The Daily Catch Seaport
Restaurant was the boston fan pier location, only one that would take reservations.
It was a Sunday night and the outdoor section was closed and the restaurant was 50% full.
Decor - walls and floor are filthy, table we are seated at was set but not washed.
Waitress was dressed in Pats Jersey and it took a long time to be served and to check out
Food was hot and well prepared not not up to the cost of the meal
Location could not be better.
There are at least 2 other locations, I would try those before going here. We will no be going back.
Price to high for ambiance, service and food quality.
Amazing squid ink pasta, if you have the opportunity definitely recommend.
Delicious food served steaming hot! Monkfish was very fresh.
Excellent food in an informal setting. Black pasta was outstanding!
Amazing food with an excellent view of the city skyline. The service was a little slow, but after one bite of the monkfish Marsala and I had forgotten all about it.
Our food was okay...until we saw several mice on the floor at the end of our meal.
The server made several mistakes with the order: First, putting in an order of baked haddock vs. fried even though when ordering I pointed to the correct entree; Second, charging for french fries that were included with fried haddock; Third, having to be reminded that a coke was ordered to drink. When the incorrect entree arrived, the person bringing it explained they were just delivering the food and the error needed to be taken up with server. The food itself was mediocre and small portions for the amount that was charged. What was described as a cup of chowder came in a bowl that was 1/4 full, which was less than one would expect for a cup. The fried haddock was one mid-sized piece and the calamari and clam pasta had about half of the seafood one would expect. Overall, a very poor experience.
We had reservations but arrived 1/2 hour early. 2 adults and 3 kids. Staff was amazing. They found us a table quickly and were so polite and patient as all 3 kids had questions and were talking and ordering at once. Food was delicious. The kids finished every bite.
The Boston Seaport and views of downtown Boston provides an excellent backdrop for this restaurant. Our appetizer, salad and main entree were all excellent! The Lobster special for two is a definite first choice when we return again! If the weather is conducive the outside seating is where you want to enjoy this fabulous meal.
A place where this name should have fresh, fresh fish and only fresh fish. I asked for monkfish and although the sauce was very good the fish was rubbery and not fresh at all. I told the waitress who said she was telling the kitchen but never absolutely nothing happened. I will never go back nor do I recommend it.
The daily catch in the north end of Boston was our favorite years age. Since we were only in the area at lunchtime we decided to go to the daily catch in seaport. The food was nothing like we remembered from years ago. The portions were small and expensive. We went out of our way to relive one of our favorite dinners and was very
Excellent food! Service was friendly although slow but the food was fantastic!
Food was good.
The food itself was great. The service was horrible. every time we wanted a waiter we had to flag someone down, never came to the table to check in. Outside seating is the way to go here. Inside is very hot and smells very strongly of garlic.
Food was great. Portions, ok. Would have been nice if they offered some dinner rolls or bread to go with the delicious pasta dishes that we all had - something to soak up the sauces. Good waiter, decent service and very accommodating
I made a reservation for early in the evening and yet we were seated at a table at the entrance(therefore the "ambiance" was non existent. 3 out of 5 of us were EXTREMELY disapointed in our meal while the other two in our party thought is was good. I ordered the calamari platter and felt sick for the rest of the evening. There is a parking garage around the corner but to pay Boston parking prices for a meal that was less than fair quality will never justify another trip to the restaurant again. All in our family agreed.
Resturant booked a wedding and could not handle the kitchen to serve guests who where not part of the wedding 1 hour for appetizers and another 40 minutes for main to come out - food over done
Poor service, no deck seating bad experience. Worst restaurant we have tried in Boston.
Everything was great and all attendees were extremely satisfied.
Food was cold. Service was terrible and slow. Hostess was rude.
View was very near nice for one of us but the rest were behind a large wall. Table and benches were very crammed together. Food was mediocre for the price. Got one order wrong. Brought us food without any utensils.
Of the 3 locations, this is by far the best one. Made for an excellent date night on the patio. Food is out of this world and you need to try the black pasta.
