Featuring local "farm to table" cuisine using a breadth of farmers in the Missouri and Illinois communities. When asked to define of The Crossing, Owner/Executive Chef Jim Fiala often says that he is a chef that buys locally whenever possible and cooks as any French and/or Italian chef would given the ingredients sourced. Joining Jim is Chef Thu Rein Oo who brings passion and years of experience to the kitchen. Our food is fresh, organic (whenever possible), seasonal and by design very simple.     The food was great. The server was very knowledgeable and attentive. It was a very expensive meal as it was $400 for 2 people. Overall it was a great experience.

    A lovely evening with a very flexible tasting menu. Good choice of half bottles of wine, too. Our server made helpful suggestions and the staff moved through the restaurant like a well-choreographed ballet. The roasted beet salad, the lamb chop special, and a delicious semifreddo were top notch. It it weren’t 300 miles from home, I’d make a reservation next week!

    Recently celebrated our anniversary at The Crossing. Started the evening with the signature blue cheese souffle and a toast of Billecart-Salmon. We both had the New Zealand venison loin as our main course and it was delicious, prepared perfectly with an incredible red wine venison jus that paired nicely with a 2012 Pontet-Canet bordeaux. Soup, foie gras, and the warm chocolate tort and fried apple pie, both with gelato, from the tasting / dessert menu rounded-out another great meal at The Crossing. Service is always attentive but relaxed, and the entire staff welcomes you as family. Make a reservation at least a week or so out - you won't be disappointed.

    Wow! The food and drinks here are absolutely outstanding! They offer many specials not on the menu, and allow you to insert them into the tasting menu. All of our dishes were delicious. The butternut squash pasta, and Dover some were specials last night- outstanding! My husband had the steak- his plate was practically licked clean, and the wines by the glass were wonderful accompaniments to a very special meal. Our server, David, was knowledgeable, and make excellent recommendations. The only downside of this foodie delight is that it is pricey, so be ready to spend some dough!

    The meal we had at The Crossing is the best overall meal I’ve ever eaten in the United States. I’m not exaggerating! We did the Chef’s grand tasting menu and let me tell you, the 8 courses were outstanding and well worth the price. Our waitress was absolutely lovely, Chef Jim came to greet us and explain several of the dishes, and the wine pairings were immaculate. A real highlight was a lamb dish that he made for us (not on the menu in any other capacity). The octopus was tender and full of flavor, and the quail is to die for. I don’t know if The Crossing has ever been evaluated by Michelin, but it absolutely deserves at least 2 stars. We will certainly be back!

    What I love most about The Crossing is I get preparations that I get nowhere else. For me, the easy choice is the nightly seafood special. They have only been outstanding. The service is also always better than I get anywhere else. It seems the only “rule” is to give the diner a wonderful experience.

    Great food and service. And what sets it apart from other places are the portions. You get 5-6 scallops (instead of the universal 3), and I’m pretty sure I got an entire breast of duck.

    The food was absolutely amazing- my partner and I opted for the four-course tasting menu, and we had no regrets on our choices! The only unfortunate thing was the inflated cost of a basic coffee with dessert, but I think the experience we had made up for it.
