    had gone there as MYneighborhood bar 2 times but the 3rd just turnedme off: JUST LOST MY BET FRIEDN THAT MORNIGN TO LUNG CANCER AND WAS HOPEING TO GRAB A DRINK AT THE BAR BUT THE BAR TENDER THOUGHT MY GRIEF WAS "INTOXICATION" --LOL-- I WISH!! They refused me a drink -- didn't even give me a chance to request a ginger ale and a stuPid hotdoG before she called her"boss" to help me be thrown out! I was NOt drunk when I walked in and obviously was floored with the attitude -- NEVER GO IN THERE IF YOU NEED A PLACE TO SETTLE YOURSELF DOWN.TO END THIS: FUNNY HOW MANY UNDER AGE KIDS I WOULD FIND THERE BUT NEVER SAID ANYTHING ---SHOULD'VE , RIGHT? MANY HAVE BOASTED TO ME WHEN THEY WOULD SMOKE OUTSIDE THE BAR HOW THEY WERE 19 ETC. YES I SHOULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING BUT THE AFTERNOON WEEKDAY BARTENDER SEEMED SO "SMART" THOUGHT ITS HER JOB TO DO SO??? NO? WELL A FORMAL COMPLAINT IS GOING OUT THX TO YOU BEING SO STRICT WITHA GREIVING PATRON. GOOD LUCK. BUT NEXT TIME SOMEONE COMES IN THAT YIYU THINGK "WAS DRINKIN" , WHAT OCCUPATION ARE YOU IN?     My friends and I had Brunch at the Crooked Knife on our last day in the city and it was perfect. My friend's original order was wrong and they were so helpful and friendly and fixed it immediately with no delay. We loved our food and our experience. It is also a great location close to 5th avenue. I would highly recommend it.

    we didin't know what to expact but it was a great evening; the food was delicious and the waiter very kind and helpfull. We enjoyed being there and definitly going back once we are in Manhattan again!!

    This poor recommendation is for the 30th Street location of Crooked Knife only. The food was meh and the service was horrible. It took forever to see a server; and once we got our food, they didn't check on us and we had to hunt them down for the check. And then I ended up taking my check to the host because I was tired of waiting for the server to come back to get the check. Also, the seating was quite cramped where they put us.

    Went here with a date/friend, having been to the location on 14th street. Interior is unique, not sure how to describe it, but very relaxed. Restaurant was not busy this night (weeknight) so it was quiet but I don't imagine that was the case. FOOD WAS SO GOOD. I was disappointed the portobello (ty spell check) burger was out that night, so i instead opted for the vegetable lasagna which was outstanding. So good, even though it was a hot summer evening in NYC. This was my first time at this location but have been to the 14th street spot at least 3 times. Food and vibe is totally great, service is usually fine. I'm sure I'll be back.

    It started off nice. Then my order came out wrong and the waitress never asked if everything came the right way. I made a reservation so we would have to rush or fight for a seat and before our plates and drinks were finished multiple waiters were telling us we had to leave because the next reservation had arrived. We were prepared to order more drinks and food but were never given the chance especially because we were told we had to leave. Very disappointed. Very limited menu. Very put off. Would not return or recommend.

    This was our second time to the Crooked Knife for brunch and it did not disappoint; however, it was our first visit to this location in Murray Hill. It wasn't as busy as the other location, but the food and service were just as great!! We will be back for sure!1

    Really cool ambience, met a friend for a late lunch on a Friday and it was pretty quiet. We had BLTs on special that were perfect. Great beer menu and happy hour prices.

    This place is incredible. Our party of five, showed up an hour before our reservation and we didn't wait a minute to be seated. Our waitress constantly refilled our drinks and the food was phenomenal. Would definitely come back!

    walking into the Crooked Knife you get greeted by an energetic and very nice young man. He sat us at a nice corner table where we waited and waited. A smug waitress came by with the personality of a rock took our order and wasn't seen until the plates were off the table and I had to call her to come by for a check. she never asked how the food was asked to fill a drink or smiled. I've been in the restaurant business and know this type of person is what can wreck a great place. She got a $l.00 tip from me. it would have been no tip but since I paid with a card I wanted her management to see the amount she received.

    Very attentive service. They got our drinks at brunch right away and the refills were consistent. Great portions for the food-which also came out quickly. They were very nice and even though the service was quick, we were never rushed out of there. Would highly recommend.

    Irish pub with a very nice atmosphere. Decent food, including a good tomato basil soup. Good Irish music two-person band started at 7. Enjoyable experience.

    Good food, very pleasant pub ambiance, prompt service, restaurant was not at all busy during a Thursday lunch hour, so easy to converse. Works well for a business lunch. Will definitely go back. Could add a few more options to the menu.

