Food was delicious and the atmosphere was very cool!
Dandelion was amazing. They accommodated the vegan in our party at a reduced price. Our waiter Michael was amazing. All in all a wonderful experience.
I took my 2 friends to afternoon tea. We liked the restaurnt itself, the decor was fine & we liked where we sat in the bar decorated with dogs, but the food wasn't really good. The sandwiches were just terrible. They were so old the soft bread had crusted over on the outside, they tasted of refrigerator & the flavors were either missing or terrible. I was really disappointed. The dessert layers were better, with some actual winners. Scones were just OK, more like a biscuit than scone, but the clotted cream, lemon curd & jam were very good.
The champagne was very sweet, not sure what it was, but not good & the rosé mimosa was awful. We were told it was pureed raspberry & champagne sprayed with rose water. Unfortunately it smelled like an air freshner & didn't taste very good. I'm sad because I really wanted to like this place.
Just to clarify, we didn't go on a weekend, during a rush period, special event or holiday. It was a Wednesday afternoon & they weren't very busy. It should have been better.
The food was delicious and the tea extraordinary. Already planning another trip there.
It's not a big group place...they were helpful in adjusting our reservation. However our group got too big and we ended up at bistro tables in the bar. Much too crowded to accommodate us which wasn't their fault, it was ours.
Amazing service friendly atmosphere top notch scotch selection and delicious meal
We actually went for breakfast AND lunch! Both were so yummy. Service great too! And the building was also pretty groovy. Nice healthy options available... so important!
The food was delicious and the ambiance was amazing. I went with my parents and my boyfriend, and we all had a wonderful time. I had the shepherd's pie and we all shared the pickled beet jar appetizer that came with crostini and smooth goat cheese, as well as an olive tapenade. The food was delicious and arrived pretty quickly. We also shared the caramel bread pudding! Amazing!
My 6 year old daughter loved having tea together at the Dandelion.
The decor was strange and wonderful. The room we were seated in was decorated with dogs - paintings, ceramics, plates, even the bar rail. The beer selection was great, something for everyone. The food was tasty and worth every penny we paid. We tried the smoked salmon pate, it was delicious. The service was impeccable. Highly recommend visiting.
Afternoon tea was great! Wonderful service and little sandwiches were delicious.
Loud but a nice experience.
Everything was great. The service was friendly
And attentive. Great food. Fun atmosphere.
We drove to Philadelphia so that our daughter, a 2nd-year resident at a hospital there, could join us for Mother’s Day dinner after work. I chose Dandelion, based on its website, offerings and reviews, and was not disappointed!! The food was wonderful, the ambiance fantastic and our server looked a bit like Taron Egerton (ala Kingsmen—glasses and all)! Only issue—we were originally shown a table that was right next to the only other African American family there. My daughter asked to be placed at another vacant and similarly sized table, which was absolutely lovely and made the experience even lovelier! By no means am
I saying anything was intentional, just want you to know for the future!!! Overall experience was stellar!!
hmmm ... We were there for High tea. I have to say, the tea was weak and not so hot, and the service was just so-so. But the food was very good.
We went for Mother’s Day. We were seated at a lovely table w/ a view. The floor was filthy. Cheerios, cookies, crumbs as if it hadn’t been vacuumed in days. My teenagers commented. My cup had lipstick on it. The food was ok, nothing special. The waitress was very nice and they accommodated gluten free which was good. Expensive for what we got. I didn’t think it was worth it!
Lovely restaurant, delicious food.
The reason I’ve marked down.
When our food was delivered my husband needed cutlery the waitress said she would get some. 5 mins later we had to get someone else to get it, meanwhile the food was getting cold.
Also, I really don’t mind a lively noisy restaurant but the two of us were seated next to a large table of twenty somethings who could not have a conversation without screaming at each other as a result it was difficult for us to hear each other. So that slightly spoiled the evening. However we would probably return as the food was great.
As always food quality is amazing. Service was prompt however I keep wondering why they serve their tea without a tea spoon - seems trivial to me to have a tea spoon if I want to stir the milk or sugar.
