The Cove Steakhouse and Raw Bar
The Cove planted roots at Harrah's Philadelphia overlooking stunning views of the Delaware River. The rich tradition of American seafood and steak houses most enjoy down the shore can conveniently experience here at The Cove. One can appreciate our impeccable chef-driven cuisine, extensive wine list and unparalleled hospitality.
The food and service were excellent and it's a very nice atmosphere. The only thing I do not like, are the sides are ala carte and served family style. If it's just two people it's kind of hard, especially if you each want something different. Also, I think $10.00 for a baked potato is too steep. Also, be warned of one thing - the rest room one room shared by the men and women. Stalls are marked indicating which ones are for whom. I'm not sure when that changed, but it sure surprised me.
I've been to the Cove several different times with excellent service. This past visit wasn't the same. Took a long time to be even noticed at the table. I believe they must have been short on staff since the manager was bringing out the food also. Restaurant was crowded and I assume they knew this by the reservation system they should of had more staff. Took a long time for our meal to come out, then again to get our bill. Waitress came by once to begin with to ask for drink order/meal order then didn't see her again until we were finished eating. Food was good however way over priced for getting just the entree.. Sides are extra.
The food is good. I always have the filet, and friends frequently order seafood or items from the raw bar, and had no complaints.
Plus: I always request Juan as my server. He's attentive and pleasant, and always takes good care of me and my guests.
Minus: the choices are fairly usual for a "Steak and Raw Bar" restaurant, and haven't seemed to change for the last couple of years. It would be nice to see some new choices occasionally.
My son's meal was perfect He got the rack of lamb I ordered the strip steak medium well The steak was nothing but bone and fat and it was cooked raw It took 40 minutes to get water to the table when we were first seated even though the waiter came over 3 times to tell us he was getting the water The same thing happened with the sugar I needed for my coffee
Food and service are always great
Service was rather slow and from the time we were seated it took 2 1/2 hours. The food was warm and the scallops were just okay. We also had a problem with our Diamond Celebration Certificate. They finally made it all right, but the experience was disappointing.
very good service as well as excellent food. Would like to see a couple everyday items on menue,ie broiled or fried seafood platter. Also possible cheesecake or chocolate cake or pie on menue.
I found the food to be well prepared. Good presentation. I would recommend the Cove to anyone.
The Cove has great food and happy waiters. My only complaint is with the restrooms, I felt very uncomfortable going in there with a gentleman to follow. They could at least have music playing in there to break up the silence.
Great Steaks Huge Shrimp Cocktail Casino prices are high but food is good
Food was outstanding. Steak was cooked perfectly, probably one of the best I have ever had. Loved the presentation of the stuffed flounder. Very friendly wait staff.
We were seated promptly upon our arrival. Our waitress, Aliissa, was attentive and friendly. She took our order after allowing us time to make choices. The shrimp cocktails were exceptional. Our entrees were served hot and delicious. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Our server was very pleasant but obviously had too many tables.. Our water never was refilled and he did not touch base until after the meal
I ordered a seafood trio that was $61 and it was a poor value It had one nice lobster tail and 2 shrimp and 2 scallops on a very large plate It looked like some one forgot to garnish or add some lemon. It was good but way overpriced
We have dined many times over the years at the cove and there seems to be an element missing.
Atmosphere was rather dated, food is pricey, cocktails very overpriced
No points for dining—— kitchen is very slow — long wait to eat
The entrees were fine but the appetizers were sub-par.
Calamari...D...Large portion of mediocre food
Tuna...D-...Spices produced an unpleasant taste
Prime Rib...A...Tender. Large portion
Crème Brulee...A...Very good
Both the salmon and the prime rib were cooked medium to medium well. We would have asked for medium rare if given the opportunity (but our waiter never asked).
We were there for our yearly anniversary dinner (58 years), compliments of the casino rewards benefits. The staff was very gracious as was our wait staff, Alicia. The prime rib was some of the best I have ever had. Brought a big piece home to enjoy again. Carl had the she-crab soup and enjoyed it very much. We shared a lemon cake dessert that was delicious. We will be back next year!
Waiter took our order and after delivery never came to ask if everything was ok...needed extra items and water refill and could not get his attention. Had to eat my meal with nothing to wash it down.
Really spoiled a rare date night with my wife...hoping for a special evening turned out to be a bummer based on his inattentive service !
