The Cove Steakhouse and Raw Bar Ratings and Reviews
As always, the Cove did not disappoint. My husband had the seafood trio - scallops, shrimp, lobster and I had the mushroom ravioli. Absolutely delicious. The only issue was that the ravioli came out warm and not hot - still definitely flavorful and I ate it all. We always sit at the bar since Karen (the bartender) is always friendly and attentive. Will we go back? Absolutely.
The only problem we had was that the service was slow because our server had too many tables to tend. He even had to bus his own tables. He was a very good server . It was not his fault that he was over worked. He was busting his butt trying to please us. Harrah's needs to hire more servers so that customers are not waiting.
This restaurant is fairly typical for a successful formula. Somewhat upscale pricing, one page menu, excellent food with excellent execution, attention to details with silverware, very nice service. We use this restaurant as a place to go as a treat or special occasion. Have been here close to a dozen times in the roughly five and a half years it's been open. We have never had a complaint.
Been there a few times..keep ending up with the same server and he is terrible..i always walk away thinking how things could be better somehow..for being a high end steakhouse that is only open like 15 hours a week you would expect them to be top notch..service brutal
O.k. Honestly, I wasn't going to try this place again . Reason being, my mother and I came here the week before on a Sunday and was disappointed. However, we decided to give it another shot and let me tell you. They knocked it out of the park. Our server Travis was wonderful. After we explained our prior visit Travis guaranteed us it would be different. Let me tell you, it absolutely was. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection. We had the stuffed flounder, grilled asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. It was absolutely amazing.
We had a very good waiter , happened to be the same one as last visit.
Only issue we had are food took 1 hour and it wasent real busy and tables came after us and got their meals before us. I know the waiter felt bad and offer us dessert but declined, it was late enough after we got out there.meal was excellent, just disappointed on how long we sat there to receive it.
The service was fine. The was ok, except for the so called prime NY strip. The steak was
Filled with gristle. I had a hard time cutting it with a steak knife. I tried to find a tender
piece but could not. I think it’s a disgrace to claim a steak prime, when it is not.
Was it government inspected prime? I was extremely disappointed. I am 78 years
Old and it was probably the worst steak I have ever tried to eat. They did take the $51.00
Of the check, but are anniversary dinned was ruined.
The 3 of us were very happy with all 3 courses. Two of us had oysters from the raw bar while one had the calamari. Our entrees were rack of lamb, prime rib and flounder stuffed with crab. The desert was an ice cream made table side. We were all happy with our choices and our server, Juan, was attentive and pleasant.
The atmosphere of the restaurant and the service provided by the staff is top shelf. My wife was very pleased with her Salmon dinner. I was disappointed with my queen cut Prime Rib. It was difficult to cut and more difficult to chew.
Juan, our server, was outstanding as was the other staff members who assisted us.
Unfortunately, the quests at another table were loud and disturbed our quiet celebration of my wife's birthday.
The pricing was as expected for a higher end restaurant. It seems that the portions are large in order to justify the prices. Based on my personal experience, the Cove would be better served to consider the quality of their offerings over the quantity.
The menu has changed and price went up since last visit. Food was good and so was the service. The view was great looking toward the racetrack . I do enjoy coming to The Cove Steak House have dinner and relaxed. This is one of the better restaurant throughout the casino.
Hadn't been to Harrahs in several years but had enjoyed The Cove several times since it first opened, so we went for our anniversary dinner. The menu is pricey, but we figured we'd treat ourselves. Surprised that there were no specials offered by our server, who was nice but did not come to check on us during the appetizer, and then we had to flag him down because there was an issue with one of our meals, which was nearly inedible. He sent the manager over, who apologized profusely, and offered to comp a beverage. We're not ones to complain and don't seek compensation but I would have assumed the entree itself would have been complimentary.
Overall, the restaurant is very lovely but several times men in t-shirts and work clothes went walking through the main dining area and it definitely detracted from the ambiance. After we paid we went next door to the Guy Fieri restaurant for a drink, and after looking at that menu and our great service there, we regretted not just starting here in the first place. If we go back to Harrah's, we'll be eating at Fieri's restaurant.
