The Crimson Room
one of my favorite spots in town. Great service, great live music (although some vocals would be nice), truffle popcorn is always amazing. Its a classy place, cant go wrong
It was nice
Great atmosphere. Happy hour drinks were a great deal. The combo charcuterie board was great! Will definitely be back for the music next time. We came too early for the band.
It was great place for a special night
Went on a Tuesday night for Blues night. Only a few people there. So the energy was not very high. But made for easy talking and listening, because the music was great. I will go back on a busier night.
Love this place
The music was good but the lead singer was terrible. Worst
Performers we have heard their. Service was ok
Nice music & food.
Place was beautiful, the band was amazing, drinks were strong and delicious. Recommend the combo board so you can have a bite.
Nice vibe, prompt service, great decor.
We had a great experience at the Crimson Room. The band was playing which was great entertainment and the drinks were good and fairly priced.
Loved the music. the venue and the atmosphere. We plan on returning now that we have found the place.
Not just a bar, but an experience. Love.
Awesome date spot, whether it’s the first or 500th!
Definitely a hidden gem. We did not order food and were there before the music started, but we will go back for both!
Spent the weekend in Denver after our wedding since I had to fly out quickly. This place was great, drinks were outstanding and the service was top shelf. Thanks for making our night... we’ll definitely be back.
We went earlier and it was a lovely atmosphere. We had dinner plans so did not get to hear the live music, but we will be going back soon.
The surprise cover fee at $5 per person at the door even with a reservation was unexpected, and set the mood. Also, the cover is cash only, and can’t be applied to your bill. Cocktails were ho hum , the chocolate truffles were bitter , the cheesecake was bad. They were not able to modify any of the food to make it nut free, as it is all prepared in advance, possibly offsite. Music was good, waitstaff was below average at what is supposed to be a premium location.
Excellent! Great live music and ambience.
From the moment you decend the stairs and hear the band music wafting up you know you are in a very special place. Dimly lit and very hip, this velvet and tapestry decorated venue is the perfect spot for a date night or girlfriends birthday celebration. The band was perfect and the guys were super friendly, even playing my best friend a rendition of "Happy Birthday" she will never forget. One last thing the cocktails are delicious and both the truffle popcorn and chocolate truffles pair perfectly!
The place is great, staff is awesome, music was superb, drinks off the charts. I wish food choices were better, I would have stayed till closing time.
That aside this will be my new hang out after good dinner.
Love the place
Another perfect night out! Great music, outstanding service and top notch cocktails. We will be back soon, thank you.
Great jazz in a beautiful club. No dinner available, only appetizers and desserts. We ordered appetizers and they were excellent. Service was prompt but not friendly. Didn’t like my margarita. Wasn’t awful, but not great either. Reasonable prices.
Ambiance good. We did not eat. Arrived before band started playing. Attitude of waiter and manager was very difficult to believe. We asked about happy hour and we were told it was weekday only - even though the website says daily. However, this wasn’t the problem. The problem was the attitude of the staff. They acted completely disinterested and really didn’t care. The staff should be changed.
So great, great seating, great service, wine menu great- food great, music...great.
I'm not sure how to review this particular visit. Parts were good and parts were bad.
Let me start off by saying the drinks were excellent. The cocktails were wonderful. The service was mediocre. We were greeted at our table by a nice woman, however my friends and I found her to be very forgetful throughout the evening. One of my friends ordered a coffee in addition to her cocktail and the coffee was never brought out which she ended up cancelling.
We ordered desserts and the waitress told us the chocolate covered strawberries might not be available. Not a problem so I ordered the chocolate truffles as a back up. She came back to the table and told us the strawberries were available. I thought she would cancel the chocolate truffles because my original choice was available, but the truffles came out with our other desserts.
I had another friend order the truffle popcorn when we first ordered desserts which didn't come out with our first round of food. We asked the waitress for the popcorn, and it was another 20ish minutes or so before we got the popcorn. She did say the kitchen was backed up. Another server came by our table and gave us our popcorn along with clearing drink glasses.
Our waitress seemed flighty and not very attentive. I would still come back, but be asked to not sit in her section.
