The food never disappoints and the lovely Hotel Congress is such a great old building!
All good but food took 40 minutes after ordering. Made for a rushed meal to get to ATC on time.
I feel like it’s my home away from home!
The food is wonderful and the service impeccable. I appreciate having my dietary needs accommodated. My usual server, Celeste, is lovely and so kind.
Food was solid for the most part but service was awful 45 minutes and we hadn’t even ordered yet...
definitely get dessert though..
Normally, the food is amazing. Ordered the prime rib and was very disappointing. It was mostly inedible fat and gristle. I never would have put it on a plate.
The Cup is near our dance and music studio and we love to come to the cup after class. It's our standby and a local gem. The food is pretty much always outstanding. We can in the last hour, and probably because of that we waited for food a little longer, and had to send the soup back to get hot. This is the first that's ever happened. Our waitress is one that we've had many times and she's great with us and remembers us and we REALLY appreciate being able to come in the last hour, especially when we have guests from out of the states (like last night). Thank you Cup for being accommodating over the years. Can't go wrong with this place for drinks and dinner and an overall hot spot for downtown activity.
Our server, Celeste, was great! Food & drinks perfect for pre-concert dinner! We’ll be back!
Went for dinner on a friend’s suggestion. Pleasantly surprised with the delicious butternut squash soup, lettuce chickpea fritters , barrio bread with 3 different spreads. Finished dinner off with a fantastic carrot cake. So moist. the filling was just right. Not too surgery. Found out the desserts are made on site. my friend had 3 different tacos and liked them all.
I will be back to try other items on the menu. All service staff were pleasant.
There were six of us for dinner on the patio on the evening of mid-term election results. They had a large screen up so we could see what was happening. The darling young lady that seated us was excited as she had voted for the first time. A change in Congress at the Congress!!
Our waitress was very friendly and catered to both my aging parents and vegan kids. Service was great and timely with the food wonderful as always. We live in Tucson during the winter and stop at The Cup at least a couple of times. Not the cheapest meal but never disappoints!!
We love Cup Cafe. The food is always good. The drinks are well made. Happy hour drinks are available. We had a $16 bottle of Cabernet that was acceptable. The apps we tried were shrimp bruschetta and Drunken Fish tacos. We liked them all. One of our party had the Schnitzel, another had the salmon salad and another the trout. All meals were very good. We tried 2 desserts--cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake. We liked the cheesecake but thought the cake was too dense. Our server was great--helpful, pleasant and prompt. We like the rustic setting with gourmet menu. The outside area is huge and offers entertainment on some evenings.
Went there for our 35th anniversary while we were on vacation in Tucson. Great meal, great service and a very enjoyable dinner.
Always great! Great atmosphere on the patio during the All Souls evening. We will continue our annual tradition of dinner on the patio prior to the Procession.
Although Day of Dead Procession took place this afternoon/evening with loud band outside; six of us had a great time inside as we celebrated two family members' birthdays with dinner followed by sharing three gluten-free and dairy-free desserts.
BTW: Self and hubby are regular Friday morning "breakfast and dessert" eaters at the Cup Cafe, and we regularly tell our friends about the Cup. We live in Green Valley. AZ.
Always a great meal. Highly recommend. Sit on patio if you want to listen to the entertainment outside at Club Congress.
We were seated outside for a 6:15 reservation - in November! Since even Arizona cools off this time of the year, I was a little worried about the temp. But there were heaters, many heaters, in the outdoor seating area so we were totally comfortable for the 2 hours we were there.
The food choices were extensive - we started with fish tacos for the table and they were beyond delicious.
Drinks were also interesting, as was the coconut cream pie for desert.
Pleasant experience, delicious food. Had reservation, so no trouble getting served and finished in time to get to a show afterwards.
Seating was timely, waitress was friendly & took our order timely. Salads came timely & were delicious! Our
Entrées WERE SERVED AT LEAST 45 MINUTES AFTER THE SALADS! Only after people around us who had been seated 1/2 hour after us received their salad/ appetizers and their entres did I questioned about our entrées. We finally got our entrées One hour and 10 Minutes after being seated!! ###The food was excellent but ruined by the timing!
I love The Cup. It never disappoints. I love the variety on the menu. Something for everyone. At reasonable prices. Great martinis! Salads, fish tacos, salmon are my faves. I do wish it wasn't so noisy inside the restaurant. Outside, when weather permits, is always quieter for good conversations. Hooray for locally owned businesses!