I took my wife out for date night and it was not a good experience. The ambience is was good but everything else was not. The service was slow. I ordered the bone in ribeye medium. It came out extra well done I sent it back. When it came back out it was still well done and it was the wrong steak. I will not be dining there again.
Usually leave The Cove for a special dinner, but decided to use our $100 Harrahs voucher....sat at the bar, as usual, to chat w/ our favorite tender. Ordered Prime rib and Strip steak and baked potato. ( specifically asked if strip was prime, she inquired w/ chef and was affirmed) Prime was fine ( not exceptional), but strip steak EXTREMELY tough to cut and eat and baked potato NOT baked through! When brought to attention of staff, was told, " Must be steak knife...they're extremely dull!) , was given another knife and no difference! Decided not to argue...wasn't first time disappointed, but always willing to give another chance, especially if new chef! NOT the first class dining experience one would expect, demand, at a restaurant w/ high priced options after much $$ spent prior in the casino!
We ordered 2 steaks both medium rare. One was well done the other rare. They were redone one came back as ordered and the other looked like it was char burnt. All of our sides were served cold and had to be reheated. They offered us a desert with a candle for the birthday girl which we were charge for 👎
I felt like I was on an old cruise ship, golden oldie. The food taste like it was prepared on a cruise ship too, like a Carnival boat from 1990. It was awful, weird textures, either under or overcooked no in between and lackluster flavor. The servers seemed to be very busy even though their was barely anyone in there. The view was bad though otherwise this place sucks.
We arrived just a few minutes late for our 6:30pm reservation, and despite many empty tables in view, was told to wait while the hostess checked for our table. We were waved in, ordered drinks and meal, and were happy with our soups. The french onion was classically prepared, and the she crab soup a velvet cream with plenty of crab. Things went downhill after that. We waited over an hour for our entrees to arrive, and our plates arrived shortly after asking the hostess to check on our meals. Steaks seemed to be featured here, boxed out on the menu. My husband ordered the bone-in aged KC strip steak. At $38 we expected to have something much better than anything I can get from Acme and grill, but no such luck. There was a french friend onion garnish, but the steak was small. He struggled to cut a piece with the regular knife, as no steak knife had come, and our waiter was not able to be flagged down. We finally got another staff person to supply a steak knife, which did not improve things much. The side of french fries ($9) was huge, but no ketchup was made available. 8 grilled asparagus ($9) was a highlight. My caesar salad was fresh but nothing special. We were not able to get refills on beverages until we finished our meals and sat back for another half hour. A very pleasant hostess approached our table and inquired about our meals, and offered to take the steak off of the bill, but we were using a Groupon and it didn't matter much. It was explained that the slow season results in a cutdown in staff and the waiter was overwhelmed, which was evident. But that does not excuse the poor quality of a very expensive meal. Desserts were provided on the house, and I'd recommend the ice cream over the rice pudding. Apologies were accepted but we probably won't return. The view is gorgeous, but the prices hefty for a much less than optimal meal.
We loved it, from start to finish. The she crab soup was delicious as were my scallops. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his stuffed flounder also. Our server was Alyssa and she was exceptional. We had a great anniversary dinner that we toasted with really good cocktails. Thank you so much!
After experiencing other Total Rewards restaurants, this one leaves something to be desired. There are no tablecloths and they try to sit you in top of other people. The dress code is left to the individual which makes you wonder if a mirror was available to some who walk in looking like they just rolled out of bed. They use to have live piano music but now it's just piped in and the food was mediocre at best. My husband ordered a sirloin steak medium rare which was charred on one side, raw on the other. He left 1/4 of it which is very unusual but I didn't want him to complain. I'm sure they would have made it right but we didn't feel like waiting. Kamal was an attentive waiter and very sweet, but this restaurant needs to step up its game to be in line with the restaurants in the other locations.
