Came here based on some recommendations from good friends who know good food. This place did not disappoint. Everything tasted good. From the appetizer to the entree to the drinks. Service was good. Our son, who's 14 months loved the biscuits and the wine braised beef and carrots and parsnips. We will definitely make the trek out here again if we are ever in Portland.

Went for two Birthdays and we all had the fried chicken dinner. All four of us enjoyed the dinner and service was great! Good biscuits too!

Some of our dinners were very warm and some were not. Mashed potatoes were good but on the cold side. Salad was very plain. Lettuce only, no other veggies. Bread was an extra charge and it was terrible. I would not go back. Service was excellent !!!!!!
It was very loud, hard to talk without yelling accross the table.

Met 4 friends from our if town who'd heard about it in TV. Shredded pork and sweet sausage gravy with Sunday Brunch were awesome! Great service. Yes, they do take and confirm reservations.

The noise-level generated by patrons rose to a level that each had to talk over each other. There is no sound deadening for the acoustics (floor rugs, wall hangings, ceiling absorption devices) and I had to resort to reading lips to understand what people across from me were saying. Of course kids added to the mix made it worse. (Oh and my last audibility check showed I can still hear very well in both ears :). Despite that - its great food and service......

I had my first Country Cat to-go meal at PDX & I was hooked! It made a long & tortuous flight to Florida go much more quickly with my country ham sandwich taste sensation. A year later my husband & I then took the trek over from Beaverton to the Stark location to have the fried chicken & collard greens, along with some kind of cobbler that was out of this world. Fast forward to today, when I met my family for a casual Easter dinner, and once again the food & cobbler (rhubarb this time!) was out of this world delicious! I actually like the atmosphere there, with the cooks calling out the orders & the different amazing aromas coming from the kitchen. You can tell it used to be some kind of diner before it became the Country Cat, that I imagine my Dad frequented when he worked at Mr. Plywood down the street in the late 60's. Love everything about it, even the prices seemed reasonable for the high quality food presented.

We had to wait for our reserved table until most of us arrived. Stood around for 10-15 mins. It was SO NOISY. That was the biggest distractor, that and they did not carry any Riesling.
The food was good, not great. The chicken, pork and fish were a little over-cooked.
I was a little disappointed compared to the last time I was there a few years ago.

Server was fantastic. I can't remember his name but he had a friendly/slightly formal disposition. Very attentive, humorous, informative and took great care of us. He made taking great care of us seem very easy. Well done!

Great restaurant. Service was excellent and prompt, but did not feel rushed to leave. The pecan cinnamon rolls were to die for!! I had the Eggs Benedict with country ham. Their hollandaise sauce was the best I have ever had and the eggs were poached perfectly. I would definitely return when in Portland again.

Still the great place it's always been. Good food, good prices, good service. A bit noisy, but not annoyingly so. The only reason it's not a 5 star for me is I'm becoming a bit harsher in my scores as I age--it takes an outstanding experience for the 5s.

Visit with some friends. The place is moderate in size and very popular so a reservation is highly recommended. The dinner menu carries a wide range of food, innovatively prepared and presented. Portions are generous so watch yourself on the appetizers (which are hard to be disciplined about because they are all so good!) I had a look at the brunch menu and found it very tempting as well.

It was our first time dining there and was for a milestone birthday - party of 10. We needed to wait until the whole party arrived to be seated. The staff seemed hurried and rather abrupt. Having only one ticket for the entire party and a limit of 3 credit cards made it inconvenient for splitting the tab and two of our party had to leave the party to get cash. The food was okay, but I think overrated. Overall, it was not the best experience. It was hard to visit with family because of the noise level and one side of the table was wedged next to the wall so it was hard to get in and out.

We heard about Country Cat on a Guy Fieri show and just had to try it. The pecan rolls are amazing, as was the chicken sandwich. Friendly service and a southeast vibe - great place!

Food was excellent and service was great. Looking forward to coming back to try more of their great food. The cold air coming in from the front door was the only gripe we had at our table. Midway through our meal we had to put on our coats because of the cold draft coming in. Seriously got cold.

A group of five went to dinner. The seating was tight, a booth with a chair on the end but manageable. We were sitting by the bar and bartender was our waiter. He know the menu very well and make excellent suggestions and drink pairings.

Everyone was complimentary to the biscuits with honey and butter and all entree's received praise. The deviled eggs had an odd taste (we determined that it was olive juice, odd).

A couple of us had the pork three ways - amazing - pork chop, super soft pork loin and pork belly on a bed of grits. We all agreed the grits were dull and lacking flavor but the pork was excellent. Table also had fried chicken, tasty, pot roast, and ravioli.

We will go again, it was a nice experience in a cute neighborhood.

Expecting great things, experience just okay, C grade. Dumpling special was served with warm broth, but lukewarm dumpling, cold in the middle. Jerky appetizer was pretty ordinary, not tender or particularly well seasoned. Whole hog pork plates were overdone and selections tough to cut, except for the pulled pork which was moist, smoky and tasty. Polenta lacked substance, more a puree. Ducketta and chicken dishes were fine, not special. Wine was very good, as were cocktails & dessert; service very good too. Nice atmosphere and venue.

Delicious as usual. We've been to Country Cat multiple times for brunch and it never disappoints. Special note is the homemade jerky which this pescatarian makes an exception for especially when an accompaniment to the bloody mary. The biscuits are flaky and buttery. The skinny onion rings will capture your attention. The egg dishes are superb with a special nod to the eggs benedict with salmon and the hollandaise sauce is just the right amount of lemony goodness. Go with your friends and enjoy a fun time.

After previously dining at Country Cat At least four times and having excellent food and service, we were quite disappointed with our dinners this past weekend. My salmon was dry and had no sauce at all, not even a slight scrape of mayonnaise and no lemon at all. The potato accompaniment was tasteless. My husband’s pot roast has previously been melt in your mouth delicious but this time the beef was good but the seasonal vegetables tasted sour and slightly burned, not good flavor or texture. It seemed like there was an abundance of brussel sprouts that were past their prime. Our onion rings were tasty but the bottom half were hundreds of small bits and pieces, like the bottom of a popcorn tub of old maids. Drinks and desserts were great. Lots of good places to dine in Portland so we will not be back for quite awhile.

Great brunch and didn't disappoint! My family was in from out of town and they loved the southern style. The ham hock special was a. If hit as were the fried chicken and eggs Benedict. Only glitch was with the salmon in my eggs Benedict, an awful lot of bones that someone could have choked on (they were fairly large fish bones). Our server was amazing! My family had a wonderful time and enjoyed everything including the bloody Mary's!