I love coming to The Cup for my meals. It is always good and I enjoy the atmosphere.
Tucson-funky, fun, a favorite scene for visitors and locals alike.
We are glad that we came to The Cup to celebrate on a double special occasion. The food, service and experience was very good, as we expected. It is well worth the "effort" of coming into town to dine here.
I wanted a seafood choice which was Thai stew, but didn’t want it spicey, as usually prepared . The chef modified the recipe and prepared an excellent mild seafood stew. Ingredients fresh and generous. Very tasty. Would order again. Great job. Many thanks! My husband enjoyed the French beef bourginoin. The dining room was very busy on a Thursday evening. Live music outside on patio, but unfortunately they were so loud we could hear them inside too, and had trouble hearing each other speak. We were sitting next to the door to the patio and that probably allowed the sound to transmit our way. Certainly did not spoil our dinner.
Very neat place with a neat selection of food. The bread was awesome as well as my ribs with Mac n cheese. Enjoyed a little comedy after dinner then made our way outside to some live music. Had a great time and hope to come back and stay in one of the hotel rooms one day.
This was the best fish and chips I’ve had in Tucson. I’d rank it up there with the best I’ve had in the British Isles.
I always love dining at The Cup Cafe. The menu has unique farm to table dining experience with local flair that is Tucson.
Another great dinner @ The Cup! Was hoping for a night on the patio but rain got in the way. Turned out to be perfect regardless. Thanks!
Street tacos (pictured) were delicious. And hearty for an appetizer. I had it for my meal! Cocktails on Mondays are great! They focus on local Whiskey Del Bac. The staff is amazing too!
Decent food, good service, not too expensive, portions generous.
Thai Seafood Stew was excellent. Attentive and pleasant service.
Would go back. We are from Austn Tx and this restaurant was awesome!
Was exceptional service from Keith the ambience however was much too now there was a group behind us That could be heard thruout the facility.
Great food as always. Beautiful creative drinks. Had to get to the Rialto for a show. I never knew they could also be fast!!
Food was good. Service was pretty slow at best. Patio looks amazing, I wish we would have sat outside.
First time there even though I have lived in Tucson for 50 years ! Always have been curious about the Congress Hotel and dining there, but was concerned about where to park. Found out could park directly across the street in Maynard's parking lot. Easy ! We regularly go to the TSO and ATC performances and decided to find a place to eat downtown before the performances. It worked out perfectly and we will definitely do it again. The food was very good, served nicely and reasonably priced. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed it very much.
Been to Cup Cafe many times and always great. Tonight was off. The main salmon sauce was tangy or too citrusy and did not taste as I remembered. The sweet potato purée was cold and my salmon was not cooked as asked. Our dessert was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent. Wine was great too. All in all very lovely but salmon was disappointing and pricey
We gave this restaurant another try after having a very bad experience a month ago with a metal object in my food, which was truly a mishap that was due to malfunction on the fyer for my calamari BanMi sandwich. The taste was fabulous until I felt a sharp item in my bite. But please note cup cafe restaurant did everything a fine restaurant would do and took care of our bill. They apologized over and over agin. I like The Cup Cafe. The food usually had been very good since I have eaten here 5 times already. Will I go back? possibly yes, but not got a very long time.
Overall given situations they are nice people. Great desserts!
With its excellent service, inventive menu and friendly atmosphere, Cup Cafe never disappoints!
It's one of our favorite restaurants in downtown Tucson. The food is always excellent and the service is always great.
Great place for a quick or dinner with friends - the food is outstanding
Every minute was just perfect. We arrived 15 minutes early for a cocktail at the bar. The bartender was friendly and informative. We were seated on time. The service was fantastic and the food was better. We are not dessert people but the server was convincing. Again, delicious. Thank you for using recyclable and biodegradable to go stuff. Every wee bit helps.
Fred and I will be back. And, like always, I will refer The Cup Cafe to friends.
Sorry, this time or dinner just wasn't as great as in the past. Service was good and drinks were fine. The food just wasn't up to the prior standard. The Santa Cruz flank steak with calabacitas and the Fish and Chips were both a bit disappointing. We'll be back though. We've enjoyed many excellent meals at the Cup!
