The Crimson Room
I am not sure how I didn't know about this gem of a place! It is tucked in among many of my favorite places on Larimer Street, but maybe a bit too hidden. I went specifically to hear my friend and his jazz trio play and it was a lovely evening. I love the exposed brick, the fabulous bar and the comfy booths and chairs as much as I enjoyed the charcuterie board and cheese selection with my dirty martini! The service was great and this is a fabulous, intimate venue to take in your favorite jazz experience.
We thought it was a place for dinner, but was really a lounge for drinks and snacks. We had a drink and went elsewhere for our meal.
I was so excited to come to the Crimson Room for my 34th Birthday. The place is super cool and the jazz musicians were excellent. Now on to the service. I was met with multiple eye rolls, felt like I was an inconvenience to our waiter, and was met extremely rude attitude. Gratuity was included so maybe there is a memo to their staff that they can act like total dicks. I will not be recommend this place to friends but I will be recommend that they stay away from this place. I had chat with some other friends of mine and they said they received the same kind of service. I think Management need to hire some new staff. I was very disappointed.
Made a reservation for my birthday, ended up sitting at the front and center table for watching the band on a jam session Tuesday. House and guest musicians were fantastic, even played happy birthday for me! Drinks were delicious and strong, dessert food was tasty, we will def be going back sooner than later!
Fantastic jazz band!
Great local jazz, delicious drinks, good atmosphere.
Had a chance to see a fantastic jazz trio and Paige Sandusky sing. Can't wait to come back.
The place is off the chain! Great ambiance, great drinks and the jazz was awesome! Wishing our waiter had a little more personality and hospitality, but it won't deter me from coming back again.
Valentines dessert. Great music . Very casual setting. Will be back
Elegant cozy space to go after dinner for a cocktail and listen to jazz. Can't believe we just discovered this place since it's been open about 4 years!
Great ambiance and great cocktails. A little pricey but overall a great experience. Wish heir music started a little earlier than 9pm on a weekday.
This is my favorite place to hear jazz in Denver. Love the intimacy.
I would say the only negative is the limited menu with only appetizers
Great place, good ambiance. Bartender, Remi, was wonderful.
This is a great spot in terms if ambience, music, drinks everything. The seating arrangement is nicely done so that you can enjoy the music without being bothered.
The drinks were pretty good as well as the cheese board. The decor definitely goes with the live music scene and indeed gives a feeling of old world charm.
Great ambiance for get together or birthday parties. The feel of a modern speakeasy with the best local artists playing on stage!
Crimson room has fantastic jazz music, great drinks and ambiance if you truly appreciate good jazz music. However, this is not a place for you and drunken youngsters to shout and scream. Please keep that in mind when you come.
Noise level a bit loud for holding a conversation.
Band was good but singer was too loud. A little too dark. Had to use flash light to read rest room door. Good wine overall. Will be back with my fiancé.
Creative selection of cocktails. Great service and ambiance.
Nice evening, great ambience and service. Jazz isn’t my cup of tea but the wife likes it. Great date night, cool place.
Nice location for listening to live jazz as artists get together to jam and enjoy.
The Crimson Room is a great place to bring your spouse or significant other and have a nice and cozy time listening to live music while enjoying a cocktail(s). The atmosphere is great plus it handles groups as well. The staff is great and I felt honored being greeted by the owner at the front door. I will return and recommend.
Nice atmosphere, cozy but not too crowded. Excellent music.
We made a reservation and appreciated that they seated us right on time and in a booth in the center of the back area, which had an across the room, but straight-on, view of the musicians. Since we were celebrating our anniversary the booth in the back where we could talk more was perfect. I would say if you want to pay closer attention to the music to request to sit a little more in the center or front of the room. The cocktails were delicious and service was perfectly timed. I'm looking forward to bringing my out-of-town jazz lovers here.
This is a wonderful place to hear live music. The ambiance is spectacular . The food is good and great prices! Nice place to go on the weekends or during the week.
Wonderfully quiet space that was perfect for a good conversation over excellent cocktails.
I consider this place as a hidden gem of Denver. Classy place for a date night, or just sit and enjoy the Jazz here.
We did not have food, so please ignore that rating. However, our drinks were great and the female server was awesome; the Male server was not that great. Overall experience and environment was 4 stars!! Thank you!!
40 minutes of watching other tables being sat and getting food and drinks before we saw our waitress for the second time; and still we not gotten our first round of drinks, and the $60 for four cocktails seemed a bit excessive for the wait time. Would have been much happier taking that money to a dive bar down the street.
Very cool place, great music, awesome evening all around.
We wanted a place with live jazz, and this place stood out because there was no cover charge and it had nightly shows. We were really charmed by the elegant but unpretentious ambiance, and it was the perfect romantic atmosphere to celebrate our anniversary. But the star of the show was truly our cocktails. My partner picked out the priciest one ($18) but it was worth it. It's smoked, and they light up some kindling right there on the bar in front of you. The smell is incredible, as was the taste of the drink itself. If you ever want to splurge, I highly recommend it. As for the other drinks, they were reasonably priced, and my cocktail was top notch. And of course, the live jazz was excellent.
1st time, great place to see live music in LODO. The atmosphere is speak easy and the decor is awesome.
The music and special cocktails were wonderful and the small bites were lovely. My sister was visiting from DC and a friend from Austin was in town. The Crimson Room was a great place for a ladies night out to bring friends, old and new, together.
We will try again this night the trumpet jazz was too far out there for us, who prefer mild, soothing mellow tunes. Limited food choices, especially for Gluten Free. Could have used a nut mix that was not spicy, salty or oven roasted or plain would have been sufficient. The cheese grapes and fig jam with buttered toast slices was really nice. The Whiskey Sour was served in a martini glass? Not very good. Mixologist should go upstairs to Ted’s to have a proper whisky sour. Had to ask for ice for our water initially. The House Red [Cabernet?] was delicious and for $6 was the best drink on the menu value wise. We had opposite opinions of the decor but folks are all different. One found it intimate and romantic the other claustrophobic and dingy. Servers kept our water full and were very attentive. Nice welcoming vibe and the hostess asked how loud we wanted the music and found us a nice booth. We were thanked numerous times while exiting showing appreciation of the business.
Great place with great cocktails, great people, and great live music.
Had a great evening listening to Greg Gisbert play trumpet with his band! Great music, great company, wonderful food and drink! Loved it!
Great professional staff and knowledgeable mixologist. The band played nice contemporary jazz in the background. Definitely one of the best downtown cocktail bars!
The only thing I would say is the temperature in the back of the restaurant where we sat was very warm. We would walk to the restroom and it was much cooler up front. We ultimately had to leave because the men in our group were very uncomfortable. Otherwise is was pretty cool.
The entertainment was great as well as the atmosphere. The only downside was once we were served our drinks we never saw the server again. In fact I had to track down the manager to get our bill.
