We had a wonderful experience at the Cup Cafe. We brought our out of state friends for dinner. We sat outside in the courtyard. It was cool out that evening but the heaters kept the area very toasty. The food was very good but the ambiance was outstanding! Lights were strung about and there were two musicians playing during our meal. Definitely impressed!
Very good dinner. We had the happy hour nachos and the calamari appetizers. Then for dinner the pasta, fish tacos, fish stew, and burger. We ate everything and it was all good. Our server Keith was great.
The food was good but just average. It appears that the wait staff was having a tiff because we moved tables. Also, not good to sit someone at a table right next to a smoking disposal vessel. The reception was good in that they tried to accommodate our request for a quiet table.
extremely noisy in the dining area. Service was good. Ran out of desert
The Cup Cafe and Open Table need to work together to resolve an issue that evidently happens to many of us who book reservations there using Open Table. When I arrived for my reservation, I was told that the only seating that was available to me and my friends was OUTSIDE. I had chosen standard seating, NOT outside seating, when I made the reservation. Fortunately, the manager eventually “found” an inside table for us, but she explained that her restaurant did not have a system to receive that seating preference information from Open Table, and that I could be assured of preferred seating if I just called directly to the restaurant to make a reservation—bypassing Open Table. I love using Open Table! It is very convenient. Please fix this problem. Kiddos to the manager on duty at The Cup Cafe who handled this incident very professionally!
Rude hostess. Almost ruined the experience but the food was good enough to almost make up for her ineptitude
Great place for food and watching people. We always enjoy the service and food.
Good food, good ambiance, good service, good price. What more would you want?
This place has great food and service. Sitting on the outside patio is very pleasant. There pork schnitzel is excellent. We will return again when in Tucson.
The picture online is not representative of the place. It is very small and not that attractive. Directions were hard because it is part of the historic Congress Hotel.
We had a small table along the wall of the restaurant and not very pleasant. My friends got a salad, soap, salmon. All were not memorable. The coconut cream pie I got was good but not outstanding. They do give a huge piece for two but the cost was $8.00.
We all were disappointed since it has been so highly rated. I will not return.
This is a very hip place in downtown Tucson. Although the noise level is high, the acoustics are such that conversation is possible. Four of us when for an early dinner on Sunday; the place was very busy. Service was a little slow, and it was quite a while before we were served our meals. The food was nothing to write home about, but if you're looking for a fun place to eat, this might fit the bill. We weren't able to sit outdoors, but their patio looked inviting. Note: parking may be a problem.
It's a fun place to go, however, the food is just OK, nothing special sorry to say.
Really wonderful food. The noise level was extreme for us; however, next time we’ll sit outside.
while it was fairly noisy we knew that going in . food was good value and creative. server was excellent. it is a happening place. very glad we went there and will definitely go again. too full for desserts but they looked fantastic.
Recommend, but only if you have lots of time. We were going to a performance, I told the waiter as soon as we sat down what time we had to leave. We got some wonderful appetizers and a glass of wine, but one hour later we still did not have the entrees. When we asked for the bill and explained we had to leave, suddenly our order was delivered to the table. We did not have time to eat it, and thankfully, we were not charged for it. It looked delicious, too bad it took so long that we had to leave without eating.
We both went to eat the Fish & Chips. It was quite good, as always, 17 $ seemed a little to high for fish and potatoes, but not too much. I know there alot of people to be paid and a lot of bills to pay also, So , the price was not too bad, considering
Pesto pasta with vegetables was amazing! Loved the margaritas. Service was excellent, starting with the person seating me. Alex the bartender/server was awesome. Carrot cake slice was huge and yummy as expected. I had only eaten breakfast and lunch here in the past, and enjoyed the food very much. The historic hotel setting makes it all the more enjoyable. I look forward to dinner here again in the future.
The noise level was pretty noisy. Food was good. Pork Schnitzel was good but the noodles were dry & under-cooked . Ribs were very good. Probably a better idea is to sit outside, at least you can hear yourself & your friend speak!
Food was okay, pretty good service.
We brought friends from Denver to the Cup. The rainy night curtailed our bar-hopping plan so we just had a drink in the lobby and then dinner. As is usual the food was quite good. We started with the kung pao calamari which is one of our favorite appetizers in town. Our dinners included the nicoise slad, the depot salad, beef bourguignon, and the pan roasted salmon. Everyone was satisfied with the preparations and with the quantities.
Our waitress was very personable and enhanced our experience. Will continue to hit the Cup...always an enjoyable experience.
Always excellent service & excellent food! Always doing their best to please...❤️
Wonderful Tucson place for breakfast, lunch or dinner----you can't go wrong!
Outstanding food at a great location in downtown Tucson. We enjoyed the food and ambiance, and would definitely go again!
A trip to the Cup is always an experience. The old Congress Hotel it is housed in. The aray of people in the restaurant and around it. But what makes it very special is the food served in this unpretentious atmosphere. Worth the visit.
Showed up well before reservation and was seated late. Was cold where our seat was and asked to move and was informed there weren't anymore. The were at least two empty two patron tables and one was never occupied during our dinner.
Arrived about 20 minutes early, we were able to get seated as soon as we arrived, everyone was friendly, our server was very helpful and prompt. The food was also great!
Great food, unique setting and friendly & helpful staff. One of our favorites!
$20 over charge for items not ordered. Charged both incorrect and correct bill. Still waiting for correction.
Super slow service, but very good food! We went on a Tuesday and it was busy and we waited for a long long time for food and even for water.
Absolutely, one of the must go places to eat in Tucson! It is our go-to place before a concert at The Fox because it is within walking distance, quiet, great food & service. You will not be disappointed! 🤗
Great service from Celeste. As a foodie I took her recommendations, and loved them all. From appetizer, salad, entree and the Coconut cream pie.
Kitchen doesn’t open for dinner until 5:00 PM, so don’t bother with 4:30 reservations.
Prompt greeting by the hostess. We were a little early but were able to be seated without waiting. The server and busser both provided fast, friendly and professional service. Alex, the busser recognized the need to move the patio heater closer to the table when the wind picked up and took care of that without being asked. Not just for our table but all the others. The server asked if separate checks were needed, which is a nice touch. Food was well prepared, attractively presented and tasty. Overall another great experience.
Busy Saturday night...our table for 6 ready upon arrival...excellent cocktails....for me, the perfect atmosphere. In the multiple times I have eaten there , and had a variety of the menu offerings and specials, I have always been very happy with the food. It is a wonderful mix of humanity enjoying great food in a unique setting, in a fun downtown...
Great hip spot with good food, cool decor and excellent pie. Make a reservation or risk a long wait.
This was our first visit because we live in the foothills and rarely eat downtown. The waiter was particularly helpful in helping us with house specialties. The food was excellent. We will be back!
A++ excellent food, great service and a vibrant crowd
Fun location in a historic hotel (Hotel Congress). Very lively vibe. Really good food - innovative and local. Good happy hour
First time at the cup cafe and definitely will be a return customer. Food was excellent and service top notch!
All five of us thought the food was delicious. The cocktails and service were good too. The only complaint was that the noise level was too high for easy conversation.
