Featuring local "farm to table" cuisine using a breadth of farmers in the Missouri and Illinois communities. When asked to define of The Crossing, Owner/Executive Chef Jim Fiala often says that he is a chef that buys locally whenever possible and cooks as any French and/or Italian chef would given the ingredients sourced. Joining Jim is Chef Thu Rein Oo who brings passion and years of experience to the kitchen. Our food is fresh, organic (whenever possible), seasonal and by design very simple. The Crossing stays true to classic techniques and the chefs love showing off their skills and passion for elegant food.

    I had a reservation for 4 for dinner after my daughter’s college graduation on Monday. We unexpectedly had a family member join us at the last minute, as often happens with graduations. I called on Saturday to try to increase the number in our party, but was never able to reach a human. When we arrived for our reservation, the man at the front desk was extremely rude when I asked if we could squeeze 5 people at our table. (“We are completely booked, and we do NOT ‘SQUEEZE’ here.”). We would have walked out and gone elsewhere, but they charge a $75 per person fee if you cancel within three days of your reservation. I ended up letting my family eat there with their cousin, and spent my daughter’s graduation dinner eating by myself across the street. (As an aside, my family mentioned that there IS in fact a bar there, where one of my kids could have eaten, which was not mentioned to us as an option.) I am not unreasonable and can understand if they truly could not accommodate us, but a little compassion and kindness in a difficult situation should not be too much to expect from someone in the hospitality industry. So beware when making a reservation here; if there’s the slightest chance your plans may change, I strongly suggest booking elsewhere.

    Great service from our waiter, Josh! He did an awesome job explaining all of the specials on the menu. The wine selection was great, and the food was decadent. Overall, the restaurant had a wonderful ambiance!

    Excellent unexpected experience in St. Louis, MO. The food was fantastic! (I had the tasting menu with Crudo, Octopus, Halibut, and Chocolate Torte. My husband had the Ribeye.) I love how they offer high end wines by the glass too.

    Had a really fun, yummy dinner at the bar of The Crossing. The bar tender Matt manor a fun night for us. The food was delish and overall atmosphere was amazing.