Thank you for a great experience! We frequently dine at the Cove because we know it will be the ultimate in dining. From the welcome hosts to the serving staff we always have the best of the best! We recommend anyone who hasn't dined here to come out and try it, you won't be disappointed. THe porterhouse pork chop that has been added is absolutely outrageous, yum!
We just love this place. The Food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. The Chef is awesome and so is the wait team !!!
I love this place. Feels so upscale yet affordable. I enjoy getting dressed for the occasion, but not necessary. I always ask for a special server, Kamal, he is outstanding, very attentive.
My husband and I ate there last Saturday for our birthdays. We always enjoy the ambience and good food. The service was excellent.
As you walk in here, there is a beautiful all - white baby grand piano. How great would it be if The Cove was to turn their front cocktail area into a nice piano lounge !
You only have one salad dressing and that is blue cheese. Not everyone likes blue cheese. I believe the meats are way over priced and the side dishes are also over priced.
We took our friends out to celebrate their 50th wedding Anniversary, everything was perfect, a great time was had by all!
Great dining experience! Juan, our server, was most attentive and explained how ingredients were used like the chipotle butter was melted over the porterhouse pork chop and was on the spicy side. this allowed me to have it served on the side so I could taste the flavor. Had he not done this I would not have been able to enjoy the succulent pork chop. The vegetable selection is outstanding and delicious. The entres offered will compliment anyone's pallet, not to mention the raw bar, appetizers and desserts.
I highly recommend the Cove for a most enjoyable eating experience!
Great steakhouse. Great view of horse racetrack and river. Affordable prices. Steak cooked to perfection. Incredible She-crab soup. Friendly employees.
What a gem! Celebrating a birthday and wanted something nice but without the drive to Philly. This was perfect, from the covered free parking, to the great menu. My steak with prepared to perfection and my vegan daughters left the restaurant full. Our server was extremely courteous and professional. We are looking for an excuse to visit again!
Service and food were very good but the decor in the dining area is just awful. You feel like you are eating almost in a nice cafeteria. Bar is nice.
The pictures online were misleading and the restaurant was very old style. The crowd was EXTREMELY loud and disrespectful and ruined our dinner. The steak was good but ruined by the unruly customers. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone that I know.
We booked for 3, but 2 more showed up, and there was no problems accommodating us. Our server Juan was super, suggesting certain drinks and entries. The drinks, wine and food was great. We ordered a seafood tower which was awesome. Total bill was pricey!
Expensive food for no reason. When we walked in we had to wait 10 minutes for the waitress to arrive and another 10 min for her to told bring us a cold stale bread with oil and butter in the side. Then another 35 min or more for the entree. Yet the place was not busy what so ever. I paid $35 for 6 oily scallops and burned bacon. Never again! At the end of the night the food made me so sick that I had to go home instead of have a nice night out . Food is not worth the price. Very disappointing. On the open table app I indicated that it was my fiancé’s birthday which is why we’re dinning out and the waitress totally disregarded it. We were not even offered a desert menu? Please read every review because I sure didn’t.
The service was okay but they messed up the one order and took to long to fix. It shouldn't have taken that long due to it was that crowded. The did try to fix with free dessert
The food was very good, service was excellent. The timing between courses was timed just right. I would recommend the Cove.
Always enjoy Cove Restaurant at Harrah’s Chester/Philadelphia. Food, service and atmosphere are very good. Juan, our server was very attentive and cheerful. Recomend it to friends and family.
We always love to come to The Cove! The service is always great! The servers can’t do enough for u. The filet Minton is always exceptional and the crem brûlée is awesome. We tried the shecrab soup which I think is new was delicious. We don’t usually get anything before the entree but it was sooo good we were glad we tried it.
Service was the best part of the meal. Salad seemed old. Steak was cooked to order. A bit underwhelming with seasoning. Creme Brûlée was delicious. Generous portions for a great price.
THE Cove is definitely the place to go for an all around great dining experience. Alisa is usually our server who delivers a marvelous and fun experience. The front end host are most accommodating. The food is sensational and always cooked to perfection. You really need to check out this place!
Excellent, service was great, food delicious. Little pricey, but worth it.
Service not good. Forgot our bread and vodka. Food is amazing, pricy though. Worth it for the raw, fresh and feel save to eat.
Food was really good, but the bread was just OK. Not a fan of the bread not being warm. My husband loves the Seafood Tower!