After an anniversary dinner at a nearby restaurant, we visited The Crimson Room. Everyone was exceptionally welcoming from the front door to the servers and band members. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. We loved the space, with the only critique would be there are some blind spots, which I thought could be rectified by smaller beams, if structurally possible. Overall, and excellent experience, so far the better jazz like experience in the city.
My one visit here (I am a real jazz person and also a musician)-- my impressions: 1) no real parking options, you are on your own to navigate Larimer Square area for parking (right across the street lot is $25, I found a lot for $5 one block further); 2) greeted at the door for a cover charge (albeit a small one) that was not mentioned when booking. Ended up paying it 2x, which I found rather unacceptable. 3) LOUD! Ok, I am a musician and generally OK with louder, but this was over the top (we are talking Ferguson-style trumpet and of all things B-3 organ with loud drummer. I did not seem to fit the ambiance or style of this particular venue, which seems geared to intimate setting (it is also VERY dark). Note that I was sitting at the far back and it was still very loud, having moved from front. The musicians themselves were top-notch, by the way! I thought the drink prices were quite reasonable for a downtown venue with a small cover (again, a surprise)... but was not at all impressed with the "small plate" menu and chose not to partake in that. The place was full of very noisy (screeching) Millennial girls and some "lovey couples", which surprised me, as I expected there to be a bit more mature crowd here. This was NOT a jazz-savvy, listening crowd on this particular Saturday night! So, in net, this is not a bad place and I am happy to have ANY live venues for music in Denver (still a cow town in the music arena, than than for alternative/indie/pop/rock). If you seek a romantic, cozy venue (think sofas) check for a night with a more laid-back band, maybe a singer or something sans drums... and enjoy THAT.
Love The Crimson Room. Great atmosphere and music. Always come here when I'm in Denver.
Very nice place for cocktails and music, excellent atmosphere. However, my father in law from Argentina offered to pay the bill and forgot to tip. The waiter followed me out to question why we didn't tip, which I thought was very pretentious and rude Tipping is still an option in this world and we typically tip 20%. Otherwise just raise your prices and pay your employees more. Won't come back.
The noise level was so high that we had a hard time to enjoy the music.I told the manager and he did little or nothing as he views the room as both a music and bar venue.
Love the place but when people are so load, the house has to at least ask them to quiet down
great facility, jazz and service. Will come back and try all the music options
Took a friend here and loved it. Very nice atmosphere and great service. Made a reservation, but hit traffic on the way in. They called to verify I was still coming in and was able to fit us in even though we were late. Our server was amazing and the band was great. Highly recommended
We went with a couple friends, had a wonderful time. The music was awesome. The ambience is super romantic and lounge-y. Food selection was so so. Drinks were good.
Great place for drinks, desserts, and a date. Small room, intimate, dark. Noise level very appropriate - can still converse at tables even close to stage. Minimal $5 cover charge
Great ambience, good music.
The staff eas very accomidating in every way... Great seats, music volume was perfect and could stll carry on a conversation. Very professional music groups naied it in every way. One of our best evenings out ever!!!!
I am not sure how I didn't know about this gem of a place! It is tucked in among many of my favorite places on Larimer Street, but maybe a bit too hidden. I went specifically to hear my friend and his jazz trio play and it was a lovely evening. I love the exposed brick, the fabulous bar and the comfy booths and chairs as much as I enjoyed the charcuterie board and cheese selection with my dirty martini! The service was great and this is a fabulous, intimate venue to take in your favorite jazz experience.
We thought it was a place for dinner, but was really a lounge for drinks and snacks. We had a drink and went elsewhere for our meal.
I was so excited to come to the Crimson Room for my 34th Birthday. The place is super cool and the jazz musicians were excellent. Now on to the service. I was met with multiple eye rolls, felt like I was an inconvenience to our waiter, and was met extremely rude attitude. Gratuity was included so maybe there is a memo to their staff that they can act like total dicks. I will not be recommend this place to friends but I will be recommend that they stay away from this place. I had chat with some other friends of mine and they said they received the same kind of service. I think Management need to hire some new staff. I was very disappointed.
