Arrived on time and waited to grab attention as staff was busy chatting. Girl took us to the table and left us. There was only other 2 tables in the garden. She did not asked if we wanted a drink nor left drink menu. Waited 15 min and noone came out to take drink or food order so we left and drove 30 min to lovely Meze restaurant instead. Won't be coming back
Lovely food and good size portions. Great atmosphere
Absolutely disgraceful found a hair in my desert as if that’s not bad enough then they gave me a replacement dessert and a hair AGAIN..Waiters have a very bad attitude and the owner is very rude horrible service and food.
Lovely meal. All food ordered was delicious. A couple of drink orders were lost and we had to chase them up but apart from that, it was a great meal.
2 of our party were delayed and the pub very kindly extended our booking for another hour.
Great place, great food! Would definitely recommend.
Great to be out and felt very comfortable, COVID safe. Fab service and food. A couple of pointers - Download app before you get there to save time ordering and wrap up warm unless you book the heated area. Will be back soon.
Very friendly pub. Good choice of food. Nice outdoor space. Lots going for this pub. Would use it often.
Great evening thanks guys. Would recommend to engine. It was the place we went to before lock down so we were really pleased to make it our first after lock down.
Love this pub. The food is very good - I can recommend the salmon fish cake burger for a twist on a traditional meat-based burger.
The staff are all friendly and efficient. Never having to wait too long to get topped up with drinks.
And the selection of real ales were great with three out of four being knew I’d not heard of before.
All told it was great to be back and I’m looking forward to being able to sit inside again.
Obviously it's difficult to run a restaurant in the pandemic. And changeable, chilly weather doesn't help.
The place was full and that gave it a buzz BUT I wonder if the numbers were not too many for the team to handle. The waiting staff were very pleasant but nothing really excused the wait for food. It was more than an hour before our first course was served and there was another long gap before the mains arrived.
The food was average at best. The chicken liver parfait was dry and crumbly, the fish was ordinary - had that recovered from frozen taste and feel. Disappointing because, years ago, it used to be very good. Maybe they'll be better when things are back to normal but we won't be returning any time soon.
Expensive ! 4 fish and chips (2 lge 2 Sml) 2 wines 2 shandies 4 desserts £135 !!
Good food.and great service in a lovely setting - perfect for a casual lazy lunch with friends
We are local to the cricketers and have eaten there many times, this visit was awful. 6pm Thursday evening, not busy, seated quickly, no visible service lead, very new waiting staff(not a problem) but appeared to have no experienced support. Long wait for order to be taken, drinks came up incorrect, ( we didn’t mention it to waiter as he was every nervous anyway) staters came up no cutlery or condiments, by the time the cutlery arrived the started were cold. Mains arrived no second order of drinks arrived, fish good chips awful, burger cold and oily, vegan dish cold and tasteless. We didn’t stay for desert or coffees.
Please get back on track, I understand COVID has had an awful effect on hospitality but if you loose your local business it will be a sad day for everyone.
The food was very overcooked and so was very dry. Sadly that would make us reluctant to go again 😢
Food is always really good (definitely recommend the mac&cheese!). The service was quick and the staff were kind and helpful.
Despite the winds, it was probably the best evening my partner and I have had in ages. Lovely food, easy way of ordering and we had no problems. Would definitely recommend.
Disappointed with the Pubs disregard of the Covid rules. Had a great meal a few weeks ago so came back with family. Service was a little slow, had to chase drinks and two incorrect meals were brought to the table but not really bothered as these things happen. When we were finishing our main, 4 tables of 6 people arrived all together and all for a celebration, the pub blatantly knew this was the case. The customers were standing up, wandering around, shouting and disturbing the other tables. Spoilt our meal and means we will never return.
Great set up for Covid friendly service. Food good and staff efficient. Enjoyed it.
The veggie and full English breakfasts were great. Service always excellent.
Very helpful staff. Nice covered area to sit in. Blankets and hot water bottles available.
