Have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time, but don't get downtown very often. Our food was exceptionally creative and good. Plus it is fun to be in the historic Hotel Congress. They do make the best cocktails also. There is also live entertainment of some kind in their courtyard area as well. outside seating available for the restaurant.
The place was extremely busy when we arrived. We were seated a few minutes before our reservation time so that was nice. Our server was very pleasant. She quickly apologized for how long it took to get our drinks, but it was completely understandable. We started with the nachos. I'd definitely get them again. After about an hour, our meal still hadn't arrived. The server explained that the kitchen lost our ticket and would get it out as quickly as possible. She offered us free dessert. We didn't have time to wait, but it was a nice gesture. Overall I'd go back again.
We just got together to celebrate early a birthday
Great spot in a great setting. Delicious food, great beer, and really friendly and conscientious staff.
The drunken tacos are delicious.
Interesting menu. Good food. Service was excellent even though restaurant was crowded.
This restaurant is hard to find, at least for my wife and I. I had to ask three people, along the way where it was. There was no street sign as I could see. We got there finally and sat out on the patio. It is an urban surrounding. The seating was fine. The Server was great and was ripped accordingly. The wine was excellent. The food was tasty but not memorable. I can't remember what I ate and that was two days ago. I do recall the desert was tasty. This is a good place to try and add to your foodie resume.
very comfortable, good food, great drinks, service was great overall. would go back! would recommend!
We sat in the patio and enjoyed listening to the music! It was a festive and energetic place to be. The server was nice but not terribly attentive. He seemed to be in a hurry every time we ordered or asked for an item. I felt he was rushing us through our dining experience, I didn't appreciate that at all. Also, when I made the reservation I mentioned we were celebrating our daughter's graduation from her nursing program, yet there was no mention of it by the wait staff. Overall we had a nice experience but not an impressive one.
We are regulars at the Cup Cafe and love the place. Mother's Day was wonderful on the patio. Food was very good, as usual.
We stumbled onto The Cup Cafe looking for a breakfast eatery. It was fabulous and reasonably priced. We sat outside on the patio - it was lovely and relaxing. While we looked over the menu we became intrigued by their lunch and dinner offerings. We made a reservation and went back for dinner. Heavens! It was wonderful. I had the Pork Schnitzel. My husband had Beef Bourguignon. A Cremini Mushroom appetizer. All desserts are made in house. Everything was excellent. Nothing over the top in terms of weird pairings, but very innovative. Give yourself a treat. Any meal will do!
My husband had dinner prior to attending a show at the Fox Theater. We had a lovely table and our service was terrific. We both had the Beyond Burger and it big and delicious! We love to come here and it was the first time we had a reservation-we will certainly do it again!
Wonderful food, and attentive service in a fun historic building. Thank you!
Great food , happy hour was great, noise level ok. Service good . Parking is tough
What a wonderful evening we enjoyed with friends from Gilbert, AZ. The food was excellent and the palce was packed. Always a good sign of a popular place. Our son-in law Carlos was off tonight we missed seeing him.
Tacos were PERFECT in taste, size, serving! Waitstaff had perfect balance.
Always fun at the Cup!
Love the food here. Service was very good as well. Extremely noisy outside made it difficult to have a conversation. Definitely will be back.
The hostess was not friendly and not helpful. I reserved outdoor seating, but was put inside. I could overlook that, but a nice attitude would have been helpful. The wait staff was excellent, the food was above average, and the scene was very cool. Overall, excellent: just lose the hipster attitude, and this place is well worth the trip!
Cup Cafe is the best place for people watching while you experience outstanding service and great food!
Fantastic experience. Friendly staff and fantastic food. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food.
Amazing flavorful vegan options and the staff is always so friendly
After all the check marks I made for recommendations, anything else would be redundant. Seriously, Cups is central to Downtown Tucson. It has it all, great food, service and ambiance. We're locals and will definitely be back.
We always go and just have breakfast there this is the first time we had dinner and it is very very good I had the Scottish salmon my son had the burger my wife had the Ahi tuna salad and my daughter the carne asada nachos and we all loved everything we ordered very good service we will be back for sure for dinner
Great food and ambience, especially to bring out of town visitors. Love the Depot Salad.
We were a party of two couples. Everyone loved the food-both appetizers and dinner. Wonderful service from Lauren-may have been our best service EVER. Good drinks. Noise level was excessive by 8pm. Not a quiet place for a romantic date. Tables are close together. This place is definitely in our top 5 favorites in Tucson.
Ribs with Mac and cheese
Salmon and rice
Chicken with gnocchi
We loved them all and look forward to returning soon.
I’ve been coming to the Cup for years. The current menu is the least interesting ever. Happy hour is for drinks not food which was disappointing also. The staff were friendly and accommodating, per usual, which was nice to see hadn’t changed. We were not able to get the dessert we wanted, which was Banana Cream Pie. It has been a favorite for years but the last few years it’s never available. Every time they say “We have Coconut Creme”..like they are similar?? They are not. I assume they have lost the baker who years ago made their fabulous Banana Cream Pie. I will certainly go back to the Cup in anticipation that perhaps the menu will be more interesting next time..like it has been in the past. And the Happy Hour menu will be more fun than a $9 hamburger, or bread with pesto and / or oil with a bit of vinegar that had no flavor. Please do better..you are an old favorite place to eat, and I would like to continue having great meals down there.
Cup Cafe is located in the Hotel Congress, which is almost a century old & could probably use an update & renovation, though it is quaint; and worth a visit just to look around. Though many tables & servers were available when we arrived, we were told by the hostess that we needed to wait to be seated & directed to the bar. We had planned to order drinks in any case so we didn't mind that, but it seemed a bit obvious that it was just an effort to get us to patronize the bar. We started with some barrio bread, which was very good but ought to be served as a normal bread service with every meal rather than as an appetizer one needs to purchase. My wife's beef dish was very good as was my pesto pasta with chicken (though very rich & filling). Portions are generous though that meant we were too full to try a dessert (which looked appealing). The service was excellent. There is outdoor seating & many options on the menu. It is worth a try.
Usually love this place, but the hotel had an event going on outside the restaurant. It was so loud and intrusive is spoiled a nice dinner. The waitress got our order wrong (probably couldn't hear right).
Always great. Be sure to try the Ghost Orchid cocktail. And the fish tacos are delicious.
It was a wonderful first visit and I plan to return again and again.
A little too noisy outdoors for conversation (musicians' volume seems to demand attention or drown out talking rather than being comfortably quiet in the background to enable conversation)
I asked for an outside table, but was told that it would be 30 minute wait despite the fact that there were multiple open tables outside. We were seated inside and noticed that the same outside tables remained open the entire time that we dined inside. They will not seat two people at a four top table and would prefer to leave it open instead of accommodating the guests wishes. The receptionist was rather rude. Food was good
A favorite since I moved to Tucson in '96. The cocktail menu is terrific. I tried the handsome Harry and then I tried three. From the phone to the table, everyone was friendly and professional. Food is great. Lots of happy diners. I love the Cup.
Four of us had an early evening easter dinner at Yhe Cup. It was an excellent experience. We booked a table on the patio. The food wine and service were very good. We were having such a good time, the waitress had to tell us after 3.5 hours that our table was needed for another reservation. Good thing. We might still be there. We’ll definitely be back.
Great we had a wonderful time
Upbeat and fun. Food was good with nice selection of beer.
Good food - great service! Fine Malbec offered! Where to buy in Tucson?! "Surry"/hostess was very accommodating! Rating s/b be 4.5!
Staff is very friendly. Great service. Sorry that they ran out of salmon but food was very good