    The food was great and we enjoyed sitting outside on a beautiful sunny day. The only bad parts were basically ever interaction with our server. She talked to us as if she clearly would've rather been anywhere else but working, answered in a snippy tone (one of us asked for iced coffee and she responded "yeah, if we even HAVE it."), and just was generally unpleasant. We tipped accordingly and right before we left, she came over and confronted us in the most uncomfortable way. She asked (in a pretty rude tone) what she did wrong and why we didn't leave her a bigger tip. I've never felt so uncomfortable. If a manager had come over instead and asked politely what had happened, maybe I would have felt inclined to give more tip...but this left a bad taste in my mouth and made me never want to come there again.

    The restaurant staff is very welcoming and accommodating. One of our party left his credit card behind and they located & held it until it could be fetched the next day. Chose the restaurant because it is pretty close to MSG, and friends were going to a concert. Had been there once before, and the food was good Irish pub fare. Last time we were a large group ourselves and did not notice the noise level. This time we arrived at 5:30, and by 6:30 it was very difficult to hear each other, we were at a table for 3. Would go back for lunch (they told us weekend brunch was really popular) or very early dinner, otherwise leave it to the young folks.

    Held a co-worker's bachelorette brunch at this location and it was a big hit. This restaurant accommodates for large groups, we had a party of 15. They keep the unlimited mimosas coming without having to hail a waiter for a refill. It is a very popular spot for brunch so they do stick to their 2 hour table limit; just take that into consideration when making reservations and tell your party to arrive 15mins early.

    Enjoyed the first seating for Brunch on a Sunday. Service was excellent as the waitress filled our mimosas/bloody mary without us having to look for her. The omelet was very enjoyable. Noise level definitely was a level higher when we left, so I would recommend to come at the first seating.

    We had a group of 7 ladies on Sunday Feb 28 for your bottomless brunch. We had Sean as our waiter and he was excellent. The nachos were to die for and the bloody marys and mimosas were delicious. We were celebrating a 21st birthday and we had a blast. We would definitely recommend you to others and are hoping to return again some day. We are from CT so maybe we will try lunch or dinner some time as well. Thank you for a fun time.

    Whenever I come to New York fir the weekend I make The Crooked Knife my last stop for Sunday brunch before I hop on a train to go home. The food is excellent and the "endless" mimosas are what they say...endless. I have always had wonderful, attentive, and friendly servers . Five stars all around.

    I have been to this restaurant 3 separate times 1 x brunch with a large group 1 x date lunch and 1 x work lunch. Food is delish and service is great. Hey, it has a fireplace for those cold winter days. I just want to say, don't be in a hurry. The staff won't rush you out. How cool is that.

    Looking for a restaurant near to where we stayed we stumbled across the crooked knife. A compact menu delivered flavoursome food with service that was welcoming, friendly and made for at Horoughly delightful meal. Would recommend thoroughly and really good value for money

    We had a reservation and were seated pretty quickly near the windows, then 15 minutes later we were asked to move to the back where the speaker and a very large brunch party were so it was extremely loud. The food was mediocre, and our server didn't check up on us at all. We had to asked for the check numerous times too as our waitress waited almost an hour after the food was taken away to come by.

    We needed to get a table for 7 at 9:30 pm on Friday, which New Yorkers know can be difficult. This spot was one of few places in the area with availability likely because the restaurant is nothing to rave about. Fine pub food. We got burgers and fish and chips. Nothing to write home about, but totally suitable for a quick, casual bite.

    My husband and I were visiting NY for a friend's wedding and we wanted a great brunch spot. I found the Crooked Knife because it was close to our hotel and had bottomless brunch! The food was EXCELLENT, but we arrived at our reservation for 11:00 at 10:55. It was 40 degrees outside so we went in, only to be told the restaurant wasn't open until 11:00 and they couldn't seat us until then. We had to wait in the entry way next to the door where it was very cold. We were one of 3 parties waiting to be seated. All of the tables already had water glasses filled and the place is not that big. We were standing 3 feet from the table they would eventually seat us at. I thought it was kind of ridiculous that they wouldn't seat anyone until 11:00. We got our drinks and our food fairly quick, but it took forever to get our bill and then for the waitress to actually take our bill and run our card. By 12:00 noon the restaurant was buzzing and very crowded. If you have a lot of time and you want a happening brunch place, this is for you. Just don't be early for your reservation.

    The only thing that detracted from the evening was carrying garbage out thru the dining room and out the front door. No idea why this had to be done at 7 pm. Mercifully it stopped before our food was served - otherwise it would have been a deal breaker

    Pretty good place seemed like a neighborhood crowd. We were very disappointed to find that the website was difficult to use and that the menu on the website was nothing like the menu in restaurant.

    The place was cute. The food was okay. I think I was looking for a place a bit more lively and update. Perhaps like a day brunch party type thing. If I was in the area, I'd go again but wouldnt go out of my way.

    The brunch and service here always has me coming back. I would recommend reserving a spot with a group.. This way u get the experience of relaxing on the couches in front of the fireplace. Just 2 of you, u may end up aling the wall by the bar and can get quite crowdes with the brunch line up.
