Food was very good but ventilation of restaurant is bad and you will wear the smell of food . Plan on changing clothes after dinner. Also no spirits licence, very limited cocktails.
Evening out with family visiting from Chicago. Food was mouthwatering, service was outstanding, ambiance was stellar! Can’t wait to go back again!!
We were very disappointed with our experience. We have wanted to try The Daily Catch in the North End for a while, but we were staying in the Seaport area and were able to walk to The Daily Catch Seaport, so decided to try it. We should have ubered to the North End. They don't offer cocktails as they have only a cordial license. I ordered a vodka citron on the rocks that was sickeningly sweet. Absolut Citron is one of my "go to drinks" and I have never had this issue anywhere else. I feel it should have been disclosed to me that this wasn't a normal vodka citron. My husband would have loved a martini, but settled for a glass of wine. The bread that was brought to the table was stale. The lobster/crab cakes that we had for an appetizer were the best part of our meal. I had grilled swordfish with seasonal vegetables for my main course. It was absolutely terrible. The fish had no flavor whatsoever and the vegetables were overcooked. My husband's pasta dish was better than my meal, but nothing at all special. I was still hungry because i had only picked at my $28 dinner, so I wanted dessert. They were out of the warm gingerbread sundae that I wanted, so we got a bowl of gelato. It was a very tiny serving for the price. My advice: don't go! There are many, many wonderful restaurants in Boston where you can get a delicious meal and not feel ripped off.
The waiter is the best in Boston area and the flexibility of the team, including the Chef, is something that makes difference!! Amazing!! We will be back soon!
The black pasta is too oily. Calamari was good.
Amazing food as always.
We’ve been going to the Daily Catch in various locations for 30 years. It never fails to please. Great special of bay scallops with cacia e pepe with a touch of crab. What a delicious start to the weekend
I used to go to the original Daily Catch on Hanover Street years ago but it's always so hard to get into that small place, and then the one across from Jimmy's until the redevelopment of that area. Food was always special if you love Italian style seafood - including their special dishes, Lobster Fra Diavolo which is loaded with different seafood and a flavor fest, Monk Fish marsala, which, if you've not had Monk fish or even if you have like me, this dish is a killer! I prefer their "served in the pan" dishes- any of them! The sauce is dead on, chowders really flavorful. Can't miss here. I was so psyched that the food was as good as when I used to visit. I'll be back soon. Keep it up guys and please don't change..............
After reservation, we were given a very small 2x2 feet table on the entrance hallway. We will never go back again. Food was ordinary in Boston standard.
Great food and wonderful service. Rachel our server was very fun and gave great food recommendations. Make sure you tr y the squid ink pasta! Would definitely recommend this great spot.
The food was pretty good, but not really hot. The service was not very good at all. I specifically told the waitress I need to eat gluten free (as my reservation indicated) but she still brought the appetizer with bread on it. She was slow to get orders and she did not check back much at all. This is a casual restaurant with prices a little upwards of that. I chose it because they are recommended for their mussels, which were average.
The food is reasonably good at this Daily Catch location. The ambiance doesn't live up to the charm of the other locations. The main course came out two secs after we received our salad so we had to send it back. Also, the server wanted to clear the salad while we were still chewing!
6 of us went for a guys night out. The food and the service was exceptional. Tried black pasta with scallops for the first time and it was amazing. The meal was served in the pan it was cooked it. Of the six we had 5 different entrees and everyone enjoyed theirs. The Sicilian Fish Stew is off the charts good! First time there, we all will be back.
I took my parents out for New Year's and it was the greatest experience. Incredible food, outstanding and fun service, and great ambiance. I was a little surprised that the crowd was mostly millenials, but my parents were enjoying it.
The food was great and the service was better! Chris was a treat and made the evening even better! They will see us again, that is for sure!
Always a good meal at the Daily Catch. We've been going since the 80's . The food was delicious as always. My husband and I shared the Fra Diavolo with black ink pasta. The server was friendly, humorous and attentive. Kudos to her. I will look forward to returning.
I've tried the black ink pasta in the north end location and it was delicious. Ordered the same thing in the Seaport location and was disappointed. It has really bitter taste and the flavor just wasn't the same.
As for service, our server didn't check on us until we were about done eating. There was only 1 other table in the restaurant so not sure why we weren't checked on shortly after the food was served.
