Amazing quality food in a very cozy ambiance.
Great food with great staff. We booked it for our anniversary and also received a "Happy Anniversary" card from our waitress.
As usual, the food and the service were top notch!!
We love The Crossing and can’t wait to go back!
Always a family favorite, Jim Fiala’s The Crossing was rocking Saturday evening, Aug. 17. Service and food were exceptional once again.
The Crossing is our favorite restaurant in all of St Louis. It has been for 15+ years. The food at every course is simply the best and they serve food you just don’t get anywhere else. The wait staff is always very professional. Convenient and fast valet parking eliminates the Clayton parking issue.
Wow, the tasting menu did not disappoint. Perfect portions, everything was prepared and presented exquisitely, and the flavors were outstanding. We hope to return for a chance to enjoy the grand tasting menu! The space is a bit noisy, but the attentive staff and phenomenal food/wine more than make up for it. Can’t wait to return for another special occasion!
Wonderful evening with old friends. The service was excellent and as usual the meal was outstanding!
1st time at the Crossing! The food was wonderful, the waiter was attentive and we enjoyed our evening!
Kayla was an amazing waitress - so professional and sweet and knowledgeable about the food. They also did a card and a candle and ice cream for my friend’s birthday. It was a great meal!
I love this restaurant. The food is consistently good and the service impeccable. It is expensive but well worth it.
Service and food is awesome !
For many years, the Crossing has been our place for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, or any other excuse to go that we can come up with. Always reliably excellent. The mix of relaxed but upscale is perfect for an adult evening out. It's the only place we go to in this price range where we know we are going to leave feeling good about what we spent.
Wonderful service and an outstanding meal. The tasting menu was an excellent value and a great opportunity to explore the menu. Our server pointed out the tasting menu is essentially open to the entire menu, so both my husband and I were able to completely customize it to our liking. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff even signed a birthday card and had it waiting in our table when we arrives. We will certainly go back.
Fantastic experience. Try to sit at the bar.
Gus was our server and blessed us with a remarkable dining event from beginning to end. The eight-course chef's menu was amazing and the wine pairings enhanced every bite. This birthday celebration for my wife was the perfect gift. Thank you to all the folks at The Crossing who served my table or parked my car! Well done.
Always exceptional fine dining with European/American cuisine fashioned by esteemed Chef, Jim Fiala, along with a superior spirits and wine selection - especially for Saint Louis!
Truly a very enjoyable experience.
Looking forward to our next visit
Excellent as usual!!! Jimmy never lets you down!!!
We had an excellent meal - and the service was great as well. They should try to set up tables on the sidewalk.
Birthday celebration with family... it was great!!
Great dinner to celebrate a special occasion. The only complaint was the noise level.
Fabulous food as always, thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu!
Our first visit to The Crossing was memorable. Our server, Kayla, was excellent and helped walk us through the wine list and menu. She also provided several recommendations based on our preferences. The wine list is extensive and we found many good choices. The also allow you to bring your own wine as long as it isn’t on their list. They do charge a $25 corkage fee. We decided to go with the tasting menu ($50/person for four courses which is a great deal). The peach salad, crab cake, mint stracci, scallops, and peach pie were all amazing. Each is a “smaller” portion but the entire meal was more than enough as we had to take some home. Throughout the entire evening Kayla was always present but was never intrusive. We were always taken care of but had plenty of time for our private conversations. The atmosphere in the restaurant is casually elegant. The customers wore everything from suit & tie, to business casual, to very casual (shorts). Our only complaint was the noise level was a bit high. The tables are close together and many are close to the kitchen. But it is still reasonable and we had no trouble hearing each other. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to eat there again.
Amazing meal ! Best halibut that I have ever had.
Can food be exquisite? If it can, then that is what is found at The Crossing. A recent meal opened with a delicious chilled cantaloupe soup, delicately flavored, followed by an amazing peach and ricotta ravioli made in-house with 3 types of pasta: spinach, beet, & (I think) butternut squash. The pasta was topped with a brown butter walnut sauce that was lovely but (for this usually low-fat diner) just a tiny bit too rich. The meal ended with a orange vanilla custard whose sweet, delectable creaminess was perfectly balanced by the bite of orange and liquorish vanilla. Service was impeccable, and the atmosphere perfect for relaxed conversation. All in all an exceptional experience & I can’t wait to return!
Amazing food and service.
Went early so quiet, later was the average American noise level .
Food is good, service very good.
This place was packed on a Thursday evening so lucky we got last minute reservations. Our meals were absolutely outstanding. The Heirloom tomato and burrata cheese salad was my favorite, although my husband liked his local peach salad a lot. He declared his branzino fish dish the best he had ever had and I agreed after a couple of tastes on my part. My morel pasta was wonderful. The only downfall was since I have to be gluten free, the gluten free pastas are not as good as regular, but the dish itself was a treat. The flourless chocolate cake with ice cream was divine. Definitely would go to this restaurant when in the area next, but would try the tasting menu to get a wider sampling of this wonderful cuisine.
The Crossing is one of my favorite restaurants. Service and food are excellent. Tried bolognese and loved it. I always have the beet salad. Fried peaches for dessert was the perfect end!
Food really good. Fixed price menu good value
Faults were noise level very high and food portions too large( not a complaint for many)
Very delicious dinner for all 3 !
Zach provided exceptional service!
Lunch is better than dinner.
Food was fair plus at best best.
Main course veal t-bone poorly presented
We did the tasting menu, everything was fantastic. The drinks were great, the wait staff was nice and attentive.
The Crossing is getting better each year!
It is pricey but well worth it. The staff and food were excellent. Looking forward to dining there again.
This was our second visit. It was every bit as good as the first. We had the tasting menu. Everything was outstanding! Highly recommend this for both fantastic food and service.
Fantastic service. Incredibly reasonably priced for the quality and quantity. Our waiter was one of the best I’ve had anywhere.
The food was excellent as always. My husband and I both ordered fish entrees and they were delicious. Prepared perfectly and wonderful sides. Cannot beat the blue cheese spread that they bring at the beginning of the meal.
