The Creperie Edmonton Ratings and Reviews
Beautiful venue with partitions that create both privacy and spacing. Service was attentive and well-informed with a sense of humour thrown in. Food was delicious, wine perfect. Linger as long as you can to soak up the atmosphere because when the bill comes, it can be a shock. The Creperie has never been cheap but it is definitely a treat!
We had our staff Christmas party at the Creperie. This is a wonderfully quiet place to relax and enjoy time with co-workers. Too often, in many establishments, you can hardly hear the conversation. This is certainly not the case with the Creperie. There is a reason the Creperie has been in business for years. The menu doesn't change much and doesn't need to. There is something for everyone! The food is predictably delicious and the service is quiet and unobtrusive. We will be back. Thoroughly enjoyable evening!
My husband and I loved the creperie but have been disappointed the last couple times we've gone which makes us both sad. This last time we brought 4 friends that had never been, I was embarrassed that I had raved about this place. Our service was extremely slow, the hostess actually came to our table to clear dirty dishes and another time to refill drinks. The bathroom was out of Towles and instead of putting more in there there was just a roll of paper towels on the counter which was wet. The food was the best part but even that was not up to the standard that I would expect from the creperie, the dessert was the saving grace which is why I gave 3 starts overall and not 2.
The evening out was just for a meal in the evening as we were tired arriving from the airport. My wife and I enjoyed our meals with wine - no dessert as the portions are large - and enjoyed the nice, quiet atmosphere with background music which was not too loud, just nice background so that you could talk as you were sitting, and lighting which was just perfect, not too bright, not too dim. As the Creperie celebrates it 40th Anniversary, it is a good place to celebrate yours. I highly recommend it.
I brought my mom here for her birthday, and we both had the 3 course crepe meal, had wine from the wine selection, appetizers and little extra birthday dessert they brought. She enjoyed the piano, classical music, and traditional French songs playing in the background which made a nice ambiance we could still have easy conversation over. I liked the neat layout and decor and we joked with our friendly server. We left feeling full, satisfied, happy and impressed.
So, my parents first took me to The Creperie when I was a child, and I loved going there for any special occasion. As it was our anniversary, I went there excited to enjoy a great meal as always, but for the first time ever I found myself disappointed. Firstly, many of my favourite items had been taken off the menu (ex. the beef tartare), replaced with the kind of things I could find in any pub like chips and dip and things. Not what I'm looking for when I go out for a nice meal at a French restaurant. I didn't want the three course deal, I wanted an awesome appetizer and fancy entree, but wasn't able to find either. The crepe menu seemed smaller than usual, and items on it just seemed.... lame. Like ginger beef? I don't get it.
The service was so slow that I made my reservation three hours before a show we were planning to see, and we still had to get our dessert to-go so we could make it on time. Our server knew very little about wine and wasn't able to make a recommendation, so I ended up with a light red wine paired with a mediocre steak. I was just really disappointed... it took ten years, but unfortunately, this is no longer my favourite restaurant in Edmonton. Go for lunch if you want something tasty, but don't make this your destination for a fancy, celebratory meal out.
Loved everything about this restaurant. The food was wonderful. All 5 of us enjoyed it so much. So nice to dine in a relaxing atmosphere and to be able to have conversation around the table without having too shout to be heard. I find the newer trendy restaurants very noisy.
The crepes were excellent!!!!
We wanted to grab a bite before the concert. I ordered beef stroganoff as usual and my husband had the lamb shank. His meat was actually cold to the touch. So we quickly flagged the waitress down and had her heat it up. She was so apologetic. My meal was fine so I kept eating. He got it back and it was warm until you reached the bone. We told the waitress again just so she knew for next time. Got the bill and they didn’t make any concession for our meal. It was just so awkward for the waitress and it really did put a downer on the evening. I basically had to eat on my own. Very disappointed in the management and I will hesitate to go back.
We arrived early (5:30) in order to leave by 7:30 for an 8:00 Oilers game. Service was slow and argumentative/arrogant. Server also complained about being short handed.
Food was mediocre to average depending on the course. Other patrons also complaining about timing.
If you're going to be a fine dining restaurant in the ice district you better figure out how to serve a meal in two hours pre-game. Nobody likes missing the puck drop because dinner is too long.
The ambience was cozy and intimate. Perfect for a date or a get together with friends. Food was fantastic with the best gluten-free menu I've seen anywhere. The service was top notch and the wine and as great and reasonably priced. We would definitely go again.
We hadn't been to The Creperie for a couple of years but this was my wife's choice for our anniversary. We had an early reservation so the restaurant was quiet for the first while and as it got busier noise was never an issue and the service remained top notch. The appetizers and crepes were delicious. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. We had a wonderful evening and we will not wait as long to return.
Actually read the comments I made, had a gluten free menu on arrival and brought a lovely dessert for my friends birthday. They even switched the meat in the crepes for us for only a small price difference. It was so delicious. Perfect portion sizes, although we didn't eat all the extras of the main to save room for dessert which was incredible! Definitely will come back again!
