Excellent menu & service great wine list highly recommended
Our server (David) was awesome.
Food was excellent, steak with Fois Gras butter was pretty incredible. My wife’s scallops were some of the best tasting she has had.
Our favorite thing was the cheese/dip free appetizer.
Only “gripe” could be the condition of the bathrooms.
We would certainly come here again.
It was a Hamilton night. The waiter was all over it by taking excellent care of us and ensuring that we got to the play in time.
Without a doubt, our favorite dining experience in the Greater St. Louis area.
Valet parking(not cost), friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent wait staff and first class menu.
We tend towards the Tasting Menu and the wine pairings. Excellent, excellent value.
Our only regret is not living closer!
The food was awesome, service was outstanding - Douglas was a treat - and overall experience was GREAT!
Food was fantastic, as was the service.
Fabulous from top to bottom. Our server was Kala and we loved her!
The blue cheese augratin appetizer with melba toast is delicious. We ordered the beet salad with goat cheese and a filet topped with morel mushrooms! Just delicious! We had the chocolate tart for dessert. We loved the food quality and we had excellent service! We will be
The Crossing is the best restaurant in the Greater St. Louis area, bar none....
Great food and service. Noise level was a little high for my taste.
We had a great birthday dinner experience here. We will definitely be going back.
Fantastic as always! Every dish outstanding. Servers knowledgeable and friendly.
Pricy but worth every penny!
We always have a great experience at the Crossing. They are attentive to my allergy needs, let us stay with friends as long as we like, and provide an outstanding meal
Terrific service and fabulous food! Outstanding dining experience!
Overall good dinner on Pre-Easter Saturday night celebrating my birthday. Reservations for 7 pm expecting things to slow down some after 8 but they actually got busier. The food was really good and our server Gus was great but the restaurant, in general, seemed just a little busier than they could handle efficiently. The biggest issue was that the timing between courses was a little longer than we like. We both got the 4 course dinner and overall time from seating to receiving dessert was about 2:15. 90 minutes would have been more appropriate. It was 9:45 when we left.
This was quite possibly the best meal my fiancé and I have ever eaten! Absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend to anyone and everyone!
We wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we had just moved to St Louis from Chicago. We found the food, ambiance and overall experience to be outstanding. No question we will be back!
Our evening at The Crossing was excellent. The restaurant is small, but vibrant. The menu selections were outstanding and varied, with noteworthy specials. We had a couple of people in our group with special dietary requirements; the restaurant went out of its way to provide great choices. The food was very, very good. Our server was both very helpful and had an enjoyable personality. The restaurant is a little pricey, but not too expensive for the overall experience. The only constructive criticism is in the physical state of the restrooms. They are clean, but a bit shabby for a restaurant of this caliber.
One of our favorites! My husband and I are expecting our first baby in a week and this was the last date night I requested. Excellent service. The foie app is one of the best and we always get one of the beet salads. Beautiful plating. Always a wonderful meal.
The chef really nailed the Grand Tasting Menu. The food was diverse and flavorful, it went well with the wine pairings! Definitely a dining experience we will revisit in the future.
Last time we sat next to the bathrooms, this time next to the bar and couldn’t hear each other!
Definitely request where to sit when you make a reservation!
Perfect! Birthday dinner - there was a card on the table and they wished us a happy one. Love this place for a Gourmet meal
Great variety on the tasting menus. Food & wine were delicious and service was great. It is pricey, but still felt it was a good value for the quality we got.
Foie Gras was divine- salad was not up to the usual standard. We both enjoyed our entrees.
The Crossing has been one of the very best restaurants in St. Louis for years. Food and service were top-rate, as always. One nice thing is that the atmosphere created by the staff is not at all "stuffy, attire is everything from dressy to nice casual. Our two teenage kids felt very comfortable. Complimentary valet parking, always a plus for downtown Clayton.
The lamb chops were exceptional (first bite an OMG food moment!). Others at our table had the standard fix price menu, 5 courses, a great deal at $35 with options all from the regular menu. The portions of the sides were a bit smaller than ala carte, but not by much. The entree and dessert portions were the same size as the regular menu portions. The trout was fantastic, best I've ever had. Everything was excellent. There are two other levels of the tasting menu ($50 & $80) --I'm sure the $80 Chef's Choice would be amazing.
Service--as an example, after I ordered a glass of wine, the wait person came back and said they were out of that wine, and gave me a different glass--a white burgundy, fantastic and definitely a more expensive wine. Also, it was our son's 16th birthday--they had a handwritten happy birthday card at the table when we arrived--nice touch!
Every course was phenomenal, fresh pasta, fresh bread, flavorful salad, amazing dessert.. We went back a second night because we couldn’t believe it was that good. It was.
Fabulous flavors, great wine selection and friendly excellent servers. Next time I’m in St. Louis going back to this restaurant is at the top of my list.
We could not discern whether the server was trying to be funny, or was just awfully rude. We were left at the end of the meal for a half an hour before we had to ask a bus boy to tell our server we needed our check. Some of the food was very good, some was was you'd expect to eat at a TGI Fridays. The chef came by and was incredibly friendly, down to earth and helpful in meal selection.
Everything was elegant and delicious and was not pretentious. It was perfect for a birthday dinner. The service was excellent.
Took my wife for her birthday. When booking the reservation online, I was asked if it was for a special occasion. I selected "birthday" and filled in my wife's name. Upon being seated, there was a birthday card at the table. The services was absolutely top-notch. The wait staff was really on top of everything, without once being a burden. Dishes were cleared quickly after being finished, and our drinks were always full.
Prior to having our starters and entrees, my wife and I devoured the complimentary Bleu Chees Souffle (and a second one). My wife had lamb, and I had the beef tenderloin. Both were outstanding. I would recommend The Crossing, without even a hint of hesitation, to anyone that is looking for a restaurant in the area.
If you like food try this restaurant, you won't be disappointed. The staff is friendly, Gus is spot on with his service.
First the service was impeccably great. Very friendly and attentive waiter who really gave honest and excellent recommendations. The food was extraordinarily excellent. Very subtle tastes on every dish that was just right versus being overbearing. This was the first that my wife and had been there. We will comeback for certain. It was not cheap food but great food well worth the price.
Excellent food, excellent service and a generous 8 oz pour on the wine. The 2009 house Beaujolais was rich thick and plummy and worth the trip all by itself. Food cooked to perfection!
Outstanding food and wine pairings. Douglas always takes care of us.
Although the service and atmosphere was very good, I was disappointed in the food. I had not been to the restaurant for a number of years but remember it as outstanding but I did not have the same experience this time around. The presentation was very good but the dish was bland and everything tasted the same. I'm not sure why, but was disappointed. Thank you.
Did the tasting menu and it was incredible. Terrific wine selection
Food was bland and I felt rushed by the wait staff to turn the table over.
One of our favorites in St. Louis, you can always count in a great meal with excellent service.
This was simply an amazing meal FROM THE MOMENT WE SAT DOWN. We were brought a free bleu cheese soufflé that was delicious and not overly pungent. We did the tasting menu, which was fantastic. We got the beet salad, egg raviolo (essentially carbonara with a perfectly cooked/runny egg yolk inside), and scallops. Each dish was superb. I also got an old fashioned that was made with some sort of spice. It was fantastic. The boulevardier I also had was adequate, but if I had it to do over again, I'd have stuck with the old fashioned. The bread with salted butter was consistently filled. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
