The Creperie Edmonton Ratings and Reviews
We went on Valentine’s Day and the menu was fixed. The crepes were ok but seemed to be filled mostly with a thick sauce. It wasn’t as busy as we thought it might be but we were seated in an aisle beside the busing station so there was a lot of foot traffic as the staff were cleaning tables. Overall not bad but I will book earlier and find somewhere else for next year.
Service was good but the food was bland. We ordered filet mignon and salmon and they were both nothing special. We didn’t think the ambience screams romantic although there was someone playing the violin on Valentine’s Day. Plus my wife was the only lady that didn’t get a rose at the entrance, they didn’t anticipate the number of people eating that day considering we booked a reservation way in advance.
I hadn’t been to The Creperie in a long time and was quite disappointed with the experience. Although the decor is very charming and our server was very pleasant and attentive, the food is nothing to write home about. Part of me is so disappointed because I feel the restaurant has such potential. My boyfriend and I had the Escargot a le chef which was ok. If you have had good escargot before this dish is very underwhelming. The sauce seemed watered down and somewhat bland instead of rich, buttery, and flavourful. We also shared the Crepe St. Jacques which was good... again not great. The crepe itself was a bit bland and the sauce was most probably artificially thickened. The sides are meh, steamed veggies with a “supermarket spice blend” type seasoning, and orzo pasta which could have very well come from a box.
I’m saddened by my experience. I genuinely feel this place has too much potential and is in need of a major step up in food quality.
The price blew us away at $300 for a family of 4! Food was good but definitely won't be back due to the price! Also we weren't crazy about a fixed menu this year. We've been going for the past 10yrs, and are disappointed that we can't go back due to the increase in the cost and fixed menu.
Great service, excellent tastes, and great presentation. Our waitress made us feel very comfortable. Parking on a game night is a bit expensive and hard to find. The walk would have been okay if it was not -35 outside. Other than that it was a great experience.
Our family of four decided to try something new for Christmas Eve this year, so we went to The Crêperie. Best decision ever. The food was fantastic and our server was wonderful. We would definitely return. I love that there are options for people who aren’t fans of crepes since my boys are total carnivores they loved the ribeye steak (it was amazing)
Overall the food was good. However half of my personal entree did not arrive as ordered. Also there was four of us. Our table was crowded to the point where it interfered with the enjoyment of the evening. We spent our time juggling dishes and accompaniments because the table was too small. The waitress was friendly however she was ill prepared in the service of wine.
We celebrated my wife's birthday with daughters, sons-in laws, and grandchildren. It was arguably our most memorable restaurant birthday celebration. The Creperie is an Edmonton institution and has not lost its 'special touches' over the years. We were placed at a semiprivate table that included drawn curtains. The grandchildren could 'reasonably' play with each other. And our space was sufficiently quiet for good conversation at a large table. The service was personal. The food was great. Lots of choices on the children's menu. Some of us had crepes while others ordered from the meal selection. There were also vegetarian choices for my daughter. My filet minion was 'to die for'. The wine list is sufficient and well priced. We will be back the The Creperie for another family celebration.
My lady and I were celebrating our 5th anniversary by dining here and seeing A Christmas Carrol at the Citadel. We have been have several times, and return because of the food quality, excellent service, and ambiance.
A couple of years ago we heard that the restaurant had been sold, and were afraid it would close. Thankfully it has not.
Beautiful venue with partitions that create both privacy and spacing. Service was attentive and well-informed with a sense of humour thrown in. Food was delicious, wine perfect. Linger as long as you can to soak up the atmosphere because when the bill comes, it can be a shock. The Creperie has never been cheap but it is definitely a treat!
We had our staff Christmas party at the Creperie. This is a wonderfully quiet place to relax and enjoy time with co-workers. Too often, in many establishments, you can hardly hear the conversation. This is certainly not the case with the Creperie. There is a reason the Creperie has been in business for years. The menu doesn't change much and doesn't need to. There is something for everyone! The food is predictably delicious and the service is quiet and unobtrusive. We will be back. Thoroughly enjoyable evening!
My husband and I loved the creperie but have been disappointed the last couple times we've gone which makes us both sad. This last time we brought 4 friends that had never been, I was embarrassed that I had raved about this place. Our service was extremely slow, the hostess actually came to our table to clear dirty dishes and another time to refill drinks. The bathroom was out of Towles and instead of putting more in there there was just a roll of paper towels on the counter which was wet. The food was the best part but even that was not up to the standard that I would expect from the creperie, the dessert was the saving grace which is why I gave 3 starts overall and not 2.
The evening out was just for a meal in the evening as we were tired arriving from the airport. My wife and I enjoyed our meals with wine - no dessert as the portions are large - and enjoyed the nice, quiet atmosphere with background music which was not too loud, just nice background so that you could talk as you were sitting, and lighting which was just perfect, not too bright, not too dim. As the Creperie celebrates it 40th Anniversary, it is a good place to celebrate yours. I highly recommend it.
