Craft drinks were unique and tasty.
More savory less sweet on appetizers would be good, but everyone liked the portion options on the entrees and they were all tasty. We enjoyed our meal before the theatre and our server was very friendly.

Service was terrible. We waited an hour for soup and salad despite a relatively quiet Saturday night. During that hour our water glasses went empty and our server never checked in or apologized for the delay. When the food came and we protested gently about the wait, the server said, it wasn’t my fault. Food was fresh and well prepared but the formerly generous Maura’s salad was very skimpy.

Overall my family enjoyed their meals very much. There was a problem with getting our entrees out in a timely manner. They acknowledged the delay and were apologetic, but we were very hungry by the time the food arrived.
Luckily everything tasted delicious.

The waitress was awesome but the 3 hours it took to eat there was deplorable. We are done going there for a few years and plan to let people know how ridiculous the time wait was.

The Daily Planet has something for everyone and an extensive vegetarian selection. The food is good, the service is excellent, and the dimly lit lighting is absolutely perfect. Great for a romantic evening.

We had a lovely meal with friends. However, the service glacial. Obviously the kitchen was backed up, but I suggest a bit more communication about it, when it happens. The food was SUPERB!

This was the second visit for us. This was definitely not the same as last. The food service was very slow. Not considering a third visit.

While I understand it was a busy Saturday night, service was particularly slow despite the fact that it was relatively early (6:30pm) and restaurant was only half full. At least two of our meals tasted very salty (scallops particularly).

My family (includes our son and my husband and me) chose Daily Planet for two special occasions. One was my 11 year old son's birthday. They offer a kids menu too. We also all went for our wedding anniversary. We like taking our son because the restaurant has a nice vibe, not too fancy, but fun to expose our son to different foods. The waitress has been so nice and attentive. She remembered us from our first visit there and even what my son ordered, that it was his birthday and the brownie sunday for dessert. We like the corner booth seat in the garden room.

The Daily Planet was a great experience for our anniversary dinner. The service was amazing the entire time and the food was outstanding. Tomato Bisque with Grilled cheese croutons and the French Onion steak were the favorites of the night. Cannot forget about dessert, the Apple Cheesecake Wontons were the cherry on top of this delicious meal.
Also, a great selection of drinks.
We will definitely be back!

Very nice. Many of the entrees are available small plates and large plates. Having chosen a small plate, I left feeling not stuffed. 6 of us shared the cheese board and every one seemed to enjoy their meal. The service was exceptional.

This is an off-beat restaurant. Menu is interesting. Had the Korean duck - excellent. All of the food was top notch and sharable. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. This is a great place for all kinds of get-togethers. You can make it as formal or as casual as you'd like. The décor is wonderful funky - reminds me of Berkeley in the old days. Very enjoyable - would definitely recommend.

The Daily Planet has long been one of my go-to restaurants; I often take out-of-town visitors there. And it's never disappointed - until this time. It was all about the wait. We were seated at 7:00; drink order at 7:15; drinks arrived about 7:30. Finally gave our order a few minutes after that - appetizer came in about 15 minutes. Our dinners were finally served at about 8:30.
I find this unacceptable and told our waiter. He spoke to the manager, and to give them credit they gave us a 25% discount. So I will be back - but one more wait like that and I'll be done with Daily Planet, much as I love Maura's salad, the delicious small plates, the creative cocktails and the tasteful, comfortable atmosphere.

We walked in and met the hostess who appeared grumpy and unwelcoming. The first thing she told us was that we could be seated but could not order for another 15 minutes because the kitchen was busy. The waiter was friendly and brought drinks right away . The food took quite a while to come and for the most part was
Good. The soups were excellent and the sliders and mac and cheese were good. The salmon was not good- it did not taste fresh and was in a mush on the plate. Waiter told me it was "on ice"
But did not seem interested in whether or not it was ok. Only has a few bites .

Great food in a cozy eclectic setting! Our severer by far was the best part of out dining experience, outgoing, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. There are different sections of the restaurant, which are quiet. When we were leaving we noticed there was a very vibrant bar scene, however it did not interrupt our quiet conversation at dinner. Will definitely return.

The Mac & Cheese (I added lobster) was delicious...if I wasn't staying in a hotel for several days I would have ordered another to go! The waiter was very pleasant...just wish I saw him more...especially when it was time for the check and there was an apparent miscommunication about the wine/cheeseboard...he sold it after I ordered the Chardonnay but I got one of the wines for the cheeseboard but no cheeseboard and the second glass of wine was supposed to be a red...got the same unknown white...so sad

Everything about our dinner experience was amazing. Our server, Gene, was friendly, knowledgeable, and fast. The restaurant is quirky but elegant and was surprisingly quiet. The food, though, everything was delicious. Especially the French onion steak and the scallops!!! And the desserts, oh brother, were they incredible! Can't wait to go back on our next trip to Burlington!!

I have dined at this restaurant many times over the last four years. I find the menu some what limiting but our party, which includes a vegetarian and one with celiac disease, usually find something we all alike on the menu. During this visit I ask the waitress about the veggie burger on the menu at the price of $14.00 , the same price as their grass fed beef burger. She didn't know anything about the veggie burger. When my order arrived I discovered it was deep fried and they forget to add the Vermont cheddar . Secondsry to the high grease content I only ate 1-2 of the veggie burger and didn't take the left overs home. When I provided feedback to the waitress she said she would tell the manager.

In this situation I think I should have been offered a partial comp for my meal. I inquired about the burger before I ordered, the menu didn't mention it was deep fried and the waitress didn't know the items in the menu. I paid the $14.00 elevated price for a veggie burger I didn't eat and which wasn't prepared the way I placed my order. Despite my feedback I never saw the manager . On this particular night the restaurant wasn't busy therefore the manager could have stopped by the table.

Restaurants in Burlington have a consistent flow of tourism traffic; iny opinion they are getting lazy in how they treat their return customers.
Therefore this was my last visit to this restaurant I will spend my hard earned money where I know the restaurant serves consistently good food, the manager frequently stops by the tables to speak with the customers and the wait staff know the menu.
