and drink with friends in a relaxed environment. The duck and chicken liver parfait…delicious
Charming old-country English setting inside and out, including plating. Friendly and accommodating service. Best French toast we’ve ever had! Delicious, refreshing dandelion salad and chilled green tomato soup. Would dine again, thank you!
Brunch was terrific… classy atmosphere and great wait staff