We arrived early and greeted at the door, felt welcomed! We ordered drinks which took a while to arrive and one of the orders was wrong but the waitress didn’t tell us that they had used a replacement. We ordered Jamieson on the rocks but we got another brand in a shot glass! The service was very poor, we had to call someone to place our starter order after about 45minutes! The starters were nice and we enjoyed them, just as as we didn’t get our mains!!! We ordered our mains after they had not arrived after couple of hours I called the waitress and asked how long it would be! She never came back!!! Then a young man came out after about 10/15 minutes to tell us they had an issue and our order didn’t actually make it into the kitchen so we were not getting an food as the kitchen was now closed! I got upset as actually we had gone out for my husband’s birthday and this ruined our night! They still charged us which I would have refused to pay but my daughter didn’t want to make fuss! If you decide to visit make sure you take back up food as by the time we left most places were closed so we had to come home and cook something!! Very disappointed with my first visit to The Cricketers Inn!
Lovely meal and great service. Helpful staff as the app didn’t work to order
Really accommodating with our choice of tables as we had a baby with us. Great service and nice big menu.
Sitting in the tent under the heater was really lovely and toasty.
First meal out since the latest lockdown lift and it was really good. Outside seating was pleasant and we had a heater too which was good.
Had a superb meal for my daughters 21st
Extremely friendly and accommodating staff, great ambience and fantastic food.
Limited choice of traditional ales on the day we visited but everything else excellent
We booked for our ladies lunch again. Although outside but under the marquee it was lovely. Lots of heaters and they gave us blankets and hot water bottles - great. After a while we were hot in there. Food again was delicious two of us had chilli which they said was delicious and the other two had Kent sausages(3) beautiful mash and onion gravy with onion rings. So much of it and again just right. We had wine and pots of tea and coffees. Service was excellent and the staff very polite and professional. We’ll be back again very soon.
First time in 50 plus years returned, was a nice experience, given the last 14 months of lockdown
Outside arrangements were excellent, so have booked a surprise Birthday Lunch,as i have been told can bring our dog also, which is Great.
Always great food and excellent service. Thank you
Went for a mid week meal with my partner, had a table booked.
Sat down outside we sat there for about 15 mins until someone came over to take a drink order, before this 5 mins after us another couple sat down and had ordered and got their drinks before we had even been acknowledged!
The waiter took our drinks and food order together, we then sat there a further 20 mins in which time the other couple had received their food…..we still had no Drinks!
After waiting patiently I decided to call a waiter over to find out what was going on. Turns out the waiter had took our order but hadn’t actually put it through the till. Baring in mind he had brought us cutlery and sauces over! The manager came over to apologise but didn’t really know what to say.
After sitting for 45 mins in the cold we decided to leave, we were offered free drinks and a seat under the heater but by that point our evening was ruined.
Never experienced such bad service!!
Brilliant to be out socialising safely outdoors! Tables all spread apart, food served quickly and was hot!! Hot water bottles and blankets offered to stop us feeling cold as the sun went down. Friendly staff, everything has been thought of! Very impressed!
Considering the circumstances at the moment and the weather,we had a good time and enjoyed our meal plus our Hotties and Blankets!!
All the staff were polite, helpful and friendly and are doing a great job.
Well done to you all.
Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. Our drinks order was wrong twice although rectified by the staff. The food was not very warm and the bread certainly was not fresh.
Service good staff friendly
Food ok not great
No wine list
The cleaning of tables, the handling of customers on arrival was exceptional. Well done guys a very pleasant first experience out.
Good outdoor space, patio heaters, pleasant experience despite the cooler weather, well thought out. Full menu and varied choice of ales. Almost back to normal, happy days.
Lovely sunday roast . Garden looks great and marquee. Feel so sorry for the hospitality all the silly rules
.cricketers have done a great job x
Been coming here for years, service has never been better couldn’t have felt more looked after!
Delicious food, good choice (including vegan options) and great service. They have a lovely outside area too. Only thing that would make it better would be some heaters. I will definitely visit again.
Amazing food, great menu selection and friendly helpful staff.