Large, crowded, noisy, mediocre food. The view is the only saving grace.
The service was impeccable from the beginning to the end of the meal. The staff was attentive and always had a smile attending a part of 15. Made it extra special when the staff sang birthday song as they brought in the cake.
We had an amazing time celebrating my daughter and nieces Masters Degree graduation!
Everything was perfect, the weather, the view, outside dining and of course the food and service.
It was our first time dining there and it won't be the last!
Thank you for helping to make our family celebration so memorable!
Our server’s name was Irina and she wasn’t the best. Ambiance was great, we sat outside and the weather was gorgeous. Food was okay, calamari tasted frozen. Aglio Olio wasn’t that impressive, too oily and the squid ink pasta wasn’t anything to write home about, honestly tasteless. Bartender made a mocktail that was bomb!!!
Great food, atmosphere and waitstaff. Enjoyed everything about our experience.
Excellent menu choices, very tasty dishes. Some could be a bit more unique or flavorful. Service was adequate--it is distracting when EVERTHING you order is the waitperson's "favorite thing on the menu."
Seafood chowder broth was tasteless. Garlic bread was slightly burnt on the cut side, and ordinary on the inside. Putanesca sauce lacked depth. Freshly-made squid ink pasta was good.
Food was amazing. I had never had enjoyable swordfish until I came here. Staff was very friendly.
They don't actually seem to use OpenTable though. The reservation on OpenTable says that they require same day confirmation, but they never called me, so two hours before the reservation, I called them. The only time slots they could give me on the phone was too early, or 15 minutes after the time I had reserved on OpenTable. We showed up much earlier than that time they gave us, and they were able to sit us right away, so it wasn't a big deal. But I wouldn't book this restaurant through OpenTable in the future if this is their policy.
Nice meal by the water
Nothing special but food good. Only mixed drinks, beer and wine. Service so/so.
have visited restaurant few times and this was by far the worst experience we ever had. Meal took 2 hours to come out, they run out of bread and wine (what you can run and get some?). Food was mediocre after waiting for 2 hours, the red sauce tasted burned. The worst part was that the manager didn't have the decency to come out and speak to people and apologize. There are plenty more waterfront restaurant in the area, i'll make sure I visited all those before Daily catch. The waiter was very nice and was apologetic.
We did have an issue with the wait for our food. The apps came out fine but the meal took an extremely long time. We were told the printer got jammed. Other than that long disappointed wait, it was good
Having been to The Daily Catch in the North End, we were excited to try the newest location in the Sea Port. We made reservations and were seated immediately when we arrived, rather than the usual experience of waiting on line for a small table in a cramped space at the Hanover Street location.
Our drinks and appetizer arrived immediately (almost too soon as it turned out), but then the dinner came to a thundering halt. We waited over an hour for 3 of our 4 main dishes to arrive. The 4th dish took another 10 minutes to hit the table. Although the server was apologetic and offered more (and more) bread, she finally conceded that wait was too long and offered to buy us a round of drinks.
As far as the food quality, my squid ink pasta was tasty, but overall I think the North End location is a better experience. There is nothing like seeing the hot pan hit your table moments after coming off the stove as the blast of garlic hits your nose. So the next time we have a craving for a hot saute pan of linguine with clams, we'll wait in line on Hanover Street with everyone else!
Waitress went missing
The atmosphere is nice and the service was good. Food was mediocre, especially the appetizer and salads.
Pricey for Average food -poor waitress service -nice atmosphere but loud
We had to work through an early miscue on service but the manager resolved the issue and the rest of the dining experience was good. Lovely location on the water. Very noisy ! Hard to have a conversation with the crowd and the 15" spacing between tables. Our pasta entrees were tasty though served in very worn out kitchen pans which wobbled around on the table.
I always enjoy dining at seaport Daily Catch, especially in the summer when we can sit outside. My goto entree is black ink paste putannesca served in the pan. Always excellent!