Overall- disappointed and would go back to the north end location instead.
There were a lot of family and visitors at the restaurant when we went because it was around the Christmas holidays. Waiter was friendly. Oysters were great, pasta was really good! When I asked for spicey, they really made it super spicey! Ambiance was alrightm I think it would be a lot nicer in the summer when you can actually sit outdoors.
Not the way I remembered. Food was good, not phenomenal. Decor is Meh. Very noisy. Tables crammed too close together. Our server was excellent, but otherwise an un-memorable meal. There are better choices out there.
We have tried many seafood restaurants in Boston but this is absolutely the best in terms of quality and value. The owners have their own fleet of fishing vessels and provide daily freshly caught seafood. The Seaport location is wonderful, with outside waterfront dining. A party of four, we dined on Dec. 27 and my wife and I ordered the LOBSTER FRA DIAVOLO for two which had very generous portions of shellfish, calamari, squid and lobster. It was served over spaghetti prepared al dente and a very delicious "spicy” seafood (with ground calamari) tomato sauce. The consistency and flavor of the spaghetti was the best I have ever eaten. Shane, our bartender and server, was fantastic. He was very attentive and responsive throughout the entire evening and made our dining experience a complete satisfaction.
Not what I remember from attending the North End location. Partner's meal made wrong.
Restaurant dead on a Saturday night at 7:30pm should have told me this wasn't the place to be. Overly lit, and marginal wait service.
Food was inedible
I have ate many place that service seafood but The daily catch just won me over I could eat here anytime. Everything was great.
People opening exit door close to tables. Was cold and noisy. Food was good.
Booked The Daily Catch for my birthday dinner while in town for a conference my husband and his colleagues were attending. Our server was fantastic - very attentive and provided great suggestions. All the food was very fresh and tasty. I would definitely recommend this to someone who was trying to find good seafood without breaking the bank.
Great meal. Very reasonable prices, especially for the neighborhood! Great value!
I’ve been there twice before and loved the food, this time all three entrees were pretty bad overall
By far best meal I've ever eaten was at the daily the catch. Get the lobster fradiavlo and nothing else. Best thing I've ever eaten
Had a nice birthday dinner with my family here. The seafood selection and quality was good but did not blow me away like some other Boston seafood spots (e.g., Island Creek), but I was glad to see local fish offered. I appreciated the variety of Sicilian wines to pair with food. Our server was nice but seemed fairly inexperienced.
We had a party of 7 with 3 kids. The waitress was awesome and the food was outstanding!
Love the Lobster Fra Diavolo and the oysters!
Had to ask for cutlery
We have been here several times over the summer but this was a rare treat in mid October to be able to eat outside. We met friends visiting from Colorado and wanted to share the waterfront.
We felt the food wasn’t as fresh this time as in the past and a bit more greasy.
Hope it was an exception.
It was my first time dining with the Daily Catch the other day for lunch. Prior to that, most of my experience with the restaurant has been enjoying the outdoor bar during the summertime. Suffice to say that the dining experience isn't this restaurants forte. The indoor seating arrangement is limited, however, that wasn't an issue because the restaurant was empty for lunch. That said, due to the lack of patrons, the service was atrocious. Our waiter didn't hand us menus or silverware upon being seated. Rather, he disappeared for about 10 minutes into the kitchen area. We ended up getting our own menus and silverware, and I flagged him down afterwards to place our order.
As for the food, it was mediocre at best. I had a salad and added grilled shrimp (approximately two shrimp). Overall, I wasn't impressed with my meal or the service. From now on, I'm just going to stick to drinking at their outdoor bar.
Amazing food and great service. Went their with my husband and high school kids and picked up our oldest recent college graduate living in Southie. Great last minute dinner idea and everyone had something they loved (and some of my kids dont eat seafood). Loved it
Good came out over a period of 40 minutes. Side dishes had to be requested multiple times....last one came out about the same time as the bill.
Food was delicious and the waterfront dining is beautiful.
Just a shame we couldn't actually have our dinner together and won't be coming back.
The outdoor seating provide one of the best views of Boston. The Service was poor but overall the food was very good.
Delicious Italian seafood. The ambiance wasn’t quite the same as the North End location, but it takes reservation.
Very good food and ambience. Expensive for a business lunch. Would recommend a lunch menu that is less expensive, possibly smaller portions than dinner.
