This used to be a great restaurant, but my wife and I went back after 15 years and found it had slipped. The food was fair and unexciting. The waitstaff was still very friendly and accommodating.
great casual experience, attentive service and would recommend as well as dine there again
Brussel sprouts were fantastic, everyone who got the scallops said they were some of the best they’ve ever had. Can’t go wrong w anything on the menu
Wonderful restaurant. We’ve eaten there many times and the food is always memorable. Service is excellent and menu changes seasonally. Much of the food is local. A favorite!
Amazing food! One of my favorite places to go for dinner in Burlington!
Great food and they have small plates and full size. Nice to be able to pick a few different menu items. It was a little noisy but nice overall.
Interesting menu, good food, pleasant ambiance and staff.
Noisy dining room. Slow, inattentive service.
Would recommend with those reservations.
The Daily Planet was the perfect spot for a birthday dinner! A beautiful menu for large entrees or for sharing. Ambiance is cozy and eclectic, good for romantic dates or casual dinner with friends. Really something for everyone here!! Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Burlington.
Craft drinks were unique and tasty.
More savory less sweet on appetizers would be good, but everyone liked the portion options on the entrees and they were all tasty. We enjoyed our meal before the theatre and our server was very friendly.
Service was terrible. We waited an hour for soup and salad despite a relatively quiet Saturday night. During that hour our water glasses went empty and our server never checked in or apologized for the delay. When the food came and we protested gently about the wait, the server said, it wasn’t my fault. Food was fresh and well prepared but the formerly generous Maura’s salad was very skimpy.
Overall my family enjoyed their meals very much. There was a problem with getting our entrees out in a timely manner. They acknowledged the delay and were apologetic, but we were very hungry by the time the food arrived.
Luckily everything tasted delicious.
The waitress was awesome but the 3 hours it took to eat there was deplorable. We are done going there for a few years and plan to let people know how ridiculous the time wait was.
The Daily Planet has something for everyone and an extensive vegetarian selection. The food is good, the service is excellent, and the dimly lit lighting is absolutely perfect. Great for a romantic evening.
Really great place. Hadn't ever been before but it's a very nice place with fantastic service and delicious food. We will be back.
We go for our anniversary every few years the food and the service never disappoint us. We have been coming her for 21 years now. We love it!
The Daily Planet impressed the three of us with the quality of the food and the very good service. We won't hesitate to go back there.
Simply amazing... food was spectacular .. visited 2 evenings in a row... would recommend Taco Tuesday... unique spin on classic taco
We had a lovely meal with friends. However, the service glacial. Obviously the kitchen was backed up, but I suggest a bit more communication about it, when it happens. The food was SUPERB!
Daily Planet is a favorite choice to bring business visitors. Food is always excellent and overall experience is always great!
Daily Planet is where I take clients for business dinners
A wonderful meal! Will eat there again when in Burlington
This was the second visit for us. This was definitely not the same as last. The food service was very slow. Not considering a third visit.
While I understand it was a busy Saturday night, service was particularly slow despite the fact that it was relatively early (6:30pm) and restaurant was only half full. At least two of our meals tasted very salty (scallops particularly).
Not Gluten Free Friendly. Really liked this place. Good food and atmosphere, but my daughter is gluten free and the choices were limited.
Really enjoyed our dinner. Cheese board and warm bread wonderful. Nice Vegetarian options, fresh fish was great, burger was good too. Wine a bit expensive but nice compliment to our great meals.
friendly competent staff, good variety on the menu, and unique atmosphere.
Always a good place to go for dinner.
Great service and delicious food. Easily accommodated our party of 10.
My family (includes our son and my husband and me) chose Daily Planet for two special occasions. One was my 11 year old son's birthday. They offer a kids menu too. We also all went for our wedding anniversary. We like taking our son because the restaurant has a nice vibe, not too fancy, but fun to expose our son to different foods. The waitress has been so nice and attentive. She remembered us from our first visit there and even what my son ordered, that it was his birthday and the brownie sunday for dessert. We like the corner booth seat in the garden room.
Great food and value, the Brussels sprouts that were enhanced with pork bellies was tasty, waitress, Vanessa was wonderful
Best salad with grilled chicken
The Daily Planet was a great experience for our anniversary dinner. The service was amazing the entire time and the food was outstanding. Tomato Bisque with Grilled cheese croutons and the French Onion steak were the favorites of the night. Cannot forget about dessert, the Apple Cheesecake Wontons were the cherry on top of this delicious meal.
Also, a great selection of drinks.
We will definitely be back!
Very nice. Many of the entrees are available small plates and large plates. Having chosen a small plate, I left feeling not stuffed. 6 of us shared the cheese board and every one seemed to enjoy their meal. The service was exceptional.
Great food and the overall atmoshphere is very relaxed and fun, will be back for more
This is an off-beat restaurant. Menu is interesting. Had the Korean duck - excellent. All of the food was top notch and sharable. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. This is a great place for all kinds of get-togethers. You can make it as formal or as casual as you'd like. The décor is wonderful funky - reminds me of Berkeley in the old days. Very enjoyable - would definitely recommend.
The Daily Planet has long been one of my go-to restaurants; I often take out-of-town visitors there. And it's never disappointed - until this time. It was all about the wait. We were seated at 7:00; drink order at 7:15; drinks arrived about 7:30. Finally gave our order a few minutes after that - appetizer came in about 15 minutes. Our dinners were finally served at about 8:30.
I find this unacceptable and told our waiter. He spoke to the manager, and to give them credit they gave us a 25% discount. So I will be back - but one more wait like that and I'll be done with Daily Planet, much as I love Maura's salad, the delicious small plates, the creative cocktails and the tasteful, comfortable atmosphere.
We walked in and met the hostess who appeared grumpy and unwelcoming. The first thing she told us was that we could be seated but could not order for another 15 minutes because the kitchen was busy. The waiter was friendly and brought drinks right away . The food took quite a while to come and for the most part was
Good. The soups were excellent and the sliders and mac and cheese were good. The salmon was not good- it did not taste fresh and was in a mush on the plate. Waiter told me it was "on ice"
But did not seem interested in whether or not it was ok. Only has a few bites .
Perfect spot for a last minute dinner in Burlington. Great craft cocktails and food was good.
The ambiance is outstanding, staff are so friendly and welcoming, food was awesome.
Great service and great food.