We loved this place. It was perfect for Saturday brunch, nice selection of breakfast and lunch items. We would definitely return. We highly recommend the salmon pate appetizer, burger, and English breakfast.
The experience was fantastic! The food was excellent and everything tasted so fresh and delicious.
Second visit to The Dandelion and they delivered on all accounts. We started with the marinated olives which were served warm and a perfect choice to nibble on with our pre-dinner drinks. Dinner choices were also wonderful. My husband had the fish and chips which he devoured and I had the Tandoori Chicken that was highly recommended. The chicken was fantastic with amazing flavor! The Tandoori Chicken was very moist and served with a delicious nutty Basmati rice.
The steak and chips is to die for
The food and service was amazing. The booth table our party of 6 sat at was perfect and we could actually have wonderful conversations and hear each other! Best place overall for a small celebratory party and delicious food and fabulous service :)
The table was ten minutes late and the staff seemed less than concerned. Our waiter was attentive and nice and helpful without being pushy. We shared a carrot soup, that was gorgeous but after that for me the food went downhill. The bangers and mash, well the mash was fine. The sauce was overly sweet and the food was swimming in it. The bangers, well no.... not at all. Meat in sausage skins at best, no distinguishable herb flavours and salted too much. My partner’s shepherds pie was better but tbh and I never thought I’d say this in the USA, tiny portion. She found it acceptable so that got a passing mark. I do wonder if this was an unusual experience as I have eaten there before and the food was better but I’d steer clear of the bangers if I go there again.
Drinks and pre-threatre snacks were great. Service was terrific and I can't wait to go back.
we went to dandelion for dinner after a special event, graduation. It was fantastic!
Worst desert I’ve ever had, passed it around to my party of 7 and no one could eat it. The waiter didn’t check on us to see how the meal turned out. The burgers had chunks of hard fat in almost every bite.
Fabulous in every way. Tried the cask flight which was fun and delicious. Had a pint of prawns to share. Yummy. Fish and chips was excellent. Make sure to save room for the sticky toffee pudding. Some of the best I’ve ever had. I must come back for their afternoon tea.
This is a great restaurant in an area overrun with good restaurants in the nice Rittenhouse Square neighborhood in Philadelphia. The food was excellent! I had the steamed mussels with a side of smoked sweet potatoes, both to die for. My companion had the Tandori chicken and loved it. There was a lot of variety on the menu. The restaurant itself has 3 levels for seating and is very visually appealing. The only reason I rated it 4 stars for overall was that is was very loud in the restaurant, making it hard to converse without talking loudly. A friend who ate there the night before had a dish made with mustard and felt the dish was a little heavy on the mustard, so good or bad depending on if you are a mustard fan! I would go again just to get the smoked sweet potatoes!
Always have a great experience here. Hope to get back soon.
Dandelion salad is one of the best I've had anywhere. Roast beef sandwich was delicious.
For the first time they got our orders mixed up.
The Dandelion is a good choice for a celebration dinner - a little bit pricey, but very well-decorated with a great atmosphere and good food. I got the branzino and it was absolutely amazing - worth the money. Everyone at my table wished they got it. The fish & chips looks small at first, but it is a very nice piece of fish with a generous amount of chips! The deviled eggs were also quite a hit as an app.
Music was too loud, service was neglectful, farro was excessively salty.
Love the English style pub. Truly felt like I was visiting a London Pub. Food and cocktails were great! Will be going back real soon. Lydia & Saul
Such a fun thing to do on a Saturday afternoon with family and/or friends! Bloody mary’s and all the sandwiches, pastries, and teas were delicious!
The beef tartare was phenomenal!
We were pleased with The food but I had a reservation for a party of three. The hostess sat us at a tiny table that was really meant for two and put a chair for the third person. There were two nice size comfortable tables in the same room, empty. After 20 minutes and still being empty I went to the hostess and requested that I move my table. They accommodated me immediately but I was disappointed that they would choose to sit us there .
It took them an hour to get our food ready, and they didn’t even apologize for the delay.
